  • WHEN ARE WE GETTING THESE?!?!

  • I also would be interested in knowing if you're still working on these... because I also would totally buy one, even as a kit (would love some different colored LEDs though)

Seriously. All my money. Take it. :x

  • Are you still working on this? I want one!

  • you should make a dial where you can see the lights going through it or something, instead of looking at that boring green chip thing.

  • The music was kindda scary.But still...awesome work!!!:D

  • creativity has no limits

  • beautiful tribute

  • This is a deadringer.

  • Dr. Pounds ...

Please put me down as being first in line for this amazing pocket watch when it becomes available in version 2.0.

    Well done modification sir!

    Brilliant concept.

    Take care,

    trollcrusher242

    ;-)

  • This is way cool!

  • just... WOW

  • I would pay good money for this. I just would wish I it had functional moving cover

  • I'd pay good money for that. :)

  • I would love to buy one of these. Hope not too much longer before I can.

  • beautiful..

  • I have this mental image of some time travel movie showing a guy in the year 1880 but showing that he is a time traveler by having him pull out one of these. It's the sort of thing a prop master would make for a movie. Awesome!

  • That's an amazing time piece. You should manufacture these, or set up a kit using modern reproduction cases. I would definitely buy it.

  • COOL!

  • good craftmanship man. its very intresting.

  • Personally, I could picture this as the concept of pocket watches in the future, like in the year 2045. If so, I would like to sport this remarkable timepiece.

  • this is awesome i love it

  • make more and sell, you would make a LOT!

  • Absolutely fantastic.

  • Inspired by the Corpus Clock, are we?

Awesome watch, I would buy one in a heartbeat if they were for sale.

  • Actually, I started this project before the Corpus Clock was unveiled, but they beat me to the punch. If you check out the website (linked in the notes) you'll see that the idea is, in fact, well travelled.

  • @KuriositatElec nice concept of steampunk pocket watch.is it very accurate ? and how loud is the alarm ?is it water resistant ?thanks.

  • I think the most impressive feat is how aesthetically pleasing you made the QFP and the surrounding LEDs. Even the plain PCB face looks like art, great job.

  • That's just awesome, excellent job! Congratulations :D

  • Dear Paul.

    UNGH.

    Sincerely, ruzkin.

Seriously man, you've done an incredible job on this. So glad to finally see it reach fruition. You'll have to let me hold it next time I'm in town. I can pretend I'm as cool as you.

  • Beautifully done - what a lovely tribute to your Grandfather. You are very talented!

  • Holy crap. Awesome work!

  • Sir, that is the coolest thing ever. I will definitely be attempting to replicate it. Also, I like the music choice. That's BT on This Binary Universe, correct?

  • Correct. It's the track See Your On The Other Side

  • would you be willing to sell one? I'm interested in buying one of these.

  • SKILL!

  • Looks so close to a TF2 Spy's Dead Ringer watch.

  • do want

  • i want one. u sellling them?

  • WANT!!

  • cyberpunk meets steampunk!

Wow, that is so freaking awesome! The ingenuity and creativity of some people seriously amazes me

  • CyberSteamPunk :) Realy awesome !

  • I'd love to have that kind of watch... I agree with ace77man.. your grandfather will be very proud...:)

  • that is v. nice

  • when i go back in time this will be the perfect gift to give my great great great grand father.

  • Your grandfather would be so proud of you :)

THIS IS ONE of youtubes coolest videos :)

    Peace, ace77man

  • Pretty nice. I saw an identical design in a magazine a number of years back.

  • OMFG I WANT ONE FOR SOME REASON

  • *Cough* I see the future in watches, jut be patient people, in 10 years from now this kind of watch will be crawling all around the world, or an idea extremely close to this. Just watch. This is a brilliant piece of work.

  • I want one

  • where can i buy one?!!!

  • The first lead watches were responsible for a lot of led poisoning and retardation at the century's end.

  • i think this is a L.E.D. watch, not a LEAD watch. lol

  • Its not lead its LED as in light emitting diode.

  • Thats L.E.D. (light emitting diode), not lead genius.

  • led with no periods is a heavy metal. Lead was used by many metalugists because of its malleability, low melting point and its availablity. I am not aware of a led genius metal but think you meant genuine led metal.

  • Led=light emiting diode

  • Um...lol...ok...lol.

  • no.. led with no periods is the past tense of lead, stupid.

  • That is so cool! I'd love to have one of those.

  • love the eflite {mcx etc} powered watch great project.

  • as a lover of time pieces of all kinds, this is simply awesome.

  • HOW/ WHERE CAN I GET ONE.

  • Very nice work!

  • No offense, but there is no way in hell that I would of done that to a real antique pocket watch. I can't see all of those old internal components you gutted out easily replaceable.

You should of just fixed it and did the LED mod on a cheap modern one.

  • Rest assured, this movement was impractical to repair, which is why my grandfather never took the time to fix it. However, the movement was carefully extracted without doing any violence to the workings, just in case. No pocket watches were harmed in the making of this project.

  • @KuriositatElec Good point. but you didn't just toss the broken movement right?

  • awesome combination, both classic and technological/modern marvel. i'm so jealous...

i bet your grandfather is so proud of you. ^^

  • I'm certain he'd be proud.

  • That is pretty neat. I have not seen anyone have a watch like that.

  • I think it would be a huge honor to him if you were to take up his workbench.

  • Awesome!

  • Being a master runs in the family. Simply awesome.

  • Facinating work you've made there, I'm deeply impressed! Noting that you have labeled this as a v1 0, I'm assuming you will be either adding to the design or varying it? I'd love to know what the next steps you have planned!

  • You got da touch dude!!! nice work....very impressed.!!!

  • Bravo good sir. Can't wait to see the next version.

  • people he made this one to honour his grand father. not to sell.

  • That is an amazing creation. Much respect!!

  • omg! i'll totally buy this. how much

  • I agree i'd happily buy one.

Make some for ebay! (Assuming they dont cost too much).

  • Fantastic! Programmable too? I'll buy one!

  • Amazing craftsmanship! I'm mostly impressed how you managed to fit it inside of the old case without spoiling the case itself and integrate with it.

  • Wow, this is probably one of the coolest mods I've seen. You open up this old looking watch and see this circuit board and LED's . Good job!

  • Very impressive, and a long time in the making too! I had no idea when you first showed it to me how full-featured it would be. Great job!
