  • Hey, again awesome video!!! There seems to be a consensus at the SRK news about your vid that simultaneous normal throws result in a tech. Maybe you should clear that up, cause I bet my word would mean shh to them lol.

  • @FREEdomxxxZGMFX10A they do result in a tech

  • Why does throw beat simultaneous normals? =[

Isn't the whole point supposed to be Throw > Block > Attack > Throw?

  • @rizhall Only in Virtua Fighter you can't grab anyone doing an attack. I don't think it applies to SF.

  • the winner is based on wich thread of the process enters to the cpu first, it maybe seems like they both happen at the same time but that is not the case on cpu time this is not true both process send a new state to the cpu wich is throw, at the same time, but since the cpu technically can only manage one process at the time the 1st to enter take the cpu resources leaving the other process on a wait state, lets say that p2 enters to the cpu 1st, assuming that the player 1 isnt

  • mashing throws since he believes that he make a succesful throw, the p1 is not giving any new state, the throw break doesnt occur because of this, the p1 is waiting trying to enter to the cpu with the throw state wich started before the window of throw break that the p2 is in before making the throw.

the same logic aplies to throws vs normals with the same startup time

  • @Hecatom how did you check this?

  • @error00001

common knowledge when you dedicate your live to write prorgrams and stuff like that

  • @Hecatom but the person who presses the button first isn't always the person who wins. You can press the button later in the frame and still win.

  • Good shit like always Error, just one thing that irks me; it's inputted not imputted : )

  • @PimpWilly sometimes I like to make errors, think of it as a watermark

  • @error00001 touché : )

  • @PimpWilly actually it's input. Not inputted xD

  • isnt that kof music in a sf vid?

  • @BAD187 no, it's by CalciusRepton

  • @error00001 Can you recommend any similar bands? This shit is off the hook!

  • @burnerman007 the bass player desk ( who you probably know as biffotasty ), is doing his ProjectDolphin music right now. I'm not the best person to ask about music, I mostly listen to video game music

  • what if SPD is inputted as short+jab versus normal throw?

  • so this is definitive ...??yes?? great contribution btw!

  • Love Calciusrepton, Desk's band! Cheers for the vid, insightful stuff!

  • Street Fighter 4 is full of random bullsh*t

  • what do you mean with random winner? random doesn't exist in videogames

  • @abcdefghilihgfedcba I mean the RNG decides who wins, If I where you I wouldn't try to upset her by saying she isn't truly random

  • @abcdefghilihgfedcba

    True random -usually- doesn't exist.

However ... over a decade ago a buddy and I made a program that replaces the RNG with values drawn from after-decimal-point values off of a parallel port geiger counter.

Yes, we were that serious about our PC monopoly game.

  • *inputted :P

  • Thanks for clearing that up, bro. lol. I always wondered but didn't have the ability to time these things correctly.

  • I hate SFIV throws.

They should be pressure against guarding opponents, not an offense shut down.

3-frame startup and beating attacking opponents just seems...

    Ew...

  • what about two ultra raging demons from full screen across? is that random as well?

  • @SilverSkyline92 yes, it's random, but the super has a frame of invincibility and the utra has a bunch of frames so if done close the second player to input it will usually win

  • @SilverSkyline92 ive tried this out in vanilla and this also seems to be random

  • badass song

  • more like this please!

  • the normal throws in the air? the game doesn't have air tech...

the other guile one was normal throw vs normal move, and throws win

  • but why doesn't the normal throws get teched?

  • @foodysi Because it's not normal throw versus normal throw. Watch it again and you'll see special throws involved.

It would be nice if they made special tech animations for those instead of having it be random.

  • @theli7 I think foodysi is referring to the second half of the video, with two guile's normal throwing each other. I think it's because in order to tech a normal throw, you have to input the tech a few frames after the throw (there's a decent window where you can tech the throw), but this is showing when the throw input is done at the exact same time.

  • @alekschang Yeah, what dstln said. That's a throw versus a jab. Showing that the throw will always win if they go active at the same time.

  • Another reason to not like SFIV. Sweet bass btw.

  • @Yosefhouser Basically all fighting games decide simultaneous throws at random, it's not unique to SFIV

  • @error00001 I thought most default to throw breaks instead...pfft.

  • @error00001

Actually in Guilty Gear XX AC, if both players throw at the same time, a tech throw happens...

  • @ElvenShadowMike This isn't true.

There is a youtube video by FS who showed what happens when 2 people throw at the exact same frame (and most players know this by now as well). In GGXX AC, when both players throw, no throw is read and both 6HS animations for each player comes out.

  • @PozerWolf oh right. I remember that video now. my bad

  • @PozerWolf oh really. never knew that.

  • @PozerWolf cool, I didn't know that

  • @error00001 Wrong. 3rd Strike.

  • @Shotm

Really, how does 3s decide it? I've mapped 1P and 2P to the same controller and done 360s with Hugo and it seems random.

  • @onreload My bad. I was referring to the normal throws, not super art throws.

  • @Shotm 3rd strike works the same

  • @error00001 eh not true. If two players throw in GG on the same frame a throw break happens. Same with BB.

  • @6o9tenstars Yea, except that he completely showed both throws happening from input to frame 3. A throw tech only happens after somebody gets thrown, and pressed the throw command 6 frames after they've been caught.

    Learn your shit.

  • @Quickiezzz Who cares nerd, especially when you're a netplay hero.

  • @6o9tenstars Man, you're such a badass. Calling me a nerd is mad hardcore.

  • @error00001 Not all of them. I've played at least one game where throws could be teched if and only if the throw command was entered by both players on the same frame.

  • Awesome work man... thanks, really appreciated.
