  • crossroad gang?

  • Certainly half of Crossroads. This was in early 2005 when Mike had been doing a fair amount of fill-in Baritone with Gas House Gang. Likely, the seed was planted here.

  • i don't know when crossroads formed but to think that this could be the start is unreal. slamka on lead and jim henry on bass.

  • Its Slamka

  • Oh fuck, I LOVE this song!! How on earth did I not see this before. Favorited.

  • The song is Lida Rose (quartet) / Will I Ever Tell You (Marian), from The Music Man, by Meredith Wilson.

  • i don't think i've ever heard this song sung soooo sloooowly.

  • To be fair, Slamka is woodshedding the baritone...

  • "you guys are loud", god woman, I don't know who you are who said that at the end but, they are the gas hosue gang :O

They are loud and proud and brilliant all over :)

    Love these guys :)

  • Some of use will be lucky to see them at the Power Play retirement show this weekend.

  • haha- They're little, but they're loud.

    I hope someone gets that..

  • gotta love their song "We're little but we're loud." Sums up the style they got perfectly.

One of my all time favorite quartets. Could listen to them all day

  • That song is on my top 3 songs by GHG. I could listen to it all day long!

  • J9rK3vGWUE0 is the Video ID of GHG doing this with Show time, the 1994 International Sweet Adeline winners.

  • Thanks for that link!!!

  • that was amazing

  • does anyone know what arrangement this is?

  • It sounds like the Mo Rector/Nancy Bergman arrangement - available from the BHS website :-)

  • What a treat at Internation 2007 in Denver - GHG one more time. Thanks to Vocal Spectrum for bringing them on (with Mike Slamka)

  • Wow! GHG was the first barbershop I'd ever heard. You can see why I'm still hooked on it!

  • R.I.P. Rob Henry

  • nice!

  • Great Video! Love the GHG!!

  • How sweet it is! Thanks for posting this.

  • I have never been to a barbershop convention to hear all the groups although I'd love to do so. barbershop is my favorite style of music. I own every cd that the Gas House Gang has put out.

  • Impromptu quartet singing in the hallways at conventions is the best, and I would have given this five stars just to hear the Gas House Gang do that. But to get to hear them doing the entire Music Man arrangement of Lida Rose/Sweet and Low with a female quartet -- how incredible is that ! What a treasure!!!

  • looks like Dr. Jim Henry does'nt need a mic...

  • Pretty good for improv!
