When the Lye and Fats mix the lye is neutralized and no longer harmful, your skin is about a 5.5Ph and lye is about 13 or 14ph...when it is neutralized it is about 6-8.
After unmolding my soap is cracking while cutting, so I cant cut neatly, also inbetween the cracks is looking grainy. What does this mean, should this soap be thrown away? help
Won't pouring hot soap into plastic lining create a chemical reaction where chemicals from the plastic will get into your soap? (If you microwave in plastic, chemicals from the plastic get into your food.) Isn't there a safe alternate where you can still get the soap out? (If you use glass, it'll stick. If you don't line with plastic, it'll stick.)
I use plastics from various products, such as pies, muffins etc as moulds. It often makes interesting shapes. I make also bath melts in it. I don't use vaseline at all, it gets easily out.
just like grease on a cookie sheet so the cookies won't stick. But because shortining is a fat, it will turn into soap when the lye touches it. So she uses vaseline.
This is the FOURTH video in this series.

What makes the lye in soap not dangerous to rub on your skin?

I hope the people at the store were nice. I mean it's their job to cut stuff for people and they get paid.

Mold is spelled mold (mould is what you find on old cheese).

Both spellings are correct for both definitions. Mold is the US version!

So the soap will come out of the mold.
