Hard to say how long it took, as I don't work on any particular video from start to finish.....always working on numerous parts of several different videos at a time. This one, between searching out good elements, photoshop work images/color manipulation/masking, importing it all and actual video creation with all elements, including several renders to find and correct problems.....20-30 hours?

@metalgurmessiah: Congratulations on knowing when to put on the brakes! "Cheesey" is the word that comes to mind when I view videos where the uploader feels the need to put up a photo for every noun in the song. Your video leaves room for interpreteation....

I dig it a lot!! Simple but very clever use of the album art. Including the lyrics is a nice touch (which I hope you'll do with all Rush songs), as the poetry could have been written last week - considering how on point it is with current events. Suggestion if you decide to tackle "the big one": Do a vid for Cygnus X1 Book1 and Book2 (Hemispheres) as one long piece. (This would kill two birds with one stone, as you'd also be doing something from "Farewell to Kings".) Just a thought...

Thrilled you enjoyed the effort.....especially nice to hear from other major Rush fans! I enjoyed working with the (admittedly limited) album art on this one....had gone much further.....hatchets, axes, and saws....puppet-wrap manipulation of the images, etc. but put the brakes on before it got too (much more) cheesy.

Considering your suggestion re: combining Books 1 & 2......actually a couple of days after uploading "The Trees" I started Book 1....pretty far into it already.....

......it would be so cool to bring in the album art elements from Hemispheres, so many cool combinations.....but also thinking about keeping the focus separate for each book (Book I....outer space/Book II...inner space) and limiting the art for each to it's respective album? In which case might be better to keep in separate videos? They're just both so loooooooonnnnnngggggg! LOL! In an awesome way of course!

Thanks D&D! It's amazing how different the lyrics I hear in this song today are from how I heard them in the late 70's! I guess it's always been this way, but the chopping seems to be increasing at an alarmingly fast rate! LOL!

Anyway, like you I've always loved this song.....one of my favorites from a band that has produced many of my favorites! It's also one of those tunes that seems to get better and better with age.

Thanks.....thinking about taking "Brainy", "Pointy", and "Top Hat" (as I referred to the main album art elements I used) and moving onto another tune from Hemispheres....possibly the "big" one! LOL!

And....absolutely this would be a great collab for you guys to do! Hopefully in the near future I'll have mastered my video editing skills to the point where I can pull it off. I''d love to do it.
