Because Malawi will no longer have to borrow money from the World Bank and be in debt. Or need to receive donated food, bought from some corporate fucking massive farming corporation that bribe the congressmen who look after them.
All African countries should subsidize their farmers which will server the regional blocks in east, west and south because they can then sell each other the excess product, therefore increasing regional trade and self reliance.

Now Africa is a place where Farm Subsidy's make a sense because of how Under Developed they are. But not in America unless farmers pay into it.
