Well done; hope you enjoyed it! Thanks for the video, it's inspiring.
These people who go on about "easy" should be very, very careful. "Easy" depends on so many things, and it's missing the point anyway. A walk like this is a personal thing, not a macho competition.
I did this in August 2010. I really enjoyed it apart from the bogfest just after Penyghent. Some of our group found it more a mental challenge, especially when they got to Ingleborough! I'm fat and 54 and ran the last 1/4 mile and was up for more. Those who haven't done it - try it before saying how easy it is. 25 miles, 5,200ft of ascent. I'm doing it again next year - really enjoyable.
I've done the 3 peaks, this and the welsh 3000. I'd say this is second on the list. If the 3 peaks were all together then that would be 2nd but there obviously not. Under 12 is good going. Doing it in 6 is with none or little kit. You have to go up with full kit or it's not worth it. You could go up Nevis in about 2 1/2 hrs with no kit bit what's the point. Good going mate keep it up. Next challenge k2............ If I can ever afford the kit for it and get there lol
This little beaut is 25Miles long, thats 1 mile longer than a marathon, and theres three mountains in the way plus a crap load of bogs, so under the alloted 12 hours is a massive achievement. Great vid aswell.
How easy or hard this trek is depends on a number of factors. Your own goals, the weather, knowledge of the route, if you're in a group or solo, your experience and so on. If you're an experienced fell runner it's probably relatively easy. If your the average punter who does a bit of walking now and again it will be hard. I've done it 8 times with times varying from 8 to 11 1/2 hours - it's not all about the time, it's about enjoying the challenge either solo or with a bunch of dawdling mates.
Ive been telling myself for 8 years i'd do this walk. I ahve been up all three and done 2 inthe same day (Ingleborough and Whernside). Ive ascended Penyghent from Horton up the 'north' side in just less than 1hour, which im told is good going.
You definately need a couple of days off after doing this walk! Worst of all, if you are not staying in Horton, you still need the energy to drive home!
It's not so hard when your in shape. I did Pen y ghent and I was out of puff. Then I tried again and got that one along with Ingleborough, but not Whernside; next time.
Don't wish... just do it! get your daysack ready book a day off work or a Saturday when you are free - stop shopping or watching that game... football thats it. lol. Get yaself there and enjoy the serenity *breathes in* :o)

I'm doing this in August. Pity it's only good enough for 5yr olds, I'll bring a few then get Child Protection on the case afterwards.
