He's precious, but that is actually very bad for a dog's teeth, as you can imagine. There are similar exercise tools you can easily build, such as springpole and flirtpoles. Springpoles are where they can jump up and grab hold, but it has a spring and suspension so it does not damage the teeth or mouth, and is just as fun to watch them dangle.. ;) Such a cute staffy, though- I love that breed!

I used to know a Staffordshire Terrier named Badger that did exactly the same thing. If he saw a branch in a tree and you told him to jump, he would yelp loud enough to be heard across the neighborhood, and would jump until he grabbed it with its teeth, and then wouldn't let go. His coat was a similar color to yours.

people saying why cant the dog have the stick staffies like doing things like that my stafffie has so many sticks and all she wants me to do is grab hold of it spin her round. you people dont no anything.
a dog any dog is only aggressive if its been trained to be. no dog is born aggressive.
staffies are the most loving peaceful funny caring dogs in the right enviroment.

As fierce as fire, as sweet as sugar. Always friendly to my friends, raises paw (i never taught him that), even seems to make friends with the turtle in my backyard,, always fierce around enemies. It's like all he wants to do is be loyal to you. doesn't like my sister either, she is the insidious type, and it amazes me that even the dog could recognize this, lol

So many people make negative comments about the Staffie breed, a totally uneducated assumption that any dog that is muscular is therefore dangerous. I have play fights wrestling with my staffie, playing tugg games and chucking him around... he just comes back for more loving every second and has never and will never harm a living sole. Staffie's have so much personality, are gentle and the best family dog you could have!!!

I used to know a Staffordshire Terrier named Badger that did exactly the same thing. If he saw a branch in a tree and you told him to jump, he would yelp loud enough to be heard across the neighborhood, and would jump until he grabbed it with its teeth, and then wouldn't let go. His coat was a similar color to yours.

Well Sidney is now coming up to his ninth birthday in July so when this was filmed he was 7 and a half.
