Sounds almost baroque. Can you do it on a lute? Read Music and Sience by Rose Tremain and sort it out.

Great writing like this (Schenker is foremost a genius composer) need new, repetitions (to use the french meaning). In a 100 years he'll be on the 'one's that got away resting in a pauper's grave' list. His imitators try to get close to his style not realising it's his soul they should be after. I think you're there lad on that one.
