is it normal that i've lost 4 pounds in allmost 2 days (i'm sick and i have to crap all the time lol)? Im a really skinny guy who gained a lot of pounds during the past months due hard working and eating well, but due my sickness i get pretty skinny again.. will i gain my pounds back when i eat well as be4 or will it be hard to gain that muscle again?
@scooby1961 thanks for everything you do. with all these supplements and products being pitched by people on steroids, it's nice to see someone pure and honest shoveling positivity and truth rather than bs. not that I have anything against PEDs, it's just so lame and discouraging to see people pitching creatine pills and amino acids who obviously ingest HGH and steroids. YOU ROCK!
Great info! I enjoy your videos very much! I would ask you to please watch my video, I posted it a few days ago- you may find we have a lot in common in terms of helping others! thanks Scooby! Michael
Scooby, my workouts last about 15-20 minutes for lifting, but I am sore the next day. You say to workout an hour 5 days a week, but I can't do that intensity.
@nominatedsamurai dude thats good. at a young age you dont want too be bulky. when you turn 16 or 17 your going to start bulking up on your own. just eat alot and continue exercising normally, mostly cardio. If your skinny and eat alot it should happen naturally. take it from a guy who this happened too and every other skinny kid in my junior year who played sports lol
@nominatedsamurai naw man listen to scooby. and if you just stay skinny, people may mess with you in the beginning, but if you just eat alot and play sports like i said, you will be huge when you hit junior year and maybe sophomore year. just whatever you do, dont try to bulk up now, because in the long run it wont be worth it.
lol ofc i play sports, i play soccer almost everyday and im a champion sprinter in my district.
But about eating, u see, i eat till my stomach fills up, but i guess im just not eating the rite things. I desperately need a chart about what food to eat when, but seems like none can provide me a good one.
Is it possible to build muscle while eating maintenance calories? Will this cause an effect to gaining muscle without gaining fat? Is it possible if youre eating only soy, vegetables, and egg white without dairy or meat for protein, but still eating enough protein that you suggested? Thanks Scooby for the video!
Im 80 Kg (176lbs) and 5ft 11, have next to no body fat but want to gain muscle, first I have to start doing weights as I just have. Next I have to eat more but this is where Im having trouble. I eat as much as I can now but still I have no body fat. I work long hours of physical work 13 hours a day and burn off all my body fat. Will I need to eat more to gain muscle? I eat lots of muesli bars for breakfast, asian or curry with vegetables for lunch and have a similar dinner. Is this enough?
@scottclements78 To put it simply, you will need to eat A LOT....like close to 5 or 6k of calories LOT to meet working 13 hours + resistance training.
Dear Scooby, first off I highly value your videos and your on spot. You mention to build muscle and lose fat you should work out 1hr 5 times a week. I've read articles in the past that if you work out for an hour or so you body goes into starvation mode releasing cortisol which could be counterproductive since your body will be more apt to store fat in the midsection. So I would state to work out intensely from anywhere from 30-60 minutes but no more than an hour to avoid cortisol release :)
Nevermind. I just saw your advanced workout routine (I have been lifting for 2 years). Looks fun and is more economical on time which is good because I have school, tutor math and golf.
I am 6 feet tall 140 lbs, so a bit underweight. 4.5% body fat composition. I do 30 mins of cardio daily and lift every other day (for recovery). Should I eat more protein and lift weights more if I wanna get more built? I have a very strict diet also obviously since I got to this point in the first place. I am also starting on an MMA program to hopefully vary my workouts.
@theblackmanOyeah Well I think I took cardio and nutrition to an extreme. So, I imagine there is a happy medium. I also do not see what is wrong with hamburgers if you make them with 96/4 extra lean ground beef and a whole wheat bun.
hey im 5'11'' and 135 pounds im trying to gain mass but i dont want my stomach to get fat with these foods even while i do all my workouts. is this still good?
lmao!! that is so funny. you think he is explaining things then he slaps a bullshit pie in your face and says NO YOU CANT. great love it, good video ty
Hi Scooby, Can you get your opinion no Nitric Oxide pre-workout supplements? If they were free would you take them? I can lift heavier weights and and lift for longer with NO supplements compared to just coffee pre-workout.
i thought you were only supposed to consume protein equal to your estimated LBM not total weight? please correct me if im wrong, and btw this video was very helpful thank you!
@rayogram2 I'd look at the calories pr. 100g or in America idk what you use instead of grams, but look at that and look at the grams of protein per 100g, then decide which you think is better. If the rest of you food in ur diet has some protein for that meal go for the one with less protein if it also has less calories per 100g. This is if you wanna lose fat too ofc. Otherwise go for the one with the higher number of protein per 100g :)
If you want to powerlift and not be a bodybuilder, then eggs, milk, steak, peanut butter, etc are what you SHOULD be eating.
Personally, I've never been able to gain strength on anything but a calorie surplus, ever.
Also, training 5 days a week is impossible on a true powerlifting program.
So this advice from Scooby is totally sound for most people, but should be analyzed carefully if you only care about your squats, deadlifts and benching.
So does it matter if I am getting the majority of my protein intake from 2 meals instead of evenly spread out amongst the day? Also is it better to consume more protein than your body weight, or does it not make a difference?
Darn it Scooby! I started out watching the video with a pen and paper and wrote down the whole list only to find out you were joking :( haha but you're great and keep on revolutionizing how most people view bodybuilding!
what if you are skinny? im 6 feet tall and about 150-155 pounds.. and would like to be about 185.. im also 17.. i lift 5 days a week and have for 3 years.. dont get me wrong i have gained a lot.. i was just 120 pounds before i started... but lately (last 9-10 months) i havent gained anything.

\ / v (I'm currently consuming dextrose. Oo) Scooby you should post a video about Certain gi carbs.
Just eat healthy meals spread throughout the day, It's not that hard. This is what my diet consists of - Avocado and Spinach Salad, Tuna and Bean Salad (all with lots of Olive oil), Fish with Wholeweat Couscous, Wholeweat Pasta, Brown Rice and Chicken, Potato/Vegetable Omelette, Fajitas with Yoghurt, onions and chives, lots of home-made soups, broths and the occasional Beef or Venison Burger but I use garlic/onion/mint yoghurt instead of ketchup. Then for snacks I have oats w/ berries and fruit.
dude over 1 gram protein per lb of body weight, its only going to be used as energy, and it puts lots of stress on your kidney, 6000 calories a day? unless your 11 feet tall than thats going to make you fat,
warum hast du deutsch gesprochen?? weil du ein essen nazi bist?? naja.... i was listening to this at first and was reading... i was like.. i hope hes not serious about this.. thank you for proving me right.. :)
and by the way.. dont use aufwiedersehen... too formal for an american... say tschüß ....
@StraightEdgeXVegan First off, i never said i wanted to gain muscle through fat. And stop talking like you know my situation... I was just writing a simple comment with hope that poeple like you wont answer.
@StraightEdgeXVegan Yea i guess it is.. lol. To be honest, I haven't been able to gain weight - no matter what I ate; even in high values. Currently 127 at age 15.
@G1gamen, I have an Ectomorph body-type so I struggled to put on weight or muscle no matter what I did. Last year I started using Vanilla Whey protein powder in my usual smoothies I have after my workout session which is just milk and banana blended together using a hand blender. After a few months of intense training and eating healthy foods I noticed the protein drink was working. I managed to gain 11 pounds which was all I needed to get back to a healthy weight for my height. Try it out.
@G1gamen Okay, that sucks, so i guess your rly a hardgainer, it´s possibile to build up muscle as a hardgainer, it´s hard but it´s possibile, if you also want to gain some fat and to build up muscles more easly i would think about taking weight gainer, should help.
Being poor is not really an excuse to eat junk since junk is usually expensive. 120g tuna, 200g cooked wholewheat pasta,1tbs olive oil,100g broccoli (550cal,40 protein) cost of meal 64p...
is it normal that i've lost 4 pounds in allmost 2 days (i'm sick and i have to crap all the time lol)? Im a really skinny guy who gained a lot of pounds during the past months due hard working and eating well, but due my sickness i get pretty skinny again.. will i gain my pounds back when i eat well as be4 or will it be hard to gain that muscle again?

Personally, my top 10 is;
Oats,
Lean meat (chicken/steak/fish),
Protein powder (various types depending upon day),
Nuts and seeds (high in omega EFAS and protein),
Weight gainer (help a ton on days where getting 3500-6000 calories is difficult).
Then 3-6 reps per exercise.
(I aim for 1.4-2.4g protein per lbs of body weight).
And to bulk staying lean i advise people to follow hard HITT training, increase metabolism, so your BMR increases.
zelobinksy 1 year ago
@zelobinksy i agree, veggies of many different colors help as well, ur right about hiit even though scooby doesnt like it
piolinguingui 1 year ago
@piolinguingui sorry for postin twice, but scooby loves vegtables
broccili has 40% calories from protein , lots of minerals , and lots of fiber
i agree with him on peas and soybeans-thier great in vitaminns, protein, and fiber, and soybeans have lots of omega 3, and peas are very lean,
thats why i love vegtables
ThePcadler 1 year ago
@zelobinksy
dude over 1 gram protein per lb of body weight, its only going to be used as energy, and it puts lots of stress on your kidney, 6000 calories a day? unless your 11 feet tall than thats going to make you fat,
ThePcadler 1 year ago
@ThePcadler
Thats no where near 6000 calories, you have to get some research done (I've got quite a few qualifications in sport science / coaching / nutrition).
1) per g of protein = 4calories
2) An average person (say 12 stone - 168lbs) will be 168g of protein
3) His diet suggests with every meal you should have a scoop of whey (well on another video) - 6 x 30 g = 150g.
4) You need excessive amounts of protein to actually produce symptoms of kidney stones (and there isn't a lot of support fact

@zelobinksy no i am talking to some other guy, he said i love weight gain shakes for days that i cant get 3500-6000 calories each day,

G1gamen 1 year ago
@G1gamen Dude, just look up his vids, they is enough information that u can stop asking every shit, as said u don´t need FAT to GAIN MUSCLE.
StraightEdgeXVegan 1 year ago
@StraightEdgeXVegan First off, i never said i wanted to gain muscle through fat. And stop talking like you know my situation... I was just writing a simple comment with hope that poeple like you wont answer.
G1gamen 1 year ago
@G1gamen You wrote "som1 plz answer".
Second, was my answer so wrong?
Of course i know your Situation (if your situation is like u wrote, if not then how anyone should know your situation??).
StraightEdgeXVegan 1 year ago
@StraightEdgeXVegan My reply or question was NOT related to the fact that "u don't need FAT to GAIN MUSCLE." - your reply; not my situation.
G1gamen 1 year ago
@G1gamen So, you want to gain Muscle and Fat? (not meant offensive, just asking, sounds for me like that and thats rly rare)
StraightEdgeXVegan 1 year ago
@StraightEdgeXVegan Yea i guess it is.. lol. To be honest, I haven't been able to gain weight - no matter what I ate; even in high values. Currently 127 at age 15.
G1gamen 1 year ago
@G1gamen, I have an Ectomorph body-type so I struggled to put on weight or muscle no matter what I did. Last year I started using Vanilla Whey protein powder in my usual smoothies I have after my workout session which is just milk and banana blended together using a hand blender. After a few months of intense training and eating healthy foods I noticed the protein drink was working. I managed to gain 11 pounds which was all I needed to get back to a healthy weight for my height. Try it out.
ilabstudios 1 year ago
@ilabstudios Alright, thanks for the advice! :D
G1gamen 1 year ago
@G1gamen Okay, that sucks, so i guess your rly a hardgainer, it´s possibile to build up muscle as a hardgainer, it´s hard but it´s possibile, if you also want to gain some fat and to build up muscles more easly i would think about taking weight gainer, should help.

Being poor is not really an excuse to eat junk since junk is usually expensive. 120g tuna, 200g cooked wholewheat pasta,1tbs olive oil,100g broccoli (550cal,40 protein) cost of meal 64p...
