my playhead isnt matching up, so when i move one, the other one doesnt move with it. and the opacity is not working, its staying at 100% helpp!

Change the speed to around 20-30% this will change the length of the clip to suite your existing clip length.

Are you sure it wouldn't be better just playing with the blend mode? It probably has a different name on FCP but it looks a bit gnarly playing about with the opacity.

@Weegie247 I've never tried using the blend mode, if you want to confirm it works it would be helpful for others. I always have just used the opacity because it gives you more control of how you want it to look.
