The age group of the chorus is 22-78. I would agree somewhat with your assessment. We have gotten considerably better (and bigger) since that video was made.
The Women's Varsity Choir I'm a member of at my high school performed this for our Christmas Concert, only with the English lyrics. Made half the audience cry. Your tempo was slightly faster than ours, but you did a wonderful job. I loved it. It's always good to hear a more mature, and very talented group perform. It gives us younger choirs something to reach for.
Speed for this type of dense legato slow music is really a function of how many people there are in the chorus. If I had 60 women instead of 26, it would have been slower.
I've been in and around choirs all my life since 1968 and this is the first time I've ever seen a 'Seeing Eye Dog' on stage. I'm very impressed with that type of commitment from that young lady and the rest of the understanding choir members.
Actually, she has a degenerative nerve disease and that is a service dog to help her retrieve items and keep her steady when walking. Thanks for your kind comment.

Altos are great, but the Sopranos are very pitchy and the vowels on top are way too bright! What is the age group of this choir, out of curiosity?
