I was lucky to be in Manchester when R.E.M.started out. And I worked as Michael Strikes toothbrush in the early days. I remember him being like a sponge and getting ideas from all things. We went shopping in Liddel once and he walked into a door, expecting it to open, and it didnt. He banged his head and said 'Ow'. I said 'dont worry Michael everybody hurts, sometimes'. Michael ran to the ketchup aisle and used ketchup to write a song using my words. I'll neverforget that day. goodbye R.E.M.
