I've revived a damaged one of these, and it's really amazing to watch. So much fine tuning goes into it, where to put certain weights (which might be scraps of paper) and where to put the wings themselves. I got it to fly for a couple of minutes. Victory for someone who isn't really involved in this kind of thing!
40 to 50 hours to build just one???? What about the hundreds of hours of errors and mistakes that it takes to learn to build your first one? And then the labors of love that are lost while learning to be able to transport one of these works of art? The whole notion and then the execution of this sport are just mind blowing! I have been "watching" these marvels of building skills via publications for over 50 years, and I continue to be completely amazed!
