  • saints row 2 sent me looking for this song

  • If it wasn't for Howard Stern I never would have even known this band ever existed. I don't understand why they weren't more successful because they sure knew how to make great music.

  • @jtno2 I dont remember any reference to this song on Howard! I always wondered the same thing..this song is awesome, Id love to hear it live.

  • @LoveSublime40 I'd have to assume you didnt listen to the show often. He had a huge hardon for these guys. They came into the studio all full of themselves like difficult rock stars. Howard had had his ass kissed by people with much less talent, and who's music howard wasnt all that into. Howard loved these guys and they were kinda jerky to him.

  • ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • I fucking LOVE this song

  • How can anyone not like this song?? This song is always stuck in my head!

  • Hum Tribute Record coming out soon from Pop Up Records. featuring Funeral for a Friend, Constants,Open Hand,Anakin,Damn This Desert Air

  • the last great shoegazer song

  • This is what all us fans of music were listening to while Betty Pomsquad was making her friends buy Pearl Jam tickets.

  • This song was great. Speaking of one hit wonders, anyone remember the band Orbit? They had a great hit you may not remember with "Medicine". Check it out.

  • @ggp102 Glad you mentioned that song, I had completely forgotten it.

  • LOL! What a bad ripoff of Nirvana

  • One of the best songs from the 90's. Too bad it isn't properly appreciated.

  • Greatest 1 hit wonder...EVER!!!!

  • Good bands. Hardly obscure though.

  • true lol

  • i love this song

  • Unbelievably awesome song...I like the pod more, but not by much. 2 of my all-time favorites, such a shame they didn't stay together full-time....but at least they left us these songs....Thank you conservatory for posting this....f'n amazing

  • the outro riff makes that song.....shoud have used it more .....

  • These guys were like a harder version of Nirvanna with musical talent

  • damn....i only wish they had their chance at making it real big

  • i hate rock but no lie this song iz crazy nice

  • I am glad you commented, you bring up a valid point about this band. Whether you were a shoe gazer or a metalhead, Hum had something to offer you, much like everyone else here, I wish they could have had the success they deserved.

  • @cultofkrug

True! I'm a Shoegazer and I LOVE Hum! Most of my friends are Metal Heads and they LOVE Hum!!

Also true that they were under appreciated. I've heard they got back together for a coupla live gigs, and was wondering if you knew if they had a new record on the horizon.

  • this song kicks major amounts of ass.

  • yep, thats a hm2 sounding dirt sound

  • This is the best song ever, I'm requesting my band to play this!

  • no joke such a great band

  • crank it up!!! love this grunge music

  • huh, ive never heard of space rock before, can you give me some other bands that sound like this? ha and i thought the bleeding through version of this song was pretty good *hit self in head*

  • Look up "Space Rock" on Wikipedia. Then look at the 1990's revival section. :D

  • Siamese Dream by Smashing Pumpkins, Carnavas by Silversun Pickups, and there's a band on MySpace called 'Teddy & Keem' that's sorta space-rocky.

  • lol all bands/songs that i love

  • blat blat da da da blat

  • i love this song...idk...it rocks

  • this grunge masterpiece is addictive

  • I used to love this song when I was a kid and something just made me think about it. Looking back it kind of sounds like Helmet meets Gish-era Smashing Pumpkins. Its still bad ass though.

  • Still listen to this album weekly, great fucking song!!!!!

  • This was a good tune back in the day. I totally forgot about this and I just stumbled upon it.

  • makes me want to buy a cadillac!!!

  • cool grungy grunge, cool drums ,i miss this type of real fkn music

  • nice song..i really love it!!!

  • This is a grunge band???

  • No, actually "space rock" is a more accurate descriptor. Especially if you have ever listened to their records. People throw around the term "grunge" and apply it to any band from the 90's. LOL

  • this song is awesome 2 listen 2 as ur falling asleep it rox

  • dang man this is grunge dude.

  • One of the great under the radar tunes of the 90's!

  • These guys got their big break on Howard Stern.

  • Too bad it didn't help. Didn't help Anne Preven and Ednaswap either when she did her awesome acoustic version of Torn. Can't blame Howard though, people these days just like crappy music fed to them by top 40 stations.

  • someone told me this songs about suicide - is that true?

  • It upsets me that GM has to use the "Grunge" sound to sell their cars!

  • he he

  • I have always liked this song - I am glad they are using it on the Cadillac CTS commecials!

  • Now this is Classic Grunge!

  • Alaways has been--where were u?

  • This song brings back so many memories. Wow, I feel old all of the sudden.

  • this band reminds me of 311. Either way they both are amazing

  • I agree with you this is a cool song......

  • This is a cool song ...

  • Weirdddd

  • It reminds me of Cherub Rock by Smashing Pumpkins

heard it on that Cadillac commercial too

  • yeah, the riff definitely sounds like the pumpkins. sounds a bit more like "hummer" to me.

first heard this in 7th grade in '93, and i was absolutely blown away.

  • WoW, I Have Been Hunting This Song For Years.

    Hells Yeah.. .

  • woh thats grunge man

  • just perfect

  • I remember this being a pretty cool song. I recently recognized the rocking riff in a Cadillac commercial.

  • One of the great songs from the 90's

  • why does this remind me of smashing pumpkins???

  • I think you are hearing that string bend effect from the 3rd measure of 1979. There is no coincidence in the similar band sounds as Hum formed in Champaign IL and Pumpkins in Chicago IL in the 1988-1989 time frame. I'm sure these bands crossed paths more than a few times.

  • I luv the guitar in this song.

  • oh yeah the hum. i rember when this was on bevis and butthead. good stuff

  • i never herd this sng and when i herd it on the cadillac commercial i had to listen to it lol. great song

  • Nirvana!

  • Lead singer... Andy Dick? Anyone else seeing that as well? Great song from a piss poor album!!!

  • your an idiot!!! one of the greatest albums of the 90's. go listen Creed.

  • Creed? I'm not sure that should be dignified with a response. Well now that you've shown you've no taste in music at all... is there anything else I can help you with?

  • You can help him seek psychological expertise, anyone who listens to Creed is obviously insane.

  • Agreed... I've not heard a more pretentious "musician" as Scott Stapp. I think if not for him their might be tollerable. Then again... maybe not!!!

  • It's funny how one song can eclipse a great band.

  • poor song

  • the guitar riffs are awesome...but this song really needed some good lyrics

  • yup me too...cadillac commercial.....i couldnt believe my ears...felt 17 again....long live grunge!!!!!

  • One of the best from the 90's!

  • Sofa king Cool! Awesome song!

  • One of the best concerts I have ever seen...!!!

  • Yeah, Awesome Fucking Song. I Hadn't Heard It In Ages An It Just Popped In My Head Out Of No Where, I Had To Listen To It.

  • great Hum song...along with The Pod and Big Dipper

  • i just saw the comercial....

  • i love how this song just popped up on a stupid cadillac comercial after not being heard from in so long

  • hahaha i just saw that commerical today too. i hadnt heard this song for so long so i looked it up

  • hahaha me too

  • this song always kicks my face hard/come back Hum

  • cool song!!!

  • reminds me of the 95 alternative rock

  • thats actually when it came out

  • A mid-90's song...I was working 3 jobs.....u hear it on the tv, you gotta look it up.....it locks in a time in ur life.....because it never became "classic rock" and got played to death.....therefore ruining it's impact.....

  • Such great instrumentals on this tune! You can download this MP3 off h-u-m dot com. Try "boy with stick" which has a great sound

  • All I have to say is that this song just Rocks like no other!!! I love it as much today as I did when it came out!!!

  • LOLz cadilac is trying to appeal to our generation... the 90's beavis and buthead generation..*sigh*

  • She thinks she missed the train to Mars- She's out back selling cars!

  • Lol! Good one.

  • WOW i havent heard this song in ages!! then I hear it on TV. Hell yeah

  • Awesome band, awesome song, this is one I still listen to to this day. In fact if this song came out today..it would probably be more popular than it was in '96. Hope these guys are driving '08 Caddy's.

  • One of the forgotten greats from the mid-90's.......now on a Cadillac comercial....how strange.

  • jeff dempsey was in a band called National Skyline for a little while. they released two records on File Thirteen Records.

  • what happen to this guys

  • I had forgottne about this song to but the NEW CADILAC COMMERCIAL WITH KATE WALSH remind me of it is a great song

  • The best live performance of this song I've ever heard or seen by them was on Stern's show.

  • He can't sing....

  • thats why he made hit records...hmmm what do you do?

  • fuck...i love this song i totally forgot about it. definetly one of my favorites

  • shoegaze attempts to live on..

  • man i loved the 90's

  • This song is one of the ALL-Time BEST songs to have been recorded since the creation of the harmonica.

  • cool song. 90s right?

  • 1996

  • 1995

  • "This song reminds me of better times that I'll never have back. "

    well said.

  • I appears they've sold this song to cadillac

  • i fucking see.....

    i fucking see........

  • yea I fuckin knew it was them. I was like dude I heard this song when I was 10.

  • good for them. Who wouldn't want to make some gains off of their hard work, except for pretentious indie-rock elitists?

  • Whatever happened to these guys?

  • This song reminds me of better times that I'll never have back.

  • this song makes me cry sometimes...

    it's just so powerful

  • im going to have to hop on the i didnt know who they where and heard this song on the radio band wagon. i luv it heard 2 years ago when i was in bama. stuck in my head.

  • The best clip of Hum I ever seen was on youtube of Hum on Howard Stern. It was pretty freaking, Ali G rocks, sick.

  • I've been looking for this freaking song for ever i didn't know who it was from because i just heard on the radio but i liked

  • muchos recuerdos con esta cancion... demasiado tiempo ha pasado

  • Hum is one of those freaking awesome
