However, officially the game wasn't derived from the show at all.

"You might be missing some of the benefits that stereo can provide." was from an old advertisement for radio with stereo output way back in the days of yore when most radios were monoaural. During the advert, sounds would be played out of the second output channel, (right speaker, for instance), but not all radios had two speakers and thus they were not able to hear it. If you bought that new fancy radio with two speakers that was being advertised, then you could hear it.

i used to own the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive version of Top Gear 2. SNES version enables the player to use the car's horn & decelerate. The Sega version doesn't have those features and the music in title screen and game are different. Probably one of the longest game i've played.

It came out on SNES first, 1993, versus Genesis' 1994. It lacked sound, and only had one track theme, and a title theme. Maybe you should learn to get your facts straight. The sound destroyed the Top Gear 2 reputation when it was ported to the shitty genesis.

Corrected: I took a listen and it has a title theme, and 3 track themes, no championship theme or anything. The genesis lacked a proper sound card and it emulated sound terrible. The only thing it had was Graphics, which is why it was called the GFX 32....Anything else sucked.
