  • =D mto loko perfeito KKK ri muito com o bata cabeça 4:00

  • AMAZING!!!!! -3

  • would any of the marimba players mind sending the music to me?? doesnt matter high or low but preferable lower marimba.

    this is great btw =]

  • i am always looking forward to performin' this song with a group of choir and combining it with band. you did a great job in arranging it!

  • Good Video !

  • LOVE IT! The guy playing marimba got really into the song, and I had a Wayne's World flashbook. That's a real ensamble!

  • more great work from you guys :) i enjoyed how you told everyone to not flame the vid because "youre not Freddie Mercury" but you still did an amazing job with your vocals! XD

  • That's so cool! You guys did a great job!!! Sure you aren't Freddie but you did a pretty good job! Well done!

  • omg 5 octave marimba

  • You all did Great!!! You did the song and the late singer of Queen Justice as well.

  • Those singers sounded off to me. This was great! But it could've been better

  • This is freaking GREAT!

  • i like how the guitarist r in back

  • @xXBroolynXx I agree. Timpani would've added a lot. All my best players who are good at tuning changes were on mallet parts though, and I just didn't want to deal with it so I let the bass player handle it. But that's a good idea. If I ever clean the score up to give or sell to people on here, I might add that.

  • hihi! check out the guy at 3:57.. i think he liked it.. lol

  • it was pretty sweet, but the singer that felt the need to conduct and cue the ensemble...i bet hes one cocky SOB

  • @lxSPOONERxl I was that singer, but I was actually the percussion director at the time as well. I arranged the piece and taught it to them, and had to direct the tempo changes. I can see how you might think that if you thought I was just a part of the ensemble though.

  • i love the music. you guys are really talented... but i cant help but lol at the only guy wearing a tie : P

  • totally awesome, i really liked it,

  • como mola!!

  • Amazing singers, amazing drummer, amazing guitar player, amazing percussion players AMAZING EVERYTHING!! :)

  • @konguawesome lol look in the description i wasn't being serious. These guys are beast.

  • @TheRealSefron Haha, yeah I checked him already. I just know how trollers and idiots type these days when I typed that, so I exaggerated it just a bit and knew somebody would use it for fun. My favorite part is of course the exclamations turning into 1s back and forth. You can even spot a covert dummy when that happens.

Oh, and thanks for the compliment! Glad you liked it.

  • 15 People are tone deaf.

  • that singer SUX!!! What a n00b! I bET fredde Mercury is roling in his grave! Epic Phail!!!!1!!1!!1

  • @TheRealSefron I bet your English teacher is rolling in hers.

  • @KonguAwesome Haha, he was actually being ironic and quoting my imitation of a Youtube flamer/troll, if you check my video description. But I apparently did a good imitation of grammar-challenged trolls, since you thought he was real. :)

  • @SeanUNT Very convincing mate! :D

  • Pretty damn awesome.

  • .... Okay. That's it. I'm officially dead from over exposure to awesomeness. -.- it's a good way to die.

  • nerdy, but still good !

  • queen, thanks for making the best song ever

  • The guitarist is excellent give him my appreciation!!!

  • i love this video i dont care about the singers i just love the percussions

  • @gamegirl436 As a percussionist and singer, I am pleased either way, so thanks!

  • Amazing cover. I know how hard the song is to sing and yet this perfectly. I bow down before your amazing skill!

  • @Rider0fLightning Well, as some other people just love to point out, it isn't exactly perfect, but I think we came pretty damn close! I'm so proud of how they played and how it turned out. Thanks for the awesome compliment!

  • @SeanUNT It is the best cover I've ever heard! Have you done your own song?

  • @Rider0fLightning Do you mean have I composed original music? If so, the answer is yes, but not much. I like arranging other people's awesome music a lot more.

  • @SeanUNT That's awesome! You and your friends are gonna make it big one of these days!

  • :D

  • muy bueno

  • due to school name I need to make a Rocky Horror Picture Show. Wheres Dr.Scott. And nice percussion line I wish my school had more than 4 people (including me) in it.

  • SPECTACULAR! No one is Freddie, no one could be, I think you did a wonderful job!

  • Found out about this through one of the performer's dad. Y'all did an awesome job! I can't even imagine how many hours of practice it took to perfect this.

  • very cool and fun

  • *dies* the guy at @4:00 - @4:12 !!! LMFAO

  • christ how mant fuckin octaves is that marimba!!!

  • Well done! Very impressive. Do you have the score? Can I buy it somehow? 'Cause I have my own perc ensemble (look for: beat 'n' breaks here on youtube). would be a cool thing to play!

  • good cover, though the lead singer could have done better. if he just sang clean through the headbang part, there was supposed to add some gruff to his voice at that part. other than that, great job. i lold at the guy with the blonde hair

  • @GearfriedGeneral25 Do you mean I should have sung cleaner through the headbang part, or I should have sung with more of a gruff voice? I can't understand your crazy grammar or lack of capitals. Also, all 5 of us were singing in that part, not just me.

  • @SeanUNT You guys did amazing, don't listen to him lol. Especially don't let it frustrate you, you know you did awesome

  • I really love that guy: 4:01 HAHA ! :D Good job guys ! It's amazing !

  • This is fucking amazing. And all these kids are just high schoolers? You must be an amazing instructor! Great arrangement!

  • @WCUDrummerGirl11 Thanks for the kind words! You have no idea with the above and beyond thing. I could have just bought ensembles from Drop6 and been done with it, but this, along with the other arrangements on my channel from this night, took me every free night I had for a couple of months leading up to the concert to transcribe and arrange. And then we had to learn it all! It was pretty crazy, but the kids appreciation for the good music to play made it worth it.

  • would of been better if you didnt have anyone singing.

  • @aperfectfailyour I originally conceived it as just a percussion ensemble with marimbas/vibes covering the vocal parts, and the keyboard covering the piano part that the marimbas are playing now. To be honest, it was incredibly boring. Mallet instruments just aren't nearly as expressive as the human voice, and it look the life out of it, so I had to add the vocals to make it work. The only instrumental version that has worked is DCI's Carolina Crown drum corp with horns, and even that is just OK

  • @SeanUNT Mallet instruments are very expressive when played by skilled players.

  • @bummer846 You didn't read my comment correctly. I agree that mallet instruments can be extremely expressive when played by skilled players. What I said was that mallet instruments aren't nearly as expressive as the human singing voice can be, which even as college trained percussionist who loves the marimba, I will stand by that opinion. Also, when you lose the words to a song, you lose half of the impact, so instrumental covers of vocal pieces are never as exciting as the original.

  • Im thinkin guitar solo shouldve been on timpani

  • @skiierboy01 Hahaha, good one.

  • I love it!!!!!

  • This kind of upsets me. I'm the drumline captain at my school and Bohemian Rhapsody was the song I wanted to for our indoor percussion season. The only problem, I would have to transpose it all and write the drill to the show... It really isn't a problem, I just don't have the time. But anyway. This made me jealous which is why it somewhat upsets me. But it's really good. :]

Where did you get the music?

  • @camerajunkie Thanks man. I actually transcribed it all by ear and then arranged it. Took forever, but it was worth it.

  • That must have taken a lot of practice and coordination, fantastic job everyone! :-)

  • nice percussion, stupid voices

  • @JESSlCO You must think the original is pretty stupid then, considering it's the same vocal parts. I know we're not quite as perfect vocally as the studio recording, but for a live performance of such dense harmonies, I think we did pretty good.

  • They look like they're having so much fun -_-

  • Love it, great job you guys!

  • oh my GOD i played this song last year and wrecked on the xylophone

  • I was very impressed~I think you all did a wonderful job~I have just decided to learn how to play this on the keyboard~it is such a beautiful song and you did it justice~today is Freddie's birthday~

  • Holy crap... the long haired guy behind the singers looks almost exactly like me and i also play mallets! :O

  • 4:02 - Made my week

  • this is quite possible the most kickest ass cover of this song ever in history...this was amazing. Freddie would of been so proud. How can 10 people dislike this? You know how long is must of took to put this entire song together with that many people?! Before you hit the "dislike" button, why don't you post a vid of you doing better? This blew me away. The lead singer was great too. This is fucking insane.

  • @low72 Haha, thanks for the awesome comment dude. It did take months and months, including all of my transcribing/arranging time. Just to think of Freddie hearing this makes me cringe, but I'm glad you think he would have liked it. I would hope so.

  • Dude. Nice work, and great percussion ensemble. One of the best arrangements of this masterpiece I've ever heard.

  • the guitar solo should have been on the xylo but otherwise fantastic job!

  • @tWAGmusic Really? I think xylo would have sounded goofy on the solo. I have never really liked the xylo sound in modern pieces though, it just doesn't blend. That's why I only reinforced the guitar part with some vibes here and there, a much more compatible rock sound I think. When I do arrangements of other people's music, I usually try to make my version not sound too "percussion-ensembly" and maintain the feel of the original, if that makes any sense.

  • BRAVOOOO from brasil!

  • once again this is very inspiring

  • Wow, we need to play this in ensemble next year!!!! really awesome

  • HAHA my Percussion section has an electric bass too (;

  • simply amazing. never seen a percussion ensemble so together. Great job@!

  • Some really great work- as a percussion ensemble director myself I can totally appreciate all the hard work that went into this.

  • the percussionists need to work on their wrist movement. it's all about the wrists, not the arms.

  • actually sounds a lot like the original

  • Great video! Thanks for posting it!

  • The jumping blonde kid is a CHAMPION!

  • I have to say that i have seen better....... as in the real thing, this for me, is probably right below the real deal. I love this. I am a huge fanatic of this kind of stuff. Its very good and a job well done to them all.

  • poor group singing great lead singer, nice work technically sound, love it

  • @einstine1958 Well as the lead singer, I'll say thanks so much! But in the group's defense, all of the other singers are actually really good, it's just Freddie's overdubbed harmonies are so dense and complex that it was too tough for us to get it in great tune live. He uses lots of 7th chords that have a voicing where two voices are just a whole-step or a half-step apart. I'm used to that being a jazz musician, but the other guys are choir guys and they had never sung like that before.

  • Why such a big band, Sean?

  • @malkrow21 I specifically arranged this piece to use every single kid in my percussion program at Denton HS at the time, because I wanted every kid to be able to experience the awesomeness of Bohemian. Plus, I wanted it to rock as hard as possible, and the more people the more sound!

  • Simply put, sex to the ears.

  • @badsalad313 Haha, thanks man!

  • so good! i do feel bad for the marimba players behind the singers lol

  • Way too many percussionists... so many wrong notes...

  • @julianlevans This was an arrangement for percussion ensemble. The vocals were added as a necessity to support the piece, because it just wouldn't work as an instrumental I decided. So of course there are a lot of percussionists....that's the point of a percussion ensemble. And I would say they missed less than 2% of the overall notes, which is really good for a HS group this big. Where are you hearing these wrong notes specifically?

  • @julianlevans Can't tell me where all those wrong notes are huh?

  • the playing was awsome.... singing not so much

  • @12stuart23 I'm glad you enjoyed the percussion, since I wanted that to be the main focus. I guess you didn't read my disclaimer though in the video description. We did our best. Why don't you try singing Freddie Mercury and post a video? It's pretty tough.

  • @SeanUNT id sing it fine infront of an audience... just not the world. And im pretty sure they thought they where singing it just for the audience

  • @12stuart23 I think you're confused. This is why you should read video descriptions before posting, but now with the new Youtube layout, video descriptions are even harder to notice sadly. I was the lead singer, and I also arranged and transcribed the ensemble. I, and everyone else in the video, also knew I was planning on uploading it to my Youtube account. I'd really like to see a video of you singing a Freddie Mercury song then if you'll post it.

  • This is hilarious and awesome! Love the vocals and love the percussion.

  • Loved it

    5*

  • AMAZING!!! - I like this!!! - Great!!!

  • My compliments!!! - Great!!!

  • that is so great! I love this song and this cover is amazing!!

  • i play other instrument as well but i choose marimba as my main one

  • this made me happy on soo many levels... i play the marimba and this is my all time favorite song i love you for this =D

  • very good (=

  • Thats the best cover ive ever heard for a queen song!

  • I wish my band could do this for percussion ensemble.

  • Terrific !! AWESOME !! AMAZING !!.. I love the Intro !! 10 STars !!

  • holy crap.. are you kidding me!!!!!!!!! i have never seen anything like this before!! that was AMAZING!!!!

  • Best cover ever!!!!!!!!!

  • thats probably like 200,000 worth or marimba's and mallet percussion

  • I agree, I wish I could do this in my choir though. But the joy of private school, we cant even preform Bye bye birdie without altercations.. Any-who, this is spectacular....cubed!

  • *5^^A=M=A=Z=İ=N=G^^5*

  • holy crud that was awesome. dude i wish my high school band would play that haha, or even something remotely that awesome =D oh and this is Queen so that adds like a whole new level to the awesomeness!

  • Awesome job. I think you did wonderful on this piece and your students were just terrific! No matter what people say I think you did wonderful. Bravo! I hope my daughter who is starting to play xylophone does a excellent job like your students have shown here!

  • dios!! que bueno!! increible jaja

  • The singer dont have the passion freddy sang it at all wheres pianist and guitarist and drummer

  • ThePetty4, I guess you didn't read my disclaimer, but I tried my best. At least I was always in tune and could hit all the notes properly, which is more than can be said for most Freddie covers. And it is Freddie, not Freddy. You would think you would know how to spell his name if you're passionate about him. The piano is a bit offstage, but the piano part was also expanded to all the mallet instruments. The guitar and drumset are obvious in the back row if you're not blind.

  • I tried my best to spell freddy im only 11. how is it obvious if you cant see them and the piano so what do you expect people to say about you

  • You can see the guitarist and bassist all the time in the back row, it's pretty obvious.... Look from 0:40 - 1:25 and you'll see the guitarist and bassist very easily, not to mention the other 15 times you can see them. You can see the drummer in the back row from 2:27 - 2:48 fairly easily if you just look. I see you're only 11, but you need to work on your powers of observation. What do I expect people to say about me? If they have any musical sense, I'd expect them to enjoy this performance.

  • rock out fail

  • Capitalization/punctuation fail.

  • just start at 4:00

    its the best bit.

  • "I was the one who could hit his high notes in a chest voice without going into falsetto".. epic.. BURN :)

  • Just to clarify michie, Freddie could of course hit all of the notes in a chest voice without using falsetto too. I was just the only one out of the singers on the video that could also do that.

  • VERY WELL DONE i know the song is a hard one to do but you all did a very good job on it i give you guys full props keep it up

  • freddie mercury is probably rolling over and coughing from this not so bad though

  • Not terrible i guess... thats not exactly what id call first rate percussion. technique is poor and the parts seem pretty boring.

  • @tibbetts14 Actually their percussion is fine, and it looks like a pretty well written book.

  • that singer SUX!!! What a n00b! I bET fredde Mercury is roling in his grave! Epic Phail!!!!1!!1!!1

But Seriously this is amazing. sounded better than our full orchestra cover *excluding vocals(we have no good singers)

  • AWESOME. Good performance guys! the song are very complicate but the singer is not fredy but it's very good!

  • THAT WAS AWESOME...the blonde hair kid..his hair looks pink from the light haha and he was awesome when he was head banging

  • yay

    i<3this!!

the only thing that bugs the crap out of me is the technique!

don't double your strokes, alternate your hands

and also don't play with your thumbs up!

    but really good job

    it's so awesome

and the blonde-haired afro kid makes me laugh when he head bangs at around 4:05

    =)

  • Nice!

But disapointing that the "piano solo" right after the rock part at the end wasn't played by one (or more) of the xylophone players. 4.41 - 4.44

  • If Jenna Jameson, Chuck Norris, and Rambo all had sex with me in my ears... it would be THIS

  • @badsalad313 nice try

  • Nice try? That's the only explanation that can possibly encompass the all-around amazingnicity that is this video.

  • wow that's about the saddest thing i have ever heard.

  • Oh, if you're not into sex OR awesome music, that's fine then. You may crawl back into your dank basement (at your mom's house, of course) and continue jerking that stub of a penis off to pictures of Optimus Prime while listening to J-pop.

  • Comment removed

  • the pit doesnt seem very passionate. is that just me? My high school pit does the whole bobbing thing and sways around. which makes it look cool. nice vocals though

  • beautiful performance!

  • very good vocal performance. your vocal transcription seemed to flow very well with the pit.

Props to the eg, tough solo to master.

pit, however, seemed very basic. Disregarding the skill level, members don't seem to be on the same page.

there is no emotion on anyone's faces. If that was a predetermined thing, never mind.

I really like the blond kid's energy!!

Carolina Crown's show is my top favorite DCI show ever..

  • this was really goood.

    i liked it.

    good job.

  • The blonde kid looks like Happy Gilmour's first caddy in the movie hahahaha... Still a good cover... very nice

  • the blonde kid's hair reminds me of cauliflower

  • hahaha! very nice! loved it

  • ya, other than the malets resting on the instruments, it was great!

  • Lift up your mallets!

  • I'm glad someone else thinks so.

    It sounded fairly nice though.

  • haha that blonde kid head banging completely made this for me

  • SO COOL :)

  • I always feel bad for the kid who has to play bells. You always get stuck with a boring part since it's such an overbearing sound :\

  • Haha, yeah, that's the way it goes. It was a challenge for me to find any parts that sounded good for bells, xylo, crotales, chimes, etc, since my arrangements are usually modern popular songs, and it just doesn't fit. Subscribe if you'd like to see my other percussion arrangements. Thanks!

  • I have already subscribed to your videos, thanks !!! And lots of next amazing videos as your Bohemian...

    Lucie :-)

  • Cool, didn't see that before I responded. Thanks for the sub!

  • Absolutely amazing work !!!! You did all so well !!!!!!

I´m also a musician and composer so I really love it.

  • Thanks Lucie, I'm glad you liked it! If you'd like to see more of my arrangements and covers, please subscribe. Thanks!

  • that was so cool lol. queen<3 i liked how the guy started jumping lol it seemed like the cameraman/woman knew he was going to do that

  • Oh putain c'est ENORME!

    OMG it's ENORMOUS!

  • holy shit, must be a rich school

  • Nope, actually a fairly underfunded, inner-city school. Both 5 octave marimbas are personal instruments, the school doesn't own one. One is mine, and the one on the left belongs to the girl playing it. I just figured out how to make our small budget go a long way. Hope you enjoyed the video, and would consider subscribing?

  • Gave me goosebumps.

  • That was amazing!!! Did you write the music for the percussian yourself? I'm trying to do th same thing at my school, except a different song and it would be a whole band instead of just percussian and guitars. Absolutle amazing!

  • Thanks! Yeah, I transcribed and arranged all of it, vocals, percussion, guitar, bass. It took many hours but was a lot of fun to do. Good luck with your arrangement. It's very addictive, as you can see by all of my other arrangement videos. Subscribe if you'd like to see more!

  • felicidadez! les quedo de maravilla! saludos desde mexico!

  • Hmm, if my high school Spanish stayed with me at all, I think you said:

"Congratulations! That was marvelous! Hello from Mexico!"

Did I get it right? Wasn't sure about the middle part. Well, seems like you liked it so thanks!

  • the way the blonde and the girl next to him in the front got in to it, HILARIOUS

  • Ummm....that's actually an albino boy.....hehe.

  • superbe !!! bravo

  • that was actually very good....and i was extremly entertained

  • Thanks DaleyDrummer, glad you enjoyed it! Subscribe if you'd like to see more arrangements of mine.

  • queen is still
