  • Sen. Chuck You Schumer is a real political jerk!

  • May you burn in hell Scumer.

  • To all you New York SOBs, I'm pretty sure the very FIRST word in Space was "HOUSTON, the eagle has landed" NOT NEW YORK. Every movie about space is based in HOUSTON & SPACE, NOT NEW YORK! This is complete & total BS. Also, Mr. Schumer, people from all over the world do come to Houston for vacation, to see the space station. Like someone else posted, we have Columbia scattered all over our state. All I have to say to Schumer, you better hope you never have to come down here, you are not welcome.

  • @luczak619 I've been to Houston. It was a Sunday evening and all the restaurants were empty. There were a few people hanging out at a local club. I ran into one black guy asking for money. It is the most boring city for the size. I hear people going to New York for vacation, shopping, movie, musicals, sight seeing. I have never heard of anyone saying I am going to Houston for a vacation.

  • This Video is Inappropriate.

  • New York! Yes!

  • "Houston, we have a problem"...not NY....

  • THis fagget peace of shit, guys like you are reason whyour state and country are goning to fall where gonna take our boots and a longhorn and suve both up your asshole!!!!!!

  • Attention ithacapimp, yakovgolyadkin & kterris1 - if you don't like Texas, then GET THE HELL OUT OF MY STATE. We don't need you. Thanks and goodbye.

  • So much for dispelling the arrogant, irritating New Yorker stereotype!

  • i hate that guy he has no right to talk down to texas. New York has a stupid excuse. I will mess with New York until we get the shuttle because Houston worked their buts off every mission to get the shuttle in the air and to not be recognized is just wrong and mean. We Need the shuttle. Oh and say Houston right.

  • u def dont wanna mess with new yorkers were some of the grittiest people in the country

  • This man makes me wretch, and I am from NY...upstate tho...where normal people live

  • it's politics, Texas is being punished for being a red state. need proof? then why are they stripping us of our simulators and test equipment as well? and to further prove a point we get chairs..

    it's politics.

    do what's right fellas

  • chuck norris will roundhouse kick this man to the face

  • Mr. Senator , I think you got that backwards " Don't Mess with Texas" !

This guy is a class less act . Very tasteless and way to represent New York

  • I have family in Houston....that city is ugly and boooooring. NYC is a much, much, much more interesting city. Houston is almost 3rd world in comparison to NYC.

  • @xuimod Thank you . My thoughts exactly . Its over 100 degrees everyday. Its just ridiculous . Texas is shit . Cant wait to leave

  • Hey, Chucky! How about Texas sues You for "Copyright Infringement!" The "Don't Mess With..." was Copyrighted by Texas, You Twit! Eat The Space Shuttle that New York has & "Choke On It!" Just goes to show You how much Brains it takes to be a U.S. Senator! NONE!

  • nigga be holdin the bruthas down ny jew piece of shit

  • It's not about tourists, its about honor you pathetic idiot!!

  • That fella's looking for an old-fashioned Texas 'Howdy'!!

  • That fella's looking for an old-fashioned Texas 'Howdy'!!

  • Why the Fuck do you New yorkers deserve it. Tell me have you even helped with the space program NO. Houston controls NASA NASA is home to Houston no NY

  • Why don't we just go ahead and move the Alamo to NYC since more people will see it there? Oh, that's right -- BECAUSE IT'S NOT PART OF NEW YORK'S HISTORY! NYC has nothing _significant_ to do with the space program. They deserve this as much as Tacoma deserves to have Radio City.

Look, I generally like NYC and have relatives there. But Schumer is a classless @sshat of the worst type. He's a clueless elitist who not only knows nothing about Houston, but can't pronounce it. Shove it, Chuck.

  • Just like I have been saying about why NASA didn't put a shuttle in Houston is like this, who's putting money in NASA's pocket? It's all about who put the money in the pot

  • 2124864430 this is him right?

  • I just can't wait to go to Houston...

  • Yeah wth is youston?

  • What is Youston?

  • what a fuck'n douche bag we called to space city for a reason num nuts

  • Texas voted for McCain. New York didn't. Obama is now giving out rewards. New York, a city who had nothing to do with the space program (screwing America through TARP issues yes) doesn't deserve anything related to the space program. Schmuck Schumer is an ass.

  • @IrenicIronist He's actually accurate about the fact that more people visit NY, so it does kind of make sense for it to go to NY. It's generally a nice city.

  • @redwing634 Then why not put every single artifact from around the world in the world's most visited city? Why save ANY piece of history for other cities?

  • @redwing634 mondiablue beat me to the point. In my opinion the space shuttle makes about as much sense in New York as the Empire State building belongs in Houston.

  • @redwing634 No it's about the FACT that NASA's headquarters are in Houston. Have been since the beginning. New York in no way has ever been associated with the space program. Plus there have been several articles in New York that have asked the question of "why are we getting it" and some saying "we don't deserve it." There is no good argument for it to go to NYC

  • @birdman026 Sure there is; the fact that more people would see it in NYC. So many more tourists visit NYC (enormous amount compared to Houston), so that's where it's most visible.

  • @birdman026 Wrong. NASA's HQ is at 300 E Street SW in Washington, DC. They were formerly based out of Langley, VA. New York is where the Apollo LEM was developed. NASA even has a research facility located above the real restaurant often shown on 'Seinfeld'. Houston's JSC is *one* of 18 huge facilities that NASA operates in 12 different States.

This delusion that Texas is so special and deserves so much special recognition at the expense of 'the other 49' has gotten really old and annoying.

  • @bluoval96 except that it's mission control... ya no biggie... just the astronauts train and live here, JSC is the central point for ALL shuttle missions. ya I can see how New York deserves it more because they think it'll attract more tourists, oh yeah...

  • @kterris1 KSC launched every single shuttle mission and did the upkeep/vehicle assembly for the whole fleet. Palmdale built the damn things. Face it, Houston has only *once* been physically close to a shuttle orbiter in the course of a mission- and that was because of Columbia's loss over Texas on STS-107. Not to imply any disrespect on my part to the crew and families of STS-107, but those are the facts.

  • @bluoval96 where was it designed? houston, where did it's crew train and live? Houston. last year i went to get food at subway, a crew from the astronaut corps walks in behind me. like it or not the facts are that Houston is the home of putting men in space. KSC may be in control of launch and landing, but JSC is the control center for their entire time in space, which constitutes the vast majority of time for any given mission. like it or not Houston is the home to manned spaceflight.

  • @IrenicIronist TARP was signed into law by George Bush.

  • @crayzbus Bush did sign TARP into law in 2008 which is part of the reason I think Bush's second term was a failure in my opinion. What's your point?

  • Hey Chuck - Go Fuck Yourself!

  • Oh and last I checked I thought all you yank Democrats (not that I am Republican AT ALL) wanted to END manned space exploration. So why do you seem to all of a sudden give a crap about something that encompasses something you're against? Don't mess with TEXAS. And HOUSTON, not YOU-STON. NASA is Houston, we are space city and DAMN PROUD. The shuttle isn't a collection item in our vast collection, it's part of our hardworking community. Our people engineered these parts, the astronauts live here!

  • @DarkxSekretxLove Wrong. Rockwell Int'l. and the Palmdale research center in California engineered the shuttle fleet. We taxpayers in the Other 49 paid for the shuttles, and deserve to enjoy them in a proper museum setting. JSC and their local Congressional reps should have put together a better proposal for housing a shuttle orbiter than saying 'we deserve it, so gimme gimme'.

  • Houston wants the shuttle for all the right reasons, not TOURISM and more money. NASA and the space industry in general is the backbone of our city. I live 2 miles from NASA and my family and most of my friends' family work for the space industry. It's part of our community and our history. And people from PARIS, and LONDON and BUENOS AIRES have heard of Houston and do come to visit our little podunk of the 3rd largest city in the USA. Mostly to see NASA. You know, MISSION CONTROL.

  • @DarkxSekretxLove The terms of what museums had to do to earn a shuttle orbiter were known from the beginning: pay the $30M to transport it, offer up a proper display venue for it, and have the tourist volume to sustain the shuttle as an attraction for the American people AND international visitors. Houston's proposal didn't measure up because they just assumed they were entitled to an orbiter; get over it.

  • @bluoval96 New York doesn't have the facilities to house, Houston has several... we already have a fine collection of NASA items, so why break up the collection? what has NY done for the space program? nada.

  • @kterris1 Yeah, I've seen this fine collection personally. If JSC took better care of the unique and valuable artifacts in their possession instead of just collecting dust and lackluster exhibit designs, maybe there would have been some better news from NASA HQ last month. Oh well, live and learn.

You know those LEM's that put Neil and Buzz and the others on the moon? Designed and built in NY.

  • @bluoval96 first word spoken on the moon? oh yeah, HOUSTON.

  • NASA can pay for the gas in NY. Gas is cheaper in TX LOL ;-b

  • I wish we could use the Astrodome as a museum of the space shuttle. We are obviously not getting the space shuttle back and we have nothing to do with the abandoned Astrodome so lets use it as our space shuttle museum and honor the proud history our shuttle has given us.

  • @Ryles95

    That's a pretty awsome idea!

  • Yall can have the shuttle! As long as we get the world trade center! yank

  • Nice way to take "don't mess with Texas" and insert NY in there. Douchebag

  • lol, it's not even YOU-ston. and we are called the space city for a reason. you sir are an asshole.

  • fu-q queer looking Senator

  • New York City primarily sees the retired Space Shuttles as being a money making tourist attraction.

Houston primarily sees the retired Space Shuttles as honoring Challenger, Columbia and all of our astronaut corps who have trained at Johnson Space Center.

  • yeah, NY should get it because they contributed so much to the space program. /sarcasm

  • OH YEAH. First words on the moon? "Houston. The Eagle has landed."

  • @gothdrummer7 Shwoomer doesn't understand history. He is too busy getting bought out. Yes it was "Houston, the Eagle has landed." Didn't hear anything about NYC in that article. The shuttle belongs in "Space City."

  • What an arrogant piece of shit. And he's a senator? Taunting an entire city? How childish, kind of like how when a 5 year old has a toy, and a classmate doesnt, and yells "Haha I have a cool toy and you don't!" He should resign. Like, now.

  • I'm normally a big supporter of Schumer, and ardently anti-Texas, but New York does not deserve a shuttle and Houston does.

  • @yakovgolyadkin just curious, any reason you're anti-Texas?

  • @kterris1 Because I'm from California, and have lived in Texas for almost a decade. Being from California has given me an inherent anti-south bias, and being in Texas has really just confirmed all of the negative things I'd heard about it before I moved here. Apart from the barbecue, Texas has no redeeming qualities in my mind.

  • @yakovgolyadkin I'm in the exact opposite boat, I'm from Texas, but have lived and went to high school in California, and feel the same way towards California...

but in the end there's a reason that Texas is the fastest growing state for businesses :P and more people are moving to Texas now than to California

  • @kterris1 Texas is in the same boat California is in financially, the difference is, California isn't firing half of the public school teachers to fix the budget.

I frankly could care less about businesses. The fact that Texas is willing to cut education spending so much makes it a horrible place. Businesses may want to move here, but it is the worst place in the country to try to raise kids.

  • @yakovgolyadkin Thank you. I have lived in Texas for 15 reasons and it sucks for so many reasons. Finally someone agrees.

  • Typical politician.....has nothing better to do than to address the people of Houston as a whole, insighting contraversy. There is over two million people in Houston and most are tending to their every day lives putting food on the table and dealing with this tuff economy. Clueless to the attack on their being. Yet you have this state employee rambling about who gets a space shuttle. He needs to get his priorities straight.

    You will get your terrorism(tourism)!!!!!!!

  • This guy is a complete douchebag! Houston has been the nerve center of NASA and the space program since DAY ONE!

WTF does New York have ANYTHING TO DO with the NASA or the Space Program??? This guy needs to pull his head out of his ass, and stick it right back in!

  • your standing in front of one out of 8 attraction's new york has and many more never ben so idk what all new york has to offer. Houston doesn't. have many except bunch of museums. so to you sen i say to you as Dick Cheney working in wall-mart go fuck your self

  • Schmuck Schumer... Is it me, or does he look like a penis with ears? I thought the Scape Center was in Houston. Am I wrong? I agree with orbiters going to Kennedy Space Center in Florida and the Smithsonian in D.C. The California Science Center in L.A. makes sense as a West Coast location, too. But, once again, the Middle of the country loses out to the Coasts! Houston is THE MOST LOGICAL choice for the last one! New York City?!?! 'Get a rope.'

  • Don't mess with New York? I'm pretty sure the phrase is "Don't mess with Texas"

    Jack ass

  • @tjs9351 YES!!! You are correct sir.

  • Ah, well, Senator. In spite of your gracious attitude, we do have the shuttle "Columbia" in Texas. Pieces of it are embedded in our soil - and hearts - forever.

  • err.. meant

    SchumerFaced,

    lol

  • Shumerfaced - when a politician by the name of Shumer gets on TV and makes an ass of himself

  • Famous quotes:

"Manhattan, Tranquillity Base here. The Eagle has landed."

"Staten Island, we have a problem."

    ... I don't think so.

  • go fuck yourself yankee

  • Go fuck yourself

  • You have to wonder if New York OR Houston are really aware of what they're fighting over.

Enterprise was never an orbiter, as Discovery, Atlantis, & Endeavor were. Never flown in space, not even once; only used in landing tests in the 70's, and displayed at airshows afterward. It's been at the Smithsonian for almost a decade. All NASA is doing is making room for Discovery -they had to bump Enterprise off to somewhere.

You'd think more tourists would want to see a vehicle that flew missions.

  • @ThamiumOne

Discovery is supposed to go to Washington, I think. But Houston put up a lack luster effort in trying to get one of the shuttles because they figured they would automatically get one. Then they weren't picked and Texas thought, we should've got one, but not too big a deal. Then this guy came out and stirred the pot...

At this point, Schumer attacked the infamous Texan pride and now it is an actual deal. It is about pride, not money for Texans. For New York, it is about the money.

  • @lambdaofbacon

But again, my point was why Schumer is so full of swagger over a "prototype" shuttle??? He honestly thinks that Enterprise is going to attract the same number of people that Discovery will in D.C., or Atlantis will at the Cape?

I don't get his logic on that part, that's all.

  • @ThamiumOne

He is a politician. He doesn't know the difference between the product and the prototype, just like most tourists.

  • @ThamiumOne we at least want something to commemorate our history, the fact that NY is bitching about not getting an orbiter speaks volumes about their 'entitled' status

  • Oh really? These is the people that put him in power. 212-373-3000. Blow their phones up and demand he say hes sorry!

  • this assclown just woke up a sleeping giant. I doubt ny can afford maintenance. I expect my taxes to goup again. If they do im moving to texas

  • Space City has been the center of NASA's manned spaceflight program for almost 50 years and now this dolt believes he can shit all over such a distinguished history?

Don't put up with this man's misguided sense of entitlement, this shuttle belongs in Space Center Houston.

  • Schumer face now makes me want to throw up

  • I just moved to New York three weeks ago from my 15 years in Texas. It is not my home state but I love it more than I thought I could love a state, I proudly have my Bucees and Don't Mess With Texas bumpers stickers on my car. To me, this is so insulting. I didn't need another reason to hate this place. I can't get over how insanely rude the people in this state are. I'm so sick of these accents. They are the most revolting voices, if you can't pronounce your R's, you sound like a retard.

  • Now I see why he's scared Houston is going to get the shuttle.

It's because Houston is THE BEST CITY OF THE YEAR proclaimed by Fast Company Magazine.

    bizjournals(dot)com/houston/news/2011/04/20/fast-company-names-houston-city-of-the(dot)html

  • No Mo Fo. YOU DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS !!!!!! Bite a Rock-

  • New York...

Bunch of snooty, good for nothing, pansy assed YANKS.

Thanks you for enforcing the stereotype, Sch-muck.

  • Wish i was standing in front of you i would push your ugly wrinkled ass in the water, cant believe the nerve after we had our men in new york helping with 9/11.I dont need to say much you are making a huge mega ass of your self talking about my city we would eat you alive and spit you out on your suit and tie ass you arrogant piece of shit!!!!!

  • YOU LITTLE PIECE OF CRAP WE SHOULD HAVE THAT SHUTTLE,NOT NEW YORK!!!! STICKING A SHUTTLE IN NEWYORK IS LIKE PUTTING YOUR STATUE OF LIBERTY OUT IN THE COUNTRY SOMEWHERE LOL SO STUPID!!!!

  • I ask every one to join me , An embarrassed New Yorker, To write an E-mail to N.A.S.A. asking they reconsider and send a Retired Space Shuttle to it's rightful Home in Houston. public-inquiries@hq.nasa.gov

  • Houston shale shove a rocket up his ass

  • Schumer. You are a classless piece of trash.

  • I'm in shock, why would you even represent anywhere in our government with that attitude. I am deeply appalled by this piece of shit man, and the message he's giving. He can go fuck himself if he thinks we are giving up that easy. Houston Texas is where the shuttle belongs!

  • Well I will say this Space Center Houston, since I have a membership there, ALL the countries he mentioned and more visit, & those individuals from those countries visit all the time. You walk around and there are so many different languages being spoken. He doesn't know what he is talking about there. That shuttle will be in Houston where it belongs period. For it to be in New York would be absurd and make no sense. New York is cool but the shuttle is meant to be in Houston. Thanks hobo59!

  • States already fighting over revenue...just a matter of time til they're fighting over things like food and water...oh wait, 6 western states are ALREADY fighting over the water rights to the Colorado River.

It's just a matter of time, in the next few years or so, that the U.S. encounters the same fate as the FORMER Soviet Union. They over spent...thus they collapsed! Damn is it about to get ugly here in the States...

  • what a classless ass.

  • How come he can't pronounce Houston?

  • @jonathanrootcom

um, how exactly do you pronounce "Houston"?

  • @Rickyrab Just like your mom!

  • Hey Schmuer---taken from a line on a video I just saw "Honey, don't bite off from Texas more than you can chew"! Or in your own words "just for-gid 'bout it"!

  • Oh Hell no, I can't believe that stupid ass hole city boy just said what he said. You don't mess with Texas. Y'all should be ashamed that he is your rep. The shuttle clearly belongs at Johnson. I mean it's mission control. Do they say "new York we have a problem" ? No. Long live the southern way of life!

  • Since when did NYC ever get involved in the space program??? Does he not know where mission control is?

  • Fuck New York! Houston will kick New York's ass anyday!

  • This video has the same thumbs up/down ratio as Friday. Just as it deserves.

  • @Chrisdrumz

    1) It's Texas. Did you expect it to not be hot? We have egg frying contests on the sidewalk.

    2) Yes, it is a haven for illegals. Why do you think so many people in Texas are angry about it?

    3) If there is nothing of tourist value, wouldn't a space shuttle provide something? NY has many tourist attractions and all they would get out of this would be money. Houston, on the other hand , would get a small sense of community due to the work and reward from getting a shuttle.

  • @lambdaofbacon Excellent counterpoints.

  • @lambdaofbacon --it would open up jobs in Houston--and there is a LOT in TX that thousands upon thousands come to see.

  • @Chrisdrumz then we are glad you left

  • @chefjackiea Left Brooklyn? Me 2. It was becoming a shithole. Too many Libs up there. Then again, there are too many bible thumpers down here.

  • bringtheshuttlehome . com send a letter to the reps. of texas!! thums up so everyone can see it and send a letter

  • well I guess we should just close all the museums and ship everything to that shithole NYC... what an asshole!

    the shuttle belongs in Houston

  • Schumer also forgot to mention that TOURIST will also becoming from Afghanistan too!

  • Somebody already messed with NY and, if I'm not mistaken, you have a few less buildings as a result.

  • fucking idiot.

  • Where exactly is "youston" anyway?"

  • f*ck Schumer!

    Don't mess with Texas, Chuck!

  • @serpephone

    ditto!

  • i lived in ny all mmy life it's full of dictators

  • what an ass everyone in houston had already let it go but NOW.. everyone is back on it & hello the phrase is "HOUSTON, we have a problem..." & WELL WHAT DO YOU KNOW WE DO! with them giving OUR shuttle! slap in the face to us!!!f NYC really? really? like someone goes to NY "1st thing i wanna do is go see the shuttle!!!" uh yeah riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

  • @pwtricia9

We never let it go. He's just fueling the already burning fire. They will lose.

  • FOR GOD SAKES WE ARE SPACE CITY! (meaning houston tx)

  • Are ya'll gonna take this shit Texans? Where's ya'll's elected officials on this...they ALL should be calling this piece of excrement out!

  • @gunloc26

You can thank the Obama administration--strategically placing the shuttles in important "swing states"

    Bastards...

  • @cool112jjas i dont think this is a correct assumption

  • @chatterbox09

you're just being a damn liberal...

  • @cool112jjas no im pretty sure Obama and congress had nothing to do with it, not going to say your wrong but I dont have any evidence either so im not saying im right...but politics isn't involve b/c there is other matters at hand and it think its more about money and tourism

  • @chatterbox09

    it's political

    I guarantee it!

  • @serpephone Doubtful. Chicago's Adler Planetarium would be popping the champagne corks over getting an orbiter if that were true. They got shut out just like Houston, due to *shock* not enough space tourism compared to the Intrepid, California Science Center, KSC, and the NASM.

  • ny sucks

  • You know who say's "I can't wait for my visit to Houston?" People who want the Best healthcare in the World. The best cancer treatment facilities are in Houston. Rep. Giffords didn't go to NYC after some madman shot her.

There is nothing that NYC has that Houston doesn't, but there is a lot that Houston has that NYC doesn't.

To quote Hank Williams Jr. "Send me to hell or New York City, it'll be about the same to me."

  • hes dumb we have NASA!!! if anything we here in Houston deserve the damn shuttle! Gee people from New York -____- that guy is a smuck!

  • Remember Challenger and Columbia!

Many have responded that number of visitors that a city has should be the main factor for the placement of the Space Shuttles, thereby ignoring Houston’s history with NASA and the Space Shuttle Program. If number of visitors is the main criteria for placement of the Space Shuttles…then Las Vegas, Nevada or Honolulu, Hawaii should please many people as permanent locations for the Space Shuttles.

  • slob

  • Fuck you scumer!

  • No, Senator Schumer, it is not "You don't mess with New York!" The correct adage is as follows: "DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS!" And, by the way, my husband is part Silician .............. so why don't you "forget 'bout it" Senator Schumer. (LOL)!!!!

  • @MsGardenDivaHuffsmit

Also "Don't Mess with Texas" originally was and still is an anti-littering campaign in Texas... It just seems to have taken on a new life.

But yeah, Houston has the Lyndon B Johnson Space Center. The first word said on the moon was "Houston". If anyone deserves a shuttle, Houston should've been the first in line.

  • @lambdaofbacon ---You're right--it is the COMMAND CENTER---they didn't say "Florida" (b/c it's not really in Orlando,). This also brings me to a link on youtube: look under KTBC 1986 Promos---will show Stevie Ray Vaughn, the Fabulous Thunderbirds & countless of others--Don't Mess With Texas. This site won't let me post the url

  • @chefjackiea

Yeah... Kennedy Space Center is in Cape Canaveral. I thought that was known.
