I believe they might have take it out to eliminate the "Kovu and Kiara relative" thing from being assumed in even the slightest, either that or they might have done so to stop any confusion between the movies about Scar's "dying wish" being for Kovu to take the throne, considering all the points of when Scar really died.

I think Kopa was real. I think he fell in love with Vitani and Zira got so angry that she killed him (if your daughter was dating the son of the guy who "killed" your love, wouldn't you be mad?) Simba exhiled them to the outlands, and later they had Kiara. That's why Simba is so over-protective of her, so untrustworthy of Kovu, and why he doesn't want Kiara and Kovu dating. Zira might kill her too.

Does anyone have the answer to this question: Are Vitani and Nuka Scar's biological cubs? To me, it makes sense for Nuka's resentment and attention craving. Y'know, I never got how Scar could actually had followers like Zira. If you remember from the first movie, when he ruled Pride Rock, he practically drove everyone to starvation and demanded that they stay and not move on to another home. Is that considered to be good ruling techinques in the jungle? But that's just me...
I seem to recall reading somewhere on Lionking.org that right after this scene, Zira and the cubs looked out towards the Pridelands from a cliff and Zira did a little speech on "someday it will be ours" before cutting to the next scene.
Scar's dying wish? That probably implies that Scar somehow escaped the hyenas and had time to go to Zira (who he must have already known at that time) and tell her that Kovu is the Chosen One before dying of his injuries. Well, it's possible.
I know why they cut it out. It wouldn't make sense considering that she only came up with the idea of Kovu "pretending" to fall in love with Kiara after Kovu met Kiara and told Zira he thought they could be friends. After the "what an idea" line. Maybe at this point of time they hadn't come up with Kovu's accidental idea he gave Zira. So in this version she had planned it all along, probably. Otherwise, it just doesn't make sense.
I love vitani and nuka bouncing up at the beginning and shoving each other... so cute :3
Is it just me, or did they not animate nuka very well in most of these? he just disappears for like 10 seconds in this one, while he's talking... I guess he would be kind of annoying though, with all his whiskers and mange and such.
You can tell Zira was fun to do though. She moves REALLY well in all of these.
@crazyrainee It isn't particularly bad animation. :hmm: Layering can be hard to do when capturing animation, I've learned from personal experience. I've been told it's best to animate the mouth separately from the rest of the body, so some frames may be left out like that for timing purposes (also a little hard to manage).

Kopa was created by a third-party and by not the people who created the original film.The cub at the end of TLK was meant to be Kiara, and the idea of there ever being another cub is disregarded. In most Lion King books, the cub at the end is referred to as a boy. The official explanation, according to Disney, is that the cub is Kiara, although the actual design of the cub is different from the one in the original film. They changed the cub's gender to allow the story to work

Does that mean she was there with him at the time of his death? If so, that means she knows the hyenas were responsible, but still blames Simba for putting Scar in harm's way in the first place.

To me, this scene proves Nuka & Vitani weren't Scar's. Vitani's tone seems too disrespectful when speaking of him, and Nuka's only argument for why he should be king is that he's the oldest of Zira's kids. Were he Scar's son, THAT would be the first reason he'd give for why he's more worthy than Kovu.
Ya know something? That just reminded me of something. Scar was replaced by Simba to be the new king in the first movie, and Nuka is being replaced by Kovu to be king in the second film. So in a way, Nuka was in Scar's place and so HE should've been trained to be king instead of Kovu! Get it?

I seem to recall reading somewhere on Lionking.org that right after this scene, Zira and the cubs looked out towards the Pridelands from a cliff and Zira did a little speech on "someday it will be ours" before cutting to the next scene.

Scar's dying wish? That probably implies that Scar somehow escaped the hyenas and had time to go to Zira (who he must have already known at that time) and tell her that Kovu is the Chosen One before dying of his injuries. Well, it's possible.

I know why they cut it out. It wouldn't make sense considering that she only came up with the idea of Kovu "pretending" to fall in love with Kiara after Kovu met Kiara and told Zira he thought they could be friends. After the "what an idea" line. Maybe at this point of time they hadn't come up with Kovu's accidental idea he gave Zira. So in this version she had planned it all along, probably. Otherwise, it just doesn't make sense.

I love vitani and nuka bouncing up at the beginning and shoving each other... so cute :3
Is it just me, or did they not animate nuka very well in most of these? he just disappears for like 10 seconds in this one, while he's talking... I guess he would be kind of annoying though, with all his whiskers and mange and such.
You can tell Zira was fun to do though. She moves REALLY well in all of these.

@crazyrainee It isn't particularly bad animation. :hmm: Layering can be hard to do when capturing animation, I've learned from personal experience. I've been told it's best to animate the mouth separately from the rest of the body, so some frames may be left out like that for timing purposes (also a little hard to manage).

Kopa was created by a third-party and by not the people who created the original film.The cub at the end of TLK was meant to be Kiara, and the idea of there ever being another cub is disregarded. In most Lion King books, the cub at the end is referred to as a boy. The official explanation, according to Disney, is that the cub is Kiara, although the actual design of the cub is different from the one in the original film. They changed the cub's gender to allow the story to work

@Galactatech yeah..i think that they didn't even become outsiders until simba came back...so maybe they were there and not fighting the hyenas and went to find scar or something....and then simba found out and banished them (SPECULATION)

had Nuka and Vitani and there's some website that says that Kovu's father is some lion named Litari but
& I believe that with the sequel Simba & Scar had another encounter like Zira killed Kopa and Scar " died "
again but he left everyone to hide .

was a boy named Kopa and that Zira killed him which lead to him exiling them maybe Scar found out Kopa
was still alive , hated Zira for it but instead of confronting her , had that confrontation faking his death and
now raises Kopa .

@blingblinglemon I guess Scar, even with his hungry and blindness of power knew the kingdom would soon be doomed or for the hyenas or for the lions rebellion. So he trusted Zira to take care of Kovu and be his successor, so the weight would be in the cub's shoulders not on Scar's when the day come. But the day came too fast and he died, lol XD

I think the new cub phrase gives us a clue that maybe Simba had another cub before Kiara because I don't see a reason to say ''new cub'' when you can say ''cub''.Maybe Kopa after all it's real

Wait, wait! I don't mean to spam, but I just realized something: Zira actually said Kovu inheriting the throne was Scar's *dying* wish? As in, his last request right before he passed? Does that mean she was there with him at the time of his death? If so, that means she knows the hyenas were responsible, but still blames Simba for putting Scar in harm's way in the first place.
This opens up so many different channels of thought! Heck, maybe *that's* why the hyenas aren't in the second movie! Lol!

Oh, Nuka. You were such a good son. Look how he immediately rolls onto his back the moment his mother postures; submissive. He deserved better from her.
To me, this scene proves Nuka & Vitani weren't Scar's. Vitani's tone seems too disrespectful when speaking of him, and Nuka's only argument for why he should be king is that he's the oldest of Zira's kids. Were he Scar's son, THAT would be the first reason he'd give for why he's more worthy than Kovu.

Ya know something? That just reminded me of something. Scar was replaced by Simba to be the new king in the first movie, and Nuka is being replaced by Kovu to be king in the second film. So in a way, Nuka was in Scar's place and so HE should've been trained to be king instead of Kovu! Get it?

@ukikocarrot23 Originally, Kiara was supposed to have a brother. His name was Kopa. But when the movie was rewritten, they got rid of him entirely. Sometimes, though, people use him in fanfictions and such.
