Joe, the amount you donate is not of importance. I have had one person donate 1 penny and I was just as grateful compared to another who may have donated 10, for example. It is the heart that counts not the amount and heart does not come with a $ a,amount! So chill, no worries and if God leads you to donate then that's in His plan, if not then not! Well that all depends on the person but from what people have told me - either treatment funding OR personal reward for all the time and energy I have put into the library of videos I have here which have been used for non profit eating disorder activism and education purposes - with people here, in hospitals and in educational structures (schools and college universities). The whole first year of this account I produced hardcore amounts of lectures, education and help videos... more followed.
My therapist always felt I should be getting paid for what I do. However, I never felt that nessacary and most of the public activism I have done (public beyond YT meaning magazine/print and TV/media) I have turned down most chances to get paid and said I'd rather it be donated to ED foundations/etc. then to me. I never wanted to accept payment in return as that's not where my heart is. People here have pushed the idea. We lost our house,, I got more serious about recovery & people want to help.
So when I create the account I am going to look into the option of people being able to write what the donation is for: Treatment Funding or Personal so I know how to use it. Right now I am getting IVs that are helping save my life and health. We are paying 200 an IV out of pocket. I also get other treatment that is paid for out of pocket... The treatment center I want to go to in Hawaii is not afforable and so that idea is on hold till I can fund it... won't give up hope, ever.
Money issues are not things I talk about here and I will monitor how much I say, especially in respect to my Mother but I am not done on this topic. I won't list all the treatment we have had to pay out of pocket for - I did sit down and think after these comments about what I am currently doing that is paid out of pocket and i find effective. If it wasn't helping I wouldn't be doing it. I go to therapy 2 times a week $180 a week with a big discount included in that price, it should be $380/week
My b12 shots @$25 a shot not covered at my IV clinic as they do not take insurance. My Mom payrs out of pocket for my health insurance which does cover some treatments and has in the past for me. She lost her plan so she has to pay for one for me. Dental bills, let's not even talk figures - sky high with no dental insurance. I lost it and we can't afford it... Most dont realize how EXPENSIVE treatment is. Most don't get it because of this. I am disabled and don't work. I get disability/state $
and my Mom supports the rest. My Mother is an angel. How does she pay? Loan after loan off her house, finally we lost it this spring due to not being able to afford it. it was very depressing. She is a widow and works her butt off doing more than 1 jobs - her main job and 3 side jobs. She uses that money on my treatment and her bills. The only reason I live in a nice place right now is because I was able to help with rent when a relative died and left some money. I helped pre pay rent here.
My Mom doesn't want people to think we don't have the kind of money we use to but reality is we have financial issues. I hope to get better and pay her back as much as I can in the future. For now I must stick to what works and is available for me so I can recover, get better, get back in school and work again. I can't wait to work again one day as an actual career! Goals are great. As for personal usage - I think I would save it up for a new camera for videos here. I never really treat myself
and recently I decided I wanted a new cam but ended up using the money to help some friends and that made me a lot happier to use it that way. I have a little bit of savings money left over which I plan to use on my passion - tattooing - when I'm physically stable again to continue where I left off. So unless someone wants me to spend personal donation a certain way I think I will start saving for a new cam for better quality vids for all of you to watch, learn and enjoy! Team work!
