  • Good man, its now in my favorited videos.

I like like you play with feeling.

and that melody at 1:15 is nice and emotional. i was on this movie in cinema when i was 12.. i think its best film ever , with very good music.

  • do you know if that part is in the soundtrack or if that part is an extract of it

  • hey, can you help me, I would like to play this as well, but I don't have the sheet music. thank you

  • BRAVO! You played so beautifully~!!! Hans Zimmer is one of my favorite composers :)

  • i want it in violin. wait doesn't piano play the violin part to.

  • @Amanofwords1 I believe so. The violin isn't a transposed instrument. So you can use the soprane notes for the violin I'll guess:-) See infobar for the sheets.

  • @Amanofwords1 you tecnically don't need to trandspose anything. as long as you aren't playing it with others, you can play it in anything and it would work

  • Heel netjes gedaan!!!! Super

  • can you send me the notes on icq please593756727

    its so nice:) 10/5 ***********

  • NICE

which song is this? they all have that similar melody so I can never tell except for A Way of Life and A Small Measure of Peace

and even with those two I can get confused

  • It is diffcult to say which song it is because this is just an arrangement where the main theme is used. It is not close to any original piece. And YES a small measure of peace is a great piece!!

My favorite soundtrack of it!!! I finished that arrangement! Now i only need to tune my piano (which is really out of tune now) and then i will upload a video of a small measure of peace! I can't wait for that:P

  • I will look forward to it, and seeing in how it's your favorite I'll bet you'll be really good at it!

  • magnifique. Bravo !

  • this must be so difficult to play because of the emotion being such a distraction to the pianist especially during the arpeggio in the left hand, and passionate right hand as theme....

    somehow you get thru it....

    douglas

  • Well to be honoust this isn't really a difficult piece. But it is really fun to play. The left hand is repetitive. Although it must play different chords. I just tried to feel how it should played. I listen a 1000 times to the soundtrack without getting bored:P

  • i remember learning one of these samarai tracks by ear..., an incredible chord progression so simple... it wasn't piano, rather strings, but the chords could be heard...

i hope to send you my effort for your library of incredibly obscure but brilliant music...

it's wonderful leaving a comment as you play, because now the romantic in the contest of war theme, is powering thru you..

    douglas

  • Hey Thanks agian Douglas for commenting on another video:-) Send me some interesting music from you;)

    Cheers

    Noud

  • Which of the Last Samurai OST track is this one? Beautiful btw!

  • lovely *-* btw I really enjoyed the film, as I am quiete interested in Japanese culture! Thank you very much for sending us music-lovers the link to the sheets you practised with:)

  • Yeah i really enjoyed the movie too!! And i am also very interested in Japanese Culture:-) You should listen to Joe Hisaishi music;) Who is a Japanese composer.

  • btw, gr8 music from a gr8 movie :)

  • what was right in they eyes of the emperor, wasn't always right in the eyes of ordinary man...

  • very nice , i want to play like you =D

  • the movie was great, but of course Ninjas were put in a bad light by Hollywood again -_-

just so all of you know: Ninjas took the jobs the Samurais couldn't because of their special code of honour, but this didn't always mean that Ninjas were thieve of assassins!

Ninjas had their own code were loyalty to their own was important

  • Samurai were assassins of noble blood, Ninjas were assassins of peasant blood. :)

  • yes, the samurais served the emperor and the noblemen...but as we all know, noblemen and kings were not the people of all of Japan, they were perhaps 10 % (?) maybe less...the samurais themselves weren't always noble..they worked for noble people..

anyway, bottomline is: ninjas had greater freedom in choosing which jobs to take, while a samurai had to obey his master in the cause the MASTER thought was right..

  • I am a boy with the age of 17, when i saw the last samurai, it was the first movie ever to touch me enough to get a little tear out of my eye with the amount of honor and passion in that movie. i have now played the piano for 8 years and when i herd your piece of this music i felt the same way as when i watched the movie, so i just had to leave a comment at tell you thats just awesome my friend, deeply thanks for making this video and showing me a place where i can get sheet music - thank you.

  • Hi there!! Thanks for this kind comment:-) I appreciate it. The Last Samurai was also very emotional for me. The story, honor, passion, nature (landscape) etc. And of course the music;) It is just incredible! One of my alltime favorite movie! See the infobar for the sheets mate;)

  • MY FRIEND!!!!!!!

pls can you film your fingers while playing this? like a tutorial? PLEASE my friend, that would be GREAT!!!!!

i love your way to play!!!

  • THanks so much for sharing the sheet music! Music like this should be spread out more then itll never be forgotten!

  • +.+ its difficult at 1:32

  • You will get there. That part isn't soo difficult. Just practise only the left hand. When you play another broken chord the motion is exact the same!! Just see for yourself. It is really easy actually.Just practise the left hand only! And think about the fingerposition very carefully and try which one suite for your the best. Let me know how that works! Okay? ;)

  • ye i will !! And maybe i upload a video ;))**sry, my english is bad >.>
