If you actually watch Smallville from start to finish you'll see that Clark is basically nothing but an idiot who has powers. He was what you describe in season 1 and 2, then everything changed.

I just watched the thanksgiving dinner in ambush! i like both scenes but in ambush OMG, he is soooo happy there, and that´s makes me happy.

Awww; Clark doesn't have a romantic relationship here, but he is surrounded by love! He seems really happy for Lois and Chloe in this scene :)

I can't believe no one else had anything they were grateful for lol They all just start clapping... really, why? hahaha

It's great to compare this scene with the one in S10 Ambush. Now we get to see that CLARK finally gets to be happy - awwwww :-D I wish they celebrated more Holidays or birthdays on this show. Maybe we'll find out Lois' bday, hmm.

Two observations

1) Clearly Lex never saw Tim Burton's Batman. Never use a long table for dinner for two.

2) Lionel killed Johnathan but slides into the good guys. Some protector.

Beautiful scene indeed! The writers did very well on this one. The one of Jonathan Kent's funeral is also one of those scenes...I almost never crie, but..eh, this time I did.

I like these two scenes together, it really shows the contrast between the two sides of the lifestyles.

The Kent household, there's warm lighting, lots of colours and natural light and everyone is physically close together at the dinner table, everyone is talking.

Meanwhile on the other side of the spectrum we have dinner at the Luthor household, little to no talking, dark room, metallic colours, dim/white lighting and Lex and Lana are like a room's width apart from each other.

its like lex was testing lana about the baby.. perfectly timed (she found out this episode she was pregnant i think) it was like a thanksgiving present which he thinks she might be thankful for and she isnt, and thats how he finds out she doesnt really love him.

it would've been a good ending if somehow possibly Lex and Lana were invited to the Kent's.

it's Thanksgiving, and instead of the bitter feud between Clark and Lex, it would've been a good 3 minute to see everybody at the dinner table for the 1st and last time prior to what we're seeing this season.

Things were wrapped up perfectly with Clark and Lana at the end of season 5, and then they dragged it out for two more years! Season 8 now THANK GOD, they got rid of MILES AND MILLER and now the show is finally moving along. sigh.

I love that Lionel was invited, it's sad that Clark and Lex had a fallout, otherwise Lex's coolness would have been brought to the table. Lex was probably spending Thanksgiving intimidating employees and rival CEO's though, so he had fun.
