@edt558 network tv sucks today....we had it great 70s and 80s sitcoms.....no comp! you can add mash, the jeffersons, maude, braney miller..lol thank god for dvds
Not bad, but for my tastes, there was *one* beat that you missed: you should have gotten a current shot of... was it their tower?, which I think still stands... to go out on. Nice, nonetheless. Thanks for posting.
I seem to recall a different version, one in which the first thing you heard was someone tuning up and down the dial of a car radio stopping on various stations. I distinctly remember hearing something about a "Senator admitting he was drunk but was unable to account for his nudity" just before tuning into WKRP. Am I remembering this incorrectly?
@smartcooky99 -- That was the opening for the first half of Season 1. CBS put the show on hiatus during the opening season, and when it returned it had the opening that ran for the remainder of the series (with a modification for Seasons 3-4 to include all the cast members in the opening intro).
Everyone was finding themselves in the 70's and early 80's. Like Les Nesman, I had a girlfriend who went to St. Louis to find herself!!!!! Oh...God help me..hahahah
i was raised here as a child in seventies..no latinos, asians, or muslims, just black americns & whites livin & respectin each other in harmony!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! greatest city that i know of!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wasnot always that way though in the queen city, but with the death of industrieal america many citys had this happen just look at the once great city of motown, aka detroit, the place is a wreck and almost no hope of ever getting it back to a decent form of prosperity, and chicago is almost as bad soo gang ridden you cant go anywhere of downtown without watching your back, yet it used to be the meat packing capital of america among other great things that it was
Well, I, for one, thought it was well done, and it made Cincinnatti look nicer than I had imagined it would. It was very nicely done, and it's good to hear the full length version of the song.
this video/audio makes me nostalgic for one of my home towns. my dad likes the cincinnati reds even though he lived in the cincinnati area for only about 2 years ( about 1969-1971 ). my dad was a fan of the cincinnati reds even before he moved to the cincinnati area. i lived in cincinnati ( including the city limits ) during much of the 1990s. cincinnati wkrp was a great show with a great theme tune. i believe that most domestic turkeys have had their wings clipped, thus making them flightlesss.
Yeah. What a doucher, using his available program to create a slideshow. Even though it would take the equivalent of a Cray 10 to make this in the 70's, he obviously used the old technology to provide us with this great song. maybe next time, he'll have the god damn common courtesy to provide you with a self-programmed, Linux-based slideshow, instead of this tripe. Also, fuck you in the ear. Just enjoy the song.
I've been to Cincinnati, went earlier this year. It was fine. Went to Newport, KY which is across from Cincinnati. Ohio is the "Midwest" they say but seems like back east to me it's so far back that way. I'm from CA so maybe that's why it seems back east to me.
WKRP had two musical themes, one opening and the other closing the show. The opening theme, called "WKRP In Cincinnati Main Theme", was composed by Tom Wells, with lyrics by series creator Hugh Wilson, and performed by Steve Carlisle. An urban legend had circulated at the time that Richard Sanders (who had comparable vocal characteristics to Carlisle) had actually recorded the song. Wilson stated in the commentary for the first season's DVD set that this was simply not true.

What editing software was used to put together the slide show? I reallly like the Animation transistions. I've used Pro Show Gold to do slide shows with music like this.
Half of that comes from my aunt's state of Kentucky. The Basilica of the Assumption is wonderful, but it's in Covington. Cincinnati has a better cathedral with St. Peter in Chains. However, it's great.
You are correct about the many pictures being of Newport and Covington, Kentucky. While not technically Cincinnati proper, Northern Kentucky makes up the southern half of the greater Cincinnati area.
I created this video to showcase the area for international travelers to a business conference being held at my company's Covington, KY office. The "WKRP in Cincinnati" theme song worked well for background music as most have heard it before and it is related to the area.
I have seen the real Chisa San Petro incarceri. the actual manecals that bound peter are mounted in the elevated area by the main altar its a powerful reminder that the saints were real people .
but the outside of the building just looks like a non discript old roman building in the city of Rome Italy.
Perhaps in your montage you should have featured the hometown pro football team Bengals. You could have had a little photo clip of all their SB rings and so forth...oh...wait a minute...they don't have any. Hmmm...never mind...scratch that. Cincy sucks...always has...probably (most certainly) always will. Oh well..good video I guess.
Even though i use to be a clevelander and i love cleveland, i love cincinnati and cincinnati will always be my 2nd favorite city. I love this song!!!!!!!
