how can u not say Godsmack is better? thats not being closed minded stupid. Godsmack is so much better. They should have just bought the lyrics. Robbie, Shannon and Tony arent at their peak with out Sully. U cant have Bonnie and not Clyde. Or Sherlock and not Watson. Its against the laws of everything.
There is nothing sadest than a closed young mind! Saying "Godsmack is better" or "Ugly Kid Joe was better"... this guys have seen beyond his professional limits to bring a respectable fussion of rhytmical, powerful and clever music! Don't you see that?
Ehhh, godsmack was never really good for the instrumentals to me. Decent generic rock band with a good front man is what they always came across ass and this is like...eh. Not bad but I guess I set my expectations too high
@l0lercaust dude that is so underrating godsmack.... shannon is one of the best drummers alive, robbie is so multi-talented as bass player and tony has matured so much as lead guitarrist.... they are rated one of the best live acts in this industry and that goes way beyond being just a nice instrumental band....
@neojimmy721 He's an above average drummer but definitely not one of the best alive. As far as bass/guitar have you heard of Steve Vai or Billy Sheehan? /watch?v=m6qf9RQhjqs at 2:30 watch them go back and forth and tell me anyone who could keep up with these guys. Granted some of it is showmanship and overly technical, a good portion of it sounds better than anything I've heard come out of godsmack. Godsmack isn't bad, but they're underwhelming compared to the greats.
@l0lercaust an above average drummer?... again you are underrating him.... how come so many new drummers from these new generation bands all idolize him?... some even try rippoff his style... i dont need to watch either steve or billy cause ive seen that... maybe you should take some time to see Robbys twofinger bass technic.... he holds some seminars every once in a while.... he was already an awesome bass player before being a Godsmack member... oh btw, Godsmack are already considered Great
concerning Robby, its like i said, check out the Good times Bad times video where he does some double finger technic on the bass... its not much but its a small example o what he was taught... his father was a good jazz musician...
as for shannon, hes been a proffessional musician for almost 30 years, been thru several bands with a great variety of music gendres.... all from trash metal, nu metal, punk, and heavy metal/hard rock...
Shannon, Tony, and Robbie wrote all of this stuff for IV and SUlly selected which songs he liked I dont think the singer or the other guitarist (names?) wrote anything for Another Animal
@Fevnalny lee richards (from dropbox and ex godsmack guitarist), whitfield crane lead vocals (ex ugly kid joe), just like shannon larkin (ex amen, wrathchild america ugly kid joe)..... nahhhh this was all written by tony, shannon and robbie. most of these songs were composed when sully encountered writers block and left godsmack temporarily......
I couldn't agree more........ Godsmack has a seriuos problem. If it weren't for Sully not allowing the other guys to write material they would never have done this. His mistake! Soooo good to see Crane singing again.
wait a second, does whitfield do the vocals for this song on the studio version? (I'm not really familiar with his vocals or ugly kid joe so i'm unsure)
he sits on a stool too much onstage.

@neojimmy721 I've never seen or heard of anyone citing Godsmack's drummer as influence.
I'd say Victor Wooten, Billy Sheehan, Flea, Rob Trujillo, Cliff Burton, Les Claypool are all better basists by FAR.
There are an infinite number of guitarists who are all amazing
and there is an almost limitless number of drummers who exemplify why Godsmack's drummer is good, but not one of the best.
Godsmack is good, but much of their music sounds too similar. They lack a strong amount of variety

@l0lercaust well now theres 2 different subjects.

why cant they just get sully to sing these songs, just pay the guy for the lyrics and godsmack just got themselves a new hit album?

i would have to say lee, is by far the best vocalist that i have ever been in a band with. good songwriter with a great ear for melody.

The verses are sang by Lee Richards and Whit Crane backs-up the chorus.

Gotta love other bandmembers getting mic time. It seems whit enjoys backing and takes it serious enough to do a good and supportive job.
