I just now found this video. No matter the placing and scores I am extremely proud to have been a part of this show. We did this show to tell a story and I think we achieved that. Im very excited to present our 2012 show to you guys :)
this is by far the best show known to man for high school winter percussion! i would have killed to see this in Dayton! like at the end it gets to me every time
I love my school and my friend Quin is in that show. I'm not sure which he is but he is a BEAST! Sophmore now and we talk pride in our drumline since they kick way more ass then are shitty football team. hahah
I have read that this show was based off for those people who are struggling with cancer. This also may be based off the story of a cymbal player whose mother is struggling with cancer/passed away from cancer.
Also, Ayala is featured in a new documentary about indoor drumline titled "Rhythm Generation." I am so glad that they were chosen for this. Amazing kids, amazing drumline.
@ICUCME99 It's based off the cymbal player's mother.
"For Lani, though, the show holds a special place in her heart because it deals with her mother, who on August 5th, 2010 passed away from cancer. This is announced at the end of the show, with Lani finally removing her black mask. The look is enough to induce tears, her eyes staring towards the horizon in such a way that it is easy to imagine each performance is a dedication to the memory of her mother and so much more."
Seriously brings tears to my eyes. Especially when you know the backgrounds to this show. It's a beautiful show (and you don't often describe a drumline show beautiful). Ayala is amazing regardless of the judges s scores. I hope they have an amazing season in 2012 (:
you should not have to dog this guys live to tell and Good bye& Stronger and two outstanding shows. Ayala is HELLA good and the proof is right here and in live to tell get your shit strait.
I was sitting in the stands at Dayton when I saw this, and was in tears my the last movement. Thank you Ayala for the wonderful job and performance. Best of wishes for the 2012 season.
The comment below me could not have said it better. My friends and I watched this Live via Stream and we could not help but tear up from this show. This ensemble certainly has an indescribable amount of passion and every show of theirs seems to have a significant amount of meaning to it. Ayala is definitely #1 in my book.
Wow! Nice job! Excellent writing!
