To those of you (Americans) that say heavyweight boxing is in the shit, just because there are no American heavyweight champion boxers, think about this. The sport has evolved, todays fighters are bigger/stronger, more countries are represented, and there is more talent, more boxers in the divisions. Taking away the credibility from the Eastern Europeans is not doing you guys good.
btw america has like 10 good contenders at the moment, george foremans son is my favorite hes fightin tomatoe cans but he is just like his dad with +1 inch reach
If Buster Douglas can be in this video, I see no reason why the Klitschko's can't. Vitali was winning against Lennox by points, but the fight had to be stopped because of a cut. They're more or less equals. Say what you want about Wladimir, but he has managed to become a good champion in a bad time for the sport, not unlike Marciano and Tyson. Both of them have also never denied a challenger.
@DrYsr22 im 4-0 at the moment i train every day to lift the tittle and save boxing, im not even in the top 50 of england yet but i will be no 1 in the world soon

at minut 7:18 there's : John L. Sullivan (1882-1892) ????? he was lived 10 years only???? LOL

@paygi110709 Ali was a myth & most people who dont know the sport believe him to be the greatest...i find it quite sad & amusing, even ali himself knows he was not the greatest, that title belongs to SUGAR RAY ROBINSON.
Joe Louis ranks as the second best heavyweight in history in my book. I just think his slow shuffle footwork was his only weakness. Against Ali that would be a major disadvantage.
Marciano was "Friends" with the mob, but never was any fight no legit. Thats a fact, who ever's saying that bull-shit doesn't know what there talking about, and probably heard from someone, who again doesn't know what there talking about. I talked to his family, and in no way was he using the mob for anything, especially boxing. Yes the mob made money off him, only from GAMBELING!

@krimosibi thats what i keep trying to tell people, people think cause somebody goes undefeated there the best ever, ali fought the best and i think hes the greatest ever he wasn't scared of nobody
I just tell ya! Maybe they are the greatest today... but that`s not so hard like ten years before... Wich great names had the klitschkos foght? Lennox Lewis? Oh yea! And Klitschko lost by TKO! Chris Byrd? Yes, and Klitschko lost by SUBMISSION! NO FIGHTER WITH A HEART; IS GONNA SUBMIT The Cahllangers today? Some half invalid old mans Smal people (under 1,80 cm) And Fools like kevin Johnson who got ta hell no idea, what it meens to fight 12 Rounds... So tell me... why are Klitschkos the best?
Ali was the only boxer who stood toe to toe with Sonny Liston in their first fight . Just watch the 6th round. Thrilla In Manila is another example. Tyson couldnt last 15 rounds with Muhammad Ali. When he was past his prime he went toe to to with Ernie Shavers. Boxing is about hitting and not being hit. Ali comes down off his toes when he has too. Who want to look like Marciano , or 'enry Cooper after a fight ? Ali was clever. The Greatest and you know it !!!! Get out of here !!!!
neither valuev which is only raw nature strength. To me great champions, heavyweightchampions, are dempsey, liston, tyson. cause ali was a great entertainer, a great defensive and tehnician, but to me boxing is more like tyson, more attack more agressivity not punching from outside and running, but rather fighting ;)

Some boxers maintained a very high level for a long period. Others only remained at their peak briefly. Tyson reached a level higher than any boxer in history but was shot by his mid twenties. How did he lose to buster douglas then? Simply the greatest upset of all time inspired by death of his mother while Tyson was over confident. Ali had the most impressive career. The increasing population of the world means the standard should increase. I'm not sure it has. Hollyfield Len Lewis Klitschkoetc
Wladimir KlitschKO ignored ? I wonder why ? Why stop with Lennox Lewis ? Lewis was nearly knocked out by Wladimir's brother Vitali-widely considered the lesser of the two fighters. Lewis retired when a big money rematch with Vitali KlitschKO was on the table. I wonder why Wladimir KlitschKO is being ignored ?
Lennox was brought to the end by Vitali KlitschKO. Lewis was still fighting at a high level when he fought Vitali- and while he was a great champion - he retired from boxing rather than grant Vitali a rematch. The boxing world wanted to see that rematch- let the record show Lewis retired.
yes yes lennox wAs 38 years old and vitali 32 EQUAL!! ALI WITH 32 YEARS OLD WON FOREMAN BY KO!! WITH 38 YEARS OLD HE WAS NOTHING!!
LEWIS WON VITALI!!! AND AFTER OF HIS PRIME!!! END OF THE HISTORY AND YOU WANTED REMATCH? YOU ARE VERY FUNNY. LENNOX PRIME WOULD GIVE100 REMATCHS TO VITALI!!!
THEN ALI VS FOREMAN? REMATCH?ALI IS 7 YEARS OLDER THAN GEORGE.
AND MARCIANO? WHY NOT 50-0? SCARED?SONNY LISTON... FLOYD PATTERSON.. LENNOX GAVE 1 FIGHT TO VITALI, AND LEWIS WON!!
Lewis was a young 38. Boxers are fighting longer now because they keep in better shape- they work out all year etc. Lewis matured late-he was at his best about 35 or 36- he was not old at all at 38. George Forman won the crown was he was over 40; Bernard Hopkins was a better fighter at 38 than he was at 28- you can look it up. Vital KlitschKO is now 38 and still boxing well- he just defeated Chris Arreola, a highly regarded young heavyweight. Vitali is 6-7/250 lbs with great power
Tyson DID have a GLASS JAW. I could have knocked him out, If,,, I aver got the chance. Tyson was the best I ever seen till he got lazy, and went to prison,
oh yea The Real Deal was mighty tough also. I would have to say out of all the heavyweight,s Ali was the best, he could take a shot and come back and knock the shit out of ya!! I have followed boxing for 50 years and Ali has a lot of hype, but ck out some of his fights, tho Frazier would have beaten him had he just come out for the final round, cause Ali was done. But thats history Smokin Joe never got his just due,s ,, and that,s a real shame
ua his problem is he is short if he had the jeight of foreman or lewis nodbody coud beat him now u can beat him if u do like lewis u just jab him off of u but ok i change my number 3 to prime riddick bowe his was my first number 3 but switcht to tua
Great video. My top ten heavyweights: 1. Johnson 2. Louis 3. Ali 4. Dempsey 5. Liston 6. Tunney 7. Frazier 8. Marciano 9. Foreman 10. Jeffries Well, for this week anyway. I'll probably change my mind if I think about it. There might seem to be some anomalies, but I put eg Frazier above Marciano because imo he was champ in a more competitive climate. I don't think recent guys like Lewis, Holyfield, Tyson belong in any ranking of all-time greats. Foreman could be higher, and Charles?
Yes, I see your point re. Holmes. Excellent boxer, a more punishing jab than Ali, great recuperative ability (Snipes, Shavers, etc). On a given day he might even beat a couple on my list. For all that, I see him as a lesser Joe Walcott, who I believe hit harder, and who as an older man performed creditably against better fighters. Holmes came at the tail end of the great 70s era,and met none of the stars on his way up. Yet he was a product of it and is way ahead of those who've come since.
I love their gloves...

Forgive me for being so frank, but you are an IDIOT!
It's not the Klitschkos' fault that they have no worthy opponents.
It's a little hard to compare but my guess is: At least Vitaly would have beaten the crap out of Marciano. (Look at their physics, man!)
Vitali was one of the few EVER to stand pretty well against a giant like Lennox Lewis (when the latter was in good shape).
Amongst the living boxers they will not be beaten for a while - now that Wladimir has taken care of his "glass - chin".
salosdot 2 years ago
I will forgive you...
but i don`t think so!
Marciano was so fast as Floyd Mayweather it is today!
He got technical defense skils you don`t see in boxing today...
I have to remind you: Max Bear did kill with his right hand one of his opponents... (RIP Franki Campbell)
Marciano kiled someone NEARLY by a punch on his body...
I never said, that the klinschkos aren`t the best today... but if you look at the past, and the boxers of the past... Klitschkos looks like crap!

I wonder why Wladimir KlitschKO is being ignored ?

when lewis fought with vitali, lennox was in his end, aND STILL he WON vitali by cuts but he WON!!! END OF THE HISTORY.
VITALI OR WLADIMIR THEY ARE SHITS.

VITALI IS A JOKE!!

Yeah, he just lost the heart for the sport after his trainer died.

oh yea The Real Deal was mighty tough also.

Next to ALI, Smokin Joe was the toughest motherfucker I have ever seen

True, watch the master that is ALI at 4:13.
A perfect example of him

All that U.S. heavyweight boxing has left is Rocky Balboa and great memories of the good ol' times.
These days ex-soviet boxers are beating the shit out of everybody.

dont even mention Holmes at all?
gqmighty 2 years ago
Yes, I see your point re. Holmes. Excellent boxer, a more punishing jab than Ali, great recuperative ability (Snipes, Shavers, etc). On a given day he might even beat a couple on my list. For all that, I see him as a lesser Joe Walcott, who I believe hit harder, and who as an older man performed creditably against better fighters. Holmes came at the tail end of the great 70s era,and met none of the stars on his way up. Yet he was a product of it and is way ahead of those who've come since.
