It'll work for both. The Rangers had to unload Gomez, as much as I liked him. Out of the big 4 contracts, he was most moveable. I thought the Rangers would get nothing back for him in a salary dump.

Instead, you get back Higgins, who does EVERYTHING and has great hands. To get a guy who could put 30+ up in a move like this is fantastic. Higgins will be great for the Rangers.

You basically dealt away Gomez and his cash to get Higgins, and free room for Gaborik.

Idk because Gomez is mostly a set up man so he didn't do much. Also, Higgins can score goals and loves hockey. I am somewhat happy though because Higgins lives around the block from me.

now we signed jaroslav spacek so we got tthe 2ng D. I still think gainy is getting very expensive players though. I agree with Darren Dreger when he said 3.4 million for spacek, "OUCH".
