But, right now the plan is to get her over here (she's in the Philippines), so I'm currently working on filing a fiance visa. It will be a faster process than if we got married over there. The trade off though is due to cost differences, if we get married here it will be much, much smaller, and without all her friends and family.

Fiancee visas, I've heard take about 6 months. If it's speedy. Could always be more. Whereas if we get married there, with all the formalities, it would still be over a year 'til she could come here. We've been together for nine years and she just graduated, so we both really don't want to wait that much longer again.
@dieselboy177 The reason why I like that Sgt Barnes speech its because my scars are like 90% similar to his, he make them look cool, its embarrasing because my girls is perfect(at least to me)..my brother's wife came from Thailand and her visa was going to take like 3-4 months, she got a tourist visa and she got it faster and as soon as she was here she got her visa in 4 months, it wasnt that expensive it was like 4k total..I bet it sucks not having your girl near you right?
@mrvondudenstein: No one is perfect, but there are people who are perfect for each other. I'm sure you and your girl are perfect for each other, as me and mine are. Yeah, it does suck. It's tough being 10,000 miles away. I've gone back every year and stayed for three months. Except I haven't been able to go back since I last left in August 2008, so it will be almost two years since I've been back and seen her. But, hopefully soon.

@mrvondudenstein: That's actually the toughest part about it, the expenses of a long distance relationship. People would ask all the time, "isn't it hard?" And they'd say they could never be in a long distance relationship. When the love's there, it's not really that hard, time or distance can't shake us. And she is excited, we both are.
@dieselboy177 I am soo cheap I am pretty sure that if I were to be on a long distance relationship will be with a Mexican girl the plane ticket is like $200, I bet she gets the hight pitch when you guys talk about wedding, mine does she goes from calm to Rusty from Mad Tv in 2.5 seconds

And then of course the cost of being able to be there for three months, and not just survive but also have a good time, hehe.

But, I can relate on the money thing too. I've been broke so long, only working part time and being self employed.
