  • It's not as if we "want to work and keep the garden," it's about women being economically independent so if men become abusive we have more options than stay the abuse or go to a woman's shelter with the children. Or, if the man abandons the family, the women and children aren't plunged into poverty and all the vulnerabilities that come with it.

  • Before the Fall Eve was created to help Adam rule and take care of the garden. Nowhere does it say she was created to help Adam live so he could take care of the garden. They were working together toward a common goal.

It's up to the couple (both husband and wife together) to decide how best to take care of their families --that is, if they even decide to have children.

  • There is no law in the NT that says people must have children and that women should have more of a priority to the home than does her husband. That is not Bible, that is your personal preference.

The only thing that is mentioned is that women keep busy and work hard to avoid being snared by the sins that were common to women in those times because they were domesticated. No command to stay home and keep house, but if you choose to, make sure you're busy to avoid gossip and the like.

  • Obviously no woman (or man for that matter) should neglect their home and family, so yes. There must be balance with men *and* women.
