Does anybody know how you would decipher or tell if the sheet music is meant to be played in a certain octave? For example: instead of middle C , if it was the first C to the Left of the piano?

@ColinTheAwesomest dont learn it like that, you will suffer in the long term. once you become better at it you will always refer to G for George etc and this will make you loose a second in thinking of it so you will have problems playing the faster songs.

@peaceloveandmusic34 when you repeat the notes for another scale if it's higher or lower it's called an octave . If you still play the notes he showed you the music and it has different notes it will show you higher or lower notes with a line through them like middle C

Becuase that right there that he taught us is very few keys for that big piano.

Im trying to teach my self how to play the piano, but it's confusing and no one can tell me how it works and stuff. I know that the letters ABCDEF and G are repeated on the piano, but what the guy taught is that it only repeats on the bass and treble cleff in sheet music twice, or even just once like the "A" in the Treble Cleff.

I'm confused as hell! on the treble cleft the notes were displayed, and I'm alright, I get it. Then on the bass cleft, the same notes were shown but each note was a different letter than the ones on the treble cleft! Someone please help me out here! I don't get it!

rewatch the video. the notes on the treble clef are differnt then the notes on the bass clef. if you go from the "g" below "middle c" then that is the first note of the bass clef. now playing every other note (skipping one each time ie g, b, d etc) and keep going up you will eventually reach the top of the bass clef. each note in between those notes are the spaces and they follow the same exponential rule. Hope that helps.
