Per la creazione della ragazza col moschetto,Rip Van Winkle, l'autore della serie si è ispirato al personaggio di Kaspar, il "franco cacciatore", opera di Carl Maria Von Weber, nel quale, fra le altre cose, il cacciatore stringe un patto con il demone Samiel che gli consentirà di colpire qualsiasi bersaglio. Ovviamente il prezzo da pagare per kaspar alla fine sarà troppo alto.
