@TheAnimelover333 It's because of the game Tohru used to play called Fruits Basket. But the other kids excluded her. In the game all kids are fruits, but they told Tohru to be the riceball, which explains all the riceballs that appear in the anime. ^^

Umm... Well I've been reading the manga to Fruits Basket for the past few days but also want to get around to watching the anime at some point so...

Could smeone give me a rough guess possibly as to what chapter in the manga the anime currently is at?

The anime doesn't cover all the manga chapters, but all the episodes are out for the anime

I think the anime only reaches to volume 8 or 9 of the manga, and there's a total of 21 volumes if I remember correctly. The last episodes of the anime are very different from the corresponding manga chapters because they wanted to end the story in only one season, and that's a HUGE bummer :/ anyway I'd recommend watching the anime first, if only to get to hear Ayame ^_^
