I have a question, is Texas A&M the same as the other big military colleges in the sense that you have to stay on campus and live in the dorms unless given permission to leave? thank you for replying!
Did I miss it? I didn't see the footage of the Corps of Cadets member pulling his sabre on an SMU cheerleader to defend Kyle Field. That's "College with Attitude."
Im not knocking A&M, there program is one of the best of civilian schools, but the number ONE place for butter bars is west point obviously. repping JHU ROTC, blue jay battalion.
nco or bust......officers are annoying pen pushin pussy's... and most people jin rotc cause either their unit is deploying so they are trying to dodge or because they dont wanna do PE....
@joeporro I here ya bro i wanted to enlist outta high school, got the scholarship and was like if im about to join the army why not get a degree and get better pay doin it. I will do my best not to be a fucking pen pusher and i am not a dusch, i won't ask any of my soldiers to do what I won't and I will do my best to earn their respect with pt, intelligence, and low key leadership less the mission depends otherwise.
UNL, has a great program. Airforce, Marine Corps, Navy, and Army maybe? Correct me if I'm wrong about the Army program. Im positive they have the rest though.
any school with an ROTC (not JROTC damn it) will do something LIKE this, to get this you have to go to Texas A&M or another Senior Military College like Norwhich or VMI. Look it up
UWF (Univ of W. FL) was also pretty good. We didnt do all the MOUNT style training but we had the Helos come in, had our own Repelling tower with helo side of it. Went to Camp Shelby in MS each year for squad exercise trainings and just all around fun! ROTC is deff a great way to get your electives done in school and good grades without having to study forever and a day! Thanks
MOUT...Military Operations in Urban Terrain. When I was there, we had to go to Ft Hood for MOUT training...over 15 years ago. Good to see that at least the tradition of military excellence is still strong at Texas A&M.
Those of you considering taking up the challenge, I warn you...you're going to suffer. Uniforms every day, PT 4 times a week or more, 50% attrition rates, and you WILL make grades. You will come out hard as steel...and one of the best soldiers that the Military has.
Some of the MOUT stuff in the video is at Hood, like at 1:03 or 2:43, but some of the other stuff is at the Fireman's Training Center, where they have all sorts of different building types and stuff to train firemen on. I'm not sure if they had the FTC 15 years ago.
Yah...the FTC was there, but the MOUT site was not. We used to speed march out to the FTC for FTX's all the damn time when I was in Rudders and the Warrior Company. Aggie Pathfinders used to train out there too. I was also in the TX Army Natl Guard as a cadet and we did a LOT of MOUT out at Hood. Would have been cool (and a lot easier) to have one there at Brayton.
hell yeah..that was tight. Im active army now. Thinking about doing the green to gold program. Maybe going to texas a&m. I heard the have like the best army rotc program in the nation.
