  • Hey! Have you thought about the X7 Guitar Mind Implant (do a search on google)? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my coworker learned to play like in a week with it.

  • Danny, one tip: loose that woolly hat.

  • Ron Howard??? What are you doing here??? :O

  • It sounds better than Slash

  • was pretty disappointed that he doesn't teach the paradise city solo :(

  • @LeeRandleMusic Same here, I got this DVD to learn the outro solo of Paradise City. I can imagine the excuse "it's ab lib'ed...etc.." when really they were just too lazy to work it out. There are plenty of solo's more difficult than Paradise City that are tabbed.

  • @blackcrow6667 Danny playin the right notes, but Slash plays that same notes but lower on the neck.

  • @FanSlash00 Slash plays it in the 12-15th area but it sounds wrong because it's a half-step higher than the recorded version. That, and the guitar, pickup selection, amp...etc...

  • Note for note? I have vol 1 and 2 and there are so many parts when he just says 'improvise it' or something like that, No disrespect but is a little annoying after spending like £25 :/

  • A really bad thing about this dvd is that the delay is still on while he is showing which notes to play. This makes it harder to hear what he's doing and its getting really annoying after ten minutes. Also, no backing tracks included, so after you've learned the sweet child o' mine solo in E you'll have to use the backing track in D# and transpose everything you've learned.

Please thumbs up so people can see think about this before they purchase this dvd.

  • its quite strange that Danny did not explain how his guitars r tuned for this DVD

  • Please, do Learn To Play - Slash' s Snakepit ;d

  • do a steel panther dvd!!

  • @Shelbones01 yes steel panther!!

  • @Clapton....

    Hmmmm....not sure...

Thats what is always missing from these vids imo....a study of the guitar parts of GnR has to be about getting the feel right and the sound!!!....and that means a Les Paul for this...and what pedals/amps to use...These things DO matter...

....and they never show how to do those great 'tumbleling runs' that Slash loves...

    Its all in the detail!!!!....;-)...

Just all sounds a bit 'generic'..

  • Where's the Les Paul?

  • @guidlines Not very openminded...

  • @EricClaptonFan24 Les Paul is Slash, Strat look-a-likes is Clapton.

  • @guidlines My god, seriously, NOT openminded;-). Is it about the looks for you? Because this thing sounds more like a Les Paul than a Strat, with the humbuckers and stuff. Because it looks more like a strat it doesn't mean it sounds more like it. It's not about the shape man.

  • @EricClaptonFan24 you're getting a little worked up there mate. I prefer Les Paul's. Simple. Maybe that's why I own 4 of them. Les Paul's are more synomynous with rock music & that is the type of music I prefer. It's the same as Canon v Nikon in the photography world or Holden v Ford in the V8 races in Australia. There are always rivalries. Some people like Guns 'n Roses, others don't. That's what makes the world go round.

  • @guidlines You are talking shit man ;-). Because you like it he should have used it? Please stop talking, you are making it worse for yourself:-P.

  • @guidlines Also, you are turning the whole thing around. In your latest comment you are saying: everybody has it's own opinion and taste. So you are telling ME that? YOU were the one he should have used a Les Paul. So YOU are the one that doens't respect the taste of other people. Let him use ESP is he wants. I never said what guitar he should play, so don'g go telling me this shit. You are the one that needs to learn from your own comment...

  • @EricClaptonFan24 You're an idiot mate. You took umbridge to my original comment of "Where's the Les Paul?" I can't see in those 4 words where it says "You should only play a Les Paul".

Maybe you should just sit in a room, play your Strat & dream you are playing a Les Paul.

  • @guidlines It suggests Slash should only be played with a Les Paul, and don't say you didn't mean that. And your last sentence is rubbish, just a way to be rude.

  • @EricClaptonFan24 Whatever!!! I have wasted enough time on you. Time to go play my Les Paul & a bit of Slash lol

  • @guidlines Good luck...

  • The best part about these Dvd's is that they're not putting so much effort into them because they want money or whatever, they're doing it cos it rocks!

  • i want that DVD to sell it in tucson or is just for mail?? please answer :)

  • Learn to play slash's solos !.....ON A STRAT ! :D

  • Cool, but a bit boring... You should teach stuff like Brownstone, Easy, Rocket Queen and of course Night Train!

  • @Hawkeye62158 Hi there we have Nightrain lessons and Rocket Queen lessons on Guns N' Roses Volume 2! If you after the link just send us a message back!

  • @fraenkel97 Gay... you need andy james to watch a lesson

andy james is a good shreder

but danny has ROCK soul i like him more than andy james

and i think his lessons are the bests

  • With Gibson this would be perfect!

  • Something doesn't sound right... Are these recorded in E standard tuning?

  • @Sodacake - ya it actually is. I have the dvd, and before he started teaching he said he left the tuning in standard.

  • @Sodacake Yes they are. Danny teaches them in the key of E. It's ok all you have to do is tune down to E flat.

  • @Sodacake I have the DVD, he plays it in E for people with tremolo systems where you can't really tune down. I like learning it in E so whenever I want I can play it, but if I want to play it in a band setting or along to the song, I just tune down my les paul.

  • @Sodacake No, it's tuned a half step down, so it is in D# tuning

  • the same dvd BUT WITH ANDY JAMES PLEASEEEE

  • @fraenkel97 Gill's style suits Guns n Roses' material much better.

  • No Nightrain.. That's tragic... :(

  • Comment removed

  • @Sodacake hahaha, u mean welcome to the jungle? equally tragic my friend.

  • @Sodacake That's Welcome to the Jungle...

  • wasn't this already out like a lot time ago?

  • @10Dante4 Hi yeh we had received an amount of comments regarding the trailer for Guns N Roses Volume 1 - as it was recorded such a long time ago before we made trailers for the DVDs we didnt have one. When Danny last in, he sat down and talked about the DVD, and he we have it. Learn To Play Guns N Roses Volume 1 trailer! :)

  • @licklibrary VERY IMPORTANT!!! Please ask Danny or if you have the answer as to why the songs he taught were recorded in standard tunning and not in E flat???????

  • @MrRandomshite Hi, yeh the entire dvd and jam tracks are in standard tuning - It was done for ease - of course if you want to play in e flat tuning...just tune your guitar down half a step and hey presto everything you learned with the dvd is as the record.

  • I totally agree to what he said about sweet child o' mine. I was waiting at the Airport for some time just practicing scales and two random people came up to me asking whether I could play that song.

  • Songs sound funny, like it's all on a different key? Maybe synch copyrights or some other reason?

  • 2:47 : Sounds like he's playing the sweet child if mine solo correctly note for note, but that's not how Slash plays it.

  • @blackcrow6667 What's the big deal if the notes are right but slash dosen't play iy that way,He's not fucking slash nor trying to be him.

  • @SRV1DOORS1HENDRIX1 Just saying it may not be accurate to how the musicians play it so, as far as I am concerned, that's something I look for in a quality transcription, you may have lesser standards.

  • @blackcrow6667 Nah I don't exactly have lesser standards but if you need to learn something note for note and play it the same way everytime that's just poor and lazy.Slash and every other great musician improvise,They're not to bothered or worried if it's what they did note for note on the record.Just saying.

  • @SRV1DOORS1HENDRIX1 Like Rudicci said before his comment got removed, the same notes do sound differently depending on where you play them, it's subtle, but it's there and I want to know I'm playing it similar to the musicians I admire, not some approach which may be more or less difficult. I want to know their style, not some other persons style.

  • @blackcrow6667 sorry, was my fault... i misspelled some word :P You right... i have the same problem with john petrucci (my personal favorite :P) when i look for tabs or lesson of any Song and sometimes shows it in one way, maybe an easier way.. but when i see JP playing live, he do it on another complete different way, and when he explain why he plays it like that, is because some technical purpose. The thing that i don't get is why the other dude was so acid with you...

  • @blackcrow6667 aslong you dont see in the title slash teaching you to play guns n roses dont do comments like this and wanna learn why ? cause noone is slash , slash is slash .. this guy is here to show you the notes the licks and so

  • @Georg5555 I could say what I want thanks PLUS, they are trying to teach Guns N' Roses songs and there is a RIGHT way to play them and a WRONG way so STFU.

  • @blackcrow6667 im not gonna spend more time commenting , peace

  • @blackcrow6667 which method is easier to play is it the Danny's way or Slash's way ?

  • @blackcrow6667 simple thing is if the notes are right then youve played it correctly the point of say covering a song is to sound like the song , playing it like the guitarist does is cool but is very unimportant , as many performing guitarist will play it differently live then they do in studio or sometimes add bits to there solo or riff to add there own flare which is different than there original recording , personnally if i covered live id far prefur to add my own flare than playing nfn

  • I have this dvd is an old one?

  • @redhard16 Yeh its the one you have - nothing new about it, its just we didnt have the trailer for Volume 1, therefore when Danny was last in, he sat down, we hit record and he we go.

  • Make GnR Vol.3

    Or LTP Poison

  • @combatsector Slash use gibson lp directly in Marshall, for pedal he use wah, reverb and delay

  • Hi Danny

Can you please tell me what gear you used to sound like slash ??

What amp but I'm guessing Marshall

    What pedals ??

    Please help with that

    Bill

  • wasn't this already released?

  • great teacher

  • Lesson seems awesome, just one question: Why is there tape over your guitar?

  • can you teach us all also how to sing as bad as modern axl also please :)
