  • Turbo diesel engines never been that wonderfull as many say. I own a W124 with a 2.5 Turbo Diesel engine (285k km), maintenance always done on Mercedes, constantly have lots of oil leaks and had already one trouble with the engine. The Flywheel broke for 2 times and the differential is always leaking oil. Reliable diesel engines don't have turbo. I know someone with the 5000cc gasoline version with near 400k km and no issues at all but don't know if they are as good as diesel ones.

  • Une mecanique INCREUVABLE!!!

  • TAXI :)

  • a very good engine for a cadiilac.....

  • sounds like a mitsubishi I used to own. accept the mitsubishi wasnt designed to go clack clack clack

  • watch?v=rMNzQ3-kMf4

  • sounds bad :P or its the bad audio

  • @JJAstley

bad audio :P, i got just D300 without turbo, when it accelerates everyone loves the sound, for a diesel sound is awesome.... i dont know how other 300's run...

  • never heard the whizzer cone....why this video?

  • nice reving!!!!!!!!!!

  • nice sound! i like

  • Bearing in turbo is worn out. It'll only get worse!

  • My '85 300D never made a sound like that, the only sound my turbo makes is a long whistle when it's spooled up but the boost is dumped into the hole in the wastegate housing to increase fuel econ.

  • @300DBenz

The aircleaner is of and the oil is cold. They are noisy at idle. Even new. My 240d i just rebuilt is as noisy as when I started. On the road, can't hear a thing!

  • yoo go cut the crops!

  • some odd noises coming from that engine...dodgy.

  • almost every 5 cylinder in America has a turbo.

  • @1CCP2 ; After 1981, yes.

  • I've had one of these for a year. Best car I've ever owned (and I've owned a LOT!)

  • This is very good and very strong engine.

    I have only a 200 d.

  • look tommysbrowncaddy youre a fucking disturbance stop commenting cadillac sucks my big BaLLs

  • @EuroJungen22 What a great looking Cadillac! What year is it, and what engine is it?? The famous 5.7 litre diesel??

  • @tommysbrowncaddy GTFO here.. cadillac is fukin gay.. they dnt last for shit! comparing cadillac to a Benz its like comparing a ghetto shack to a hollywood mansion! idiot! lol

  • @ikeepzitclean Mercedess are made by hitler and his gastapo

  • @tommysbrowncaddy you should better learn how to spell "GeStaPo" before writing anything about Hitler, WW2 or other shit like that.

  • @BuffALotSoldier either way, im still right

  • @tommysbrowncaddy the first mercedes was built, way before hitler could even say "mama" and was still liquid.

so stop talking nonsense and get your infos right.

  • @BuffALotSoldier dnt waste ur time w/ that idiot.. he just loves to annoy the shit out of ppl w/ his stupid comments.. and u are correct about the Benz! one of the founders (Karl Friedrich Benz) was like 45 yrs older than Hitler and he died a few yrs after Hitler became the leader of NSDAP in 1921.. but Hitler did have a favorite Mercedes Benz.. in fact that was his main vehicle back then for transport.. the W131....a 1934 Mercedes Benz G4.. pretty nice cars for the era it was in..

  • @ikeepzitclean hehe

  • @BuffALotSoldier The first one was built in the year 1977 or something... Hitlers era!!!! Now the caddy was built in the year 4!!! Yes 4 years after jesus died!

  • @tommysbrowncaddy according to u Hitler's era was around 1977.. Hitler died like 32 yrs. before that.. shows how stupid u are. and i think ur obviously a w123 fanatic thats in denial..obviously u comment on every w123 mercedes video w/ ur pathetic shit. wtf? lol

  • @ikeepzitclean LOL. Umm, ok. yea my caddy is brown and hitler didnt invent it. Now what?

  • @BuffALotSoldier hitler didnt say mama he said muther

  • @janssen70 what is easier to say? mama or mutter. i am german, so better dont give me a german lesson ;) (i know hitler was austrian, blabla. its the same language, so it doesnt really matter)

  • @BuffALotSoldier my german writing was always bad at school. People understand me thats more important

  • @tommysbrowncaddy The fucking 5.7 was a shit engine. It's all about the 379 Detroit Diesel.

  • I got the same engine in my car.

Can`t find a greater engine than this

  • this is 5cly?

  • yes.

  • do you still have this engine and how much is it, how many miles does it have on it?

  • i like the whine of the turbo :]

i can't hear it as well in my 300D, guess it has to do with the exhaust leaking

  • i fixed up that exhaust leak and now i can hear the whine of my turbo :]

  • This is the Best Engine for BioDiesel that Mercedes has ever made

  • It was designed to use Diesel.

  • its the best diesel engine ever made, when it comes to durability

  • Comment removed

  • Rezessionsmottenkist,

What are you talking about? The 617 is iron and is has very good durability... Mine in my 300SD has over 439,000 miles on it. The 603 has problems with the cylinder head!!!

  • @HackebeilHarry and torque

  • @HackebeilHarry

    durability? its practically bullet proof

  • @HackebeilHarry

i actually think otherwise. my uncle owned a 300d, and the engine blew on him three times. all three times, the engine was replaced with one under 60000 miles. he finally dumped it, after spending over 5000 dollars on it. 3 years later, he buys a 240d, with 180000 miles. he ran it until it was given away, at 410000 miles. no hate intended, just informing

  • @HackebeilHarry with a cummins not too far behind.

  • Where is the air filter and why is the linkage disconnected?
