A very simple and basic way of playing the main guitar riff, any mediorcre player can do this. You want to be strumming all the strings with your right hand and blocking with your left hand.

Dude, Your lesson is really helpfull but the specific strum pattern is a load of Balls, you dont need them just strum however is comfortable for you :)

One question, is guitar physically easier than bass, cuz I have raynaud's. A lot of effort with my right hand triggers malfunction of my bloodcirculation in ma right hand :s, making it impossible atm to play some really intense bass lines :(. So I was kinda considering switching to guitar.

with the fret muting, the picking pattern makes more sense. I'm having a hard time executing it, but it makes sense. It's really just constant up and down strumming the hard part for me is muting 5 strings at a time.

If you go to Justin's website...in text before the lesson, he explains that he teaches it without the muting first. He says it's too hard to learn the muting and the song at the same time. That's why he stresses the importance of the picking direction.
