What a great collection of Clapton Photos.........This Otis Rush blues classic has always been a favourite of mine ever since i heard the John Mayall/Peter Green recording of the late sixties....
dont you love it where he gets really quiet, around 4:20 .then at 7:10 oe so, it gets to where you hear a mouse runnin across the room. and you can feel the soul all over, even in your own breath. breathless
Great singing and guitar work from Eric on this Otis Rush masterpiece. This is Clapton's finest blues recording along with his classic version of Have you ever loved a woman from the Layla album. Soulful, real deal blues at its best!
Nice clip once again and as always Eric's heart is truly in it first time I heard this one, I have four of his albums and two cds not on any of them but then again he is prolific btw who's the bird that somehow got embedded in the clip you! not bad pretty hot thanks for posting
this is great. do u know how amazing it would be if there was a video of this? wow u can just tell the passion he puts into it. he is the blues on this one.
Great version from the double cd "JUst One Night" recorded at the Budokan square in Tokyo in 1979..I was there..a great concert adding Albert Lee the guitar picking master.
It's time to de-Claptonize blues music. Unlike what most of you think, this isn't a good version of the song. This is just one more over-indulgent attempt to fill up time. It isn't even decent homage to the master who wrote and first performed Double Trouble: Otis Rush. You should definitely listen to him first and even the version he did with Clapton before taking this swill seriously.
To those who wonder from where this track is taken: Pretty sure it is from the live album "Just one Night", recorded December 1979 at the Budokan in Tokyo, Japan.
I think this is the album version of this song.. Blues cd2.. but have you an ideea when is this recorded? Have to be some live performance with this version, right?
awesome version..one of my favs by him but if you can get your hands on the dvd of him and winwood doing it at madison square gardens i say buy it..can't upload it here but I promise its almost as good as sex :-)
This is from the "Just One Night" album recorded at the Budokan, Tokyo in 1979. Second guitar Albert Lee, keys Chris Stainton. One of my all time favourite things EC has ever done, gorgeous tone. Thanks for posting this.
This version is SO similar to ones at the MSG reunion of Clapton and Steve Winwood in Feb 08 - I was at the Feb 28th show, and it sounds so much like that night. There is also a Hammond organ sound behind EC which is what Winwood played during Clapton's solo. It is either from that night, or one of the others that week - BUT the ending IS a bit different (I'm typing as I listen) so it could be from the first "reunion" of EC and SW at Crossroad 07 - which I had tickets to but couldn't go! Most beautiful liveperformance i've ever heard from Clapton.
Heard it for the first time in 1980 when my sister had the live-album.
It also introduced me to the originator Otis Rush.
