This was a great and very funny series. I always wished I could have stepped in through the TV screen and into their world. Even the theme song, kind of unusual for a comedy show, was a perfect fit. Long live WINGS!!
i kinda was... i mean Lowell was one of the funniest characters in the show...and he was sooo hilarious...i liked his personality....who can ever have a best friend like him???
Who else was sad everytime the plane shifted to the right? You knew this show was over (and usually was time for bed for me during the early seasons).
I thought it was a little sad, too. Even the ending music was very soothing. I get nostalgic everytime I hear it. Imagine 30 years from now and we here the closing, it's going bring a lot of fond memories of Wings and a simpler time. Maybe that's why I love the show so much. It wasn't a ground breaking sitcom, it was just a funny, touching, simple, little sitcom.
Do you watch the reruns in syndication on USA? I do, but they're on at 6:30 am, so I'm usually getting ready for work when its on - I love watching "Wings" while I eat breakfast.
Yes, I do. I know we have the dvds and youtube, but it's still nice to see it on tv. Watching it in syndication on the USA network back in 2000 was when I actually fell in love with the show. During it's original airing, I was too young to give the show a chance. You you can imagine I was kicking myself after I discovered what a gem of a show it was. I just wish USA would give it a better time slot so other people can discover what a funny and remarkable show this was.
I was very young too - I was 7 years old when it premiered - I can remember watching it occassionally until about the 5th season, when I started watching it more frequently.
I appreciate the humor more now than I did as a child - it truly is a smart program!
@kingofthe90s - Yup, I heard a story about how Megan Mulally almost got fired from the part because she kept imitating Tess Trueheart from "Dick Tracy," and the producers got so annoyed with the voice! Tim Daly ensured that she wouldn't get fired.
@AllisonTheSNLGuru -That's very true, cause I remember that part when I first saw the show with my parents and my old friend R.J. Williams (the child actor that played Sam Baxter on "Wake, Rattle & Roll" and Kit Cloudkicker on "Disney's TaleSpin,") when it first aired in the spring time of 1990.
BTW: Me and R.J. Williams were best friends from 1990 till 1993.
Beautiful.

I loved to watch Wings, and such a closing as this was very scenic. Talk about flying off into the sunset. . .

I especially loved it when Thomas Haden Church was on the show--was anybody else in tears when Lowell left?

@AllisonTheSNLGuru I too was very very young when I first
watch this show when it aired in 1990 and what makes the show
so good that they had many celebrity guest stars, like that ones
from "Cheers", "Frasher" and of course "Will & Grace" too.
(which they had Megan Mulllally as a guest star in the 1990 season.)

@AllisonTheSNLGuru - That's OK. He never guest started on "Wings" but did appear on 2 episodes of "Full House".
