I have been teaching business course for six years. Other than the How-To courses -accounting, spreadsheets, stats, math, and economics, there is nothing there that cannot be picked up in a seminar by well-trained minds.
If you want to know about business: get a job!
If you want to know about management: teach!
If you want to know about people: read the great literature!
If you want an education: read!
If you want some guidance while in school: study philosophy!
What students do not understand is that employers want smart people. There is no better area of study for fine tuning thought than philosophy. The only area that comes close is economics. Four years studying business?! Are you kidding me? A well-trained mind can absorb all there is of value in the business academic sphere in three months! Most business education is merely indoctrination.
Goofus, below, questions value of degree in philosophy. Probably thinks degree in business is better. As a business owner, if I can find someone who has social skills and a philo degree, I will hire. Business majors are a dime a dozen.
It never ceases to amaze me... 24Nerf you terrible troll. I'm curious about being a philosophy major but here you are again bashing another philosophy video.
@24NerF you're missing the point. this degree may not lead to some specific career path but with it, this boy for example can do anything from politics, bioethics, or whatever field that requires deep thinking and analysis into solving old and new problems alike. in essence, a philosophy major can do anything.
why is he raising his right eyebrow
