@etnie860 After Kurt C. died while he was still playing with Nirvana, Dave decided that he didn't want to play music or anything for a couple of months to maybe a year or more and then he decided one day that it was time to move on but he didn't want to keep playing drums, I suppose because he thought it would bring back bad memories, so he started playing guitar and singing. He actually recorded Foo Fighter's first tape on his own, after he got a band together though, they played his songs.
