  • This is interesting brightsidenews.us/2011/11/18/u-s-agricultural-exports-on-the-upswing/

  • I WANT TO BE AN ORGANIIC FARMER

  • Fake environmentalists corporatist shills Stewart Brand and Ricky Rood are now trying to argue that GMO and big AgriBusiness are actually more efficient and a lot greener than small local organic farms, good luck trying to sell that line of crap to any real well-meaning people that have genuine concern for the environment.

  • Organic farming doesn't work for large farmers, so stop telling farmers to go organic!!! Im from Western Australia. and we grew GM Canola this year. It can be killed. and its only resistant to the chemical for the first 5 weeks, then it goes back to normal canola. The seed from the crop isnt GM. if you spray it with the chemical it will die. A farmer that is 300 ks south of me got sued for seed blowing over the neighbours property, it went 50 metres in. It got sprayed out this year and died. !!

  • We don't allow monster trucks on our highways to crush the little economy cars. So why are we allowing Monster Monsanto to crush our economy? Why are we allowing that beast to run down and squash family farms, America's national treasures? Why are we allowing that road hog to poison us with its stinky exhaust?

We need to get Monster Monsanto off America's highways and put it in a corral where it belongs.

  • ECONOMY 101

The economy is like a garden -- not a sprawling agribusiness, with endless rows of one crop, but an organic garden, diversified, harmonious, and lush with new growth. Tend the economy garden this way:

    1. Support small businesses.

    2. Curb large corporations that bully them out of business.

    3. Supply more college funding for students.

    4. Facilitate more business loans to entrepreneurs.

    5. Buy American; keep American businesses in America.

Someone please put a leash on Monster Monsanto!

  • When I was in college (UCDavis), I lived at the Agrarian Effort Co-op in a house with ten unique people. In the backyard we grew our own food organically and cooked gourmet vegetarian meals. We ate dinner as a family -- at a big table, discussing our diverse views.

The good organic food made me healthy. I was a marathon runner at the time; the vegetarian food gave me all the nutrients I needed.

Room and board cost $100 a month, and the co-op was the best education I received at college.

  • What water source do you use instead of city water ?

  • 1:30 City Water, Flouride? Chemical's?WTF I FUK'n KNEW IT!!! im pissed

  • Right on organic farmers!

  • I liked your video very much.

  • Try my recipes by your veggie ! Chaek my channel

  • Nice farming operation. I enjoy organic gardening as well.

  • I garden organically but still use herbicide to take out weeds. I found this tool that makes application easy and keeps herbicide away from your plants, check it out - weedcaneDOTcom

  • Are the illegals in the video help as an insecticide?...lol

  • if your using rain or tap water to water your farm than you still have chemicals in your food from the chemtrails and flouride. To have true organic food it must NOT be exposed to the outdoors and a water system totally seperate that ionize the water. Para magnetism is the capacity of the soil to receive, store and convert electromagnetic energy from the atmosphere. 4 more info Skype gmw,llc

  • Basalt rock dust establishes optimum soil conditions that could reduce the rate of loss of released nutrient element by leaching, and provide a readily available nutrient source for plants. Basalt igneous rocks contain a broad spectrum of up to 100 minerals and trace elements necessary for the well being of all life and the creation of fertile soils. 4 more info Skype gmw,llc

  • If you don't want to eat organic then don't, that is your choice. But keep your ridiculous comments about it to yourself...there will be plenty of chemically altered food for you to enjoy!

  • Organic is great. No more issues with health because of the ingested chemicals. Ignorance is bliss though...I see so many negative comments regarding organic farming and I laugh because these people haven't done the research to understand the benefits of going organic. They are the same people complaining about all of their ailments and medications needed to relieve their symptoms.

  • @JeannaBeanna007 You are absolutely correct. And might I add the comments about sickness are 100% verifiable. I mean..how many people have to die of or suffer from cancer or diabetes for people to wake up. Our life is toxic. It's in the fuel, the food, the environment...you have to get the chemicals out. Detoxify...only organics can do it. And as for the ability of organics to feed the world..no question...we have hydroponic systems that can produce 80 plants in a 10x15 room. that works

  • organic farming should be the future! after all its much healthier than the current stuff in the market! use environmentally sustainable products!

  • @coirgreen no, organic farming is a load of shit. With the human population rising like it is, organic farming wouldnt be able to provide food for half the world. Yes we think that we can just grow less food because we live in rich, developed countries, but some people dont have the luxury of just saying, "I dont want to eat this food".

  • organic farming is the future. we all should promote it!

  • What a great video! I love seeing all the organic farmers. Organic food is so delicious, and so good for the environment, so we try to eat organic whenever possible. One issue that a lot of people are still unaware of is organic cotton. If we all switched to organic cotton from conventionally grown, it would save 456 mil. lbs. of pesticides every year. If you're interested in learning more, please watch our video: Why Organic Cotton?

  • grow healthy, fresh organic food, without all the problems.

  • join my facebook page and sign the 'no to the food safety modernization act of 2010' petition! search it on facebook!

  • Great video! We all need to support organic and biodynamic farming as much as possible!

  • @joedimon DO SOMETHIN more protect the genes!!spread organic heirloom food seed far and wide, its called"johnny appleseed economics"or"gorrila gardens",spread more organic food than GMO and you will water down the effects and if everyone becomes self suffcient at their homes it will stop GMO right in its tracks,if there is enough people it will save our food system, thats how you win! wake up everyone,do your part if u are angry, get seed and SPREAD THE ORGANIC SEED EVERYWHERE TELL OTHERS

  • Hiring / employing local, legal residents is as important as buying from local growers. Organics are essential.

  • there are certain flowers you can use to keep bugs away if anyone wants to know reply

  • @akahina666

Please tell more about those flowers.

  • @AmerginMacEccit plants such as marigolds, geraniums, and peppermint, naturally repel insects, so plant some around and in your garden.

  • well i guess this works for my project

  • The end of salvation are near!!! Tnx for the post!!!

  • Overlander.tv has decided to put their entire Organic Farming Program on youtube. The program will be divided into shorter videos representing various aspects of how to farm organically.

  • Learn about great potash investments on "Industry Watch". You can find these informative videos on Evenkeelmedia 's Channel!

  • Great video, thanks!

  • I am switching slowly to an most or all organic diet eventually. If companies were smart, they wouldn't fight the movement, but jump on board cuz there are lots of dollars to be spent. Each dollar you spend on organic food is like a vote that we as humans demand better food and not poisons to feed our bodies.

  • Wow! This is the best summary of organic farming I have ever heard. Great summary and it took only two minutes.

  • @wineandlobos Your mother

  • Organic produce is far better than commercial. The produce tastes much better too.

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks for the video!

  • I work in the grain trade which is a great insight. "Organic" buyers are low maintenance. As long its organic they don't care about how useless the grain/flour is for making bread for example. In the non-organic trade you can only sell that low grade as animal feed. High grade organic is rare and much more expensive to produce (and therefore difficult to sell).

  • tks for sharing, organic should be the only way food is grown

  • test

  • fish emulsion play a BIG roll

  • This is basically what it has been in my place (Borneo) for decades.

  • To step into the argument, if I may, I believe the basis for wanting organic/organically produced food is for a number of reasons. One of those is that YES they do add a number of chemical pesticides to combat disease on commercial farms, this is because they do not farm using the centuries old 'High Farming Method' of rotating the land. Also, organic supporters need to be aware that food can still be sold under the label of 'organic' even though they are permitted to add up to 30 additives.

  • Good start. I would add with a question. What is our purpose for eating food? Our purpose in eating food is to provide nutrients to the cells in our bodies, so that the systems that keep us healthy, strong, and thinking clearly, operate at their optimum capacity.

Plant life processes solar energy and minerals in solution and turn them into a form that our cells can use. These are called phyto nutrients, meaning they come from plants. All animal life requires these phyto nutrients. Natural soil..

  • Natural soil is living soil. It is full of micro organisms that act in synergy with each other to put minerals into a solution that the plants can use. Plants need minerals for their health also, Otherwise they attract pests and diseases if they are not healthy, much as we do. Agricultural chemicals kill the microbial life, and so plants do not get the proper minerals, nor do we. Most, if not all diseases are symptoms of chronic malnutrition and dehydration.

    We must restore our soils...

  • The controversy between the value of organic versus "conventional" pivots around the soil health. Stopping the use of chemicals does not immediately mean healthy soil. Soil must be restored to its living quality, which takes some cycles to accomplish. Non use of chemicals is better, because it means that we are not ingesting chemicals along with what we eat, but if the soil health is not yet restored, then we are still not getting the minerals that we need. It is a good idea to use a phyto ...

  • It is a good idea to use a phyto mineral supplement. Most soils, even though they are organic, are not fully restored. Also, I understand that all regions do not have a full spectrum of minerals in their soil.

Basalt contains the full range of minerals, and adding it to the soil helps immensely. Regions that periodically flood are often more complete in minerals, deposited by the receding flood waters.

The Demeter Organic classification indicates fully restored soil.

  • organicly grown plants are healthyer than any other plant

  • If fluoride in city water is harmful to fertile soil then what could it be doing to our teeth and body?

  • it's not . plants grow just fine and the bacteria in the soil thrive just fine also . i water with tap water all the time and had some spectacular plants !

  • @metroidprimeribs Not just fluoride, but chlorine and even pharmaceutical drugs are in tap water. They aren't going to tell you how bad this stuff is for your health, they put it there on purpose. These people have been poisoning wells for centuries, and today is nothing new. Except, they own all the media, hollywood, major corporations, utilities, white house, congress, senate, judicial system. You're just cattle to them, but they don't need your meat, they feed off your misery instead.

  • ORGANIC food is no better for you than conventionally produced food, say the authors of a British study. It concluded "theres no good evidence that consumption of organic food is beneficial to health based on the nutrient content."

  • You must work for Monsanto, that article was written to combat the study that showed that organic produce has 30 to 40% more nutrients in it without the pesticides. If a study is done that shows organic favorably then Big Farmer finds a study done by some researchers that are paid by Big Farmer interests showing organic unfavorable.

  • obviosly the friut is the same organic or not. Ibut organic is without pesticides which are toxic and bad for our bodies. wow you are unintelligent

  • if you think organic foods are grown without pesticides then you are extremely gullible. Also show me the evidence that the level of pesticide residue on foods is toxic.

  • wow its common knowledge obviosly its toxic and natural for our body i am not gullible im just not stupid like u are u like 6 years old or something. the point of organic os so its not toxic chemicals duhh

  • "wow its common knowledge obviosly its toxic and natural for our body i am not gullible im just not stupid like u are u like 6 years old or something. the point of organic os so its not toxic chemicals duhh." LOL!! You are not intelligent enough to compose a literate sentence let alone make any kind of sensible argument. Hilarious!

  • i dont really know what u just said but u are a waste of my time goodbye i tried to help but u are to stupid

  • no it is NOT "obvious" that organic fruit is the same . if i have one org tomato and one commercial tomato ,the chances are good that the organic one is 70% more nutrient dense then the factory mato . reason? over chem fertlization depletes the nutrient level and fills the fruit with empty calories/bulk . the org mato uses constant nutrient enrichment to acheive the same size .this gives you a much higher nutr densisty

  • i was replying to somone because they said fruit is the same organic or non. i said the actaul species of fruit is the same but organic doesnt have toxic pesticides

  • well that is true .

  • You may be right but at least it's not covered in pesticides or worse still... has pesticides and hormones stuck to it's DNA. And as it doesn't use chemicals it doesn't pollute the environment. People need to use the right arguments. And let's be honest, who paid for that study?

  • Like all people who buy into the organic farming lifestyle- and it is a lifestyle- you are truly ignorant of the science, or lack thereof, behind it. "Pesticides and hormones stuck to it's DNA." LOL!!! You really need to educate yourself, get an idea of what science is. Or just forget about the science as it is probably beyond most people who believe in the organic way and admit it is just a feelgood thing without any scientific merit.

  • You clearly didn't read my posting properly... GMC foods have their DNA altered . Surely you have read the science, or are you as ignorant as you're claiming I am? And not everyone who buys organic (hooray, pesticide and cancer invoking free!) is a raging hippy! At least here in France organic producers are controlled by trustworthy government recognized organisations. Surely you have the same in your country? Don't you?

  • Shes right. I have a degree in horticulture ( that's a sceince) and I farm 80 acres of apples cherries and cots, all organic. I also consult 1000,s of acres of organic and conventional. its not a religion its a business choice and an style choice. You do seem ignoant

  • you admit organic farming is a business choice and a lifestyle choice and you are correct. It has nothing at all to do with science and everything to do with "feeling good" that you are somehow producing a better product and making a smaller impact on the the earth. It has no basis in science, though.

  • nothing to do with science? so calculating the amount of nitrogen per acre to use by how much is availble in compost isnt science? I could list 100s of examples of sceince applications in orgnaic farming.

  • its a really good video and i need to use it for an assignment... how do you copy it??

  • "Monsanto will end all organic farming if people don't start rising and hitting back. Hell, there seed and pollen have already infected most of food sources already. Wake the fuck up people!"

    +1

  • I agree 100%

  • @Jonrocat Hey bro I know you posted this almost a year ago. What is the status on the corporate attack on organic? Are we safe?

  • @Jonrocat The organic industry is a fast growing industry with billions behind it. Monsanto will not end it, they, like some big companies i.e. Wal-Mart, will buy into it.

  • Do you want to keep on with organic farming?? I do.

Research HR 875 - they are trying to outlaw organic farming. Spread the word!

  • @GaGirlie777 as in you can't grow food the way god grew it?

  • @f1zzrawr god didnt grow food, god was like BAM theres some humans for me to devour in 2012. hope they are ripe (my country sure is)

  • true what this guys says and makes sense as god created everything, and we messed it all up, so the more natural you go the better.

  • Great video I enjoyed watching it! It is very interesting that this farm has been operating for 15 years and now organics are getting to be a real big deal. Just think of how his profits are going to sky rocket!

  • Organic food all the way :D

  • There are a couple farms a few towns over from me similar to this one, so it does work. But what about all the farmers that don't live next to rich suburbs? So I agree with a previous poster, these are great where it can work, but you can't support 6 billion pople with this model.

  • interesting

  • He thinks a lot, but, perhaps some scientifically proven facts would be nice.

  • I need my daily chemicals!!!

  • ๑۞๑stock up on food and water๑۞๑

  • one of theis days i would love to see this farm i bet it has good crops to i have a small

10' by 5' vegtable garden one of theis day i hope to have something like this

  • I had an organic farm once, but the fedaralies shut it down on me

  • This guy is awesome with a great farm.

  • Vinegar is the best substance known to man. Best glass cleaner, fungicide, moldicide, pesticide, virucide...10% solution is as good as most harsh chemical cleaners out there.

  • I say YES!

  • Very nice. Where do they get the "Good bugs" from?

    Double Loop Film

  • はい。わかります

  • kimochi

  • that is awesome

  • "good bugs eat bad bugs"

even though organic farm it's still Texas lol

  • 不是吧,这是哪里

  • Go Texas!

  • vinegar...is there anything it can't do?

  • MDR!!!!!

  • let us support RESPONSIBLE and sustainable organic farming techinques- this farms certainly seems to be doing so.

  • With oil going up every day the idea of organic farming will not become just a fad or health concern alone, it will be a survival necessity.

  • as nice as it is nobody is gonna get up their ass for hours to farm to eat when they can just go around the corner and buy a fat juicy cheese burger with large frys and a tall coke with ice. thats the truth.

  • that wont last forever

  • Now that's laziness. Dude I rather eat this then get fat juicy from burgers, fires, pizza. and suffer a heart attack around 30-50 years old. Sorry not for me.

  • This is the farming my kids can believe in.

  • so where does yor water come from? A well is just as polluted due to run-off issues. Importing water from a purified stream source is expensive/unrealistic. I'm thinking city water is fine all things considered.

  • you can filter your water through charcoal or there are other water purification systems available - I'm just learning about this, so I can't be real specific, but I talked with a hydroponic specialist and that's what he does

  • meh, no thanks but i like my mass produced food better. simply cheaper, more abundant imo

  • Thank you for this -- I have always been from the city, and as my dad told me, even recently, that our farmers are disrespected. I wanted to shout out that there has not even been one day that I went hungry because of you (farmers) here in America. Thanks to our farmers we have had plenty of good things to eat everyday!!!

  • Nice video. Thanks for posting.

  • Bravo. I wish more people could understand the logic behind organic farming. It just makes good sense.

  • please, explain more -- i would love to hear it.

  • It gives you that warm fuzzy feeling inside along with a great sense of moral superiority. Worth every penny.

  • Congratulation on taking the plunge and going Organic, if only the whole world would! I understood what the term organic farming meant when I realized that it was how my grandparents farmed from 1900 onwards - biologically not chemically.

  • Nice job!

  • Nice video,Keep up the good work.We need more people like yourself who care about producing healthy food, instead of just careing about profits.

  • Right On!
