Apart from the fact that the author is obviously set out to bash Silverlight, this video is just outdated and irrelevant today. You don't even specify which version of SL you are referring to, but it's probably V1, which was more like a developer tech preview. Nowdays SL has tons of controls, can connect to SQL Server databases, web-services, stream HD video, send stuff to the printer and lots more.

Silverlight is free, and you can download the latest Microsoft Expression (for free) and begin developing for Silverlight (for free). Without having to spend hundreds of dollars for silly crap Adobe software (which is archaic, slow and just crashes your browser anyway).  Flash was cool about 8 years ago, but it's about as lame as you are! Wake up, and take some time to learn Silver light, you might actually be surprised at how powerful/fast/useful it is. Get over your silly Adobe fanboy bias.

There is an option of silverlight in Linux, it's called Moonlight, but it's not yet half done, and Microsoft doesn't help them to make it better, Moonlight again is made by community. Btw, in Silverlight image loaded faster because u already loaded it with Flash.

Thanks for that, I actually meant If you can have them both working at the same time because some websites use both programs, and how does the web site decide which one to use? But right after i posted that i decided to investigate this, i couldn't find anything so what I did was, using Firefox/Tools/Options/Main/Man­age add-ons/Plugins and disabled the Silverlight plugins, because it was always working as the default or i don't know if it was interfering with Flash in some weird way, it was slow

From an art perspective I can understand you not appreciating silver light. However, its obvious you're not a software developer- which is where silverlight shines. The lack of linux support is a non-issue. A lot of the limitations you mentioned can be worked around or are lifted in a later version of silverlight.

Silverlight 3.0 is going to support h.264, 3D support and GPU hardware acceleration. I think version 2 is really good. I have been using it for a while now and I am impressed. We ditched Flash for Silverlight. Development is much easier using LINQ, Entity Frameworks, C#, etc... For being version 2 I think Microsoft has done a great job.
