  • is there a difference when do a hybrid stringing on the kpro staff? do you follow the same box pattern?

  • so you use one string for the whole stringing process and you don't have to use two parts? like one for the crosses and one for the mains?

  • I absolutely love this box pattern, it's the best, thank you so much YULitle ;D

  • Hey, if there are no crossovers, how do you do the tie offs for the short side?

  • So what's the difference between the box pattern and the other pattern(s)? Any difference in performance?

  • yoo man would the same effect be possible with federers latest racquets? the kfactors?

    thanks

    c yaaaa

  • yes it works perfectly.. and I always use it on the k90.. looks really neat

  • awesome i just got my k90s a week or so ago , next time they break, im gonna go for it :D

  • hey yu, how many mains will i have to leave undone on each side to get a clean wrap around on a 18 x 20 pattern?

  • Thanks, but I figure out that its actually 5 main on each side on this racket though.

  • I have an racket from somewhere in the 1980s-1990s. Its an Prince Graphite Comp XL Mid Plus. The string pattern is 14X18. So any idea if this can be box pattern, and if so, how many main do i start off with? 4 main on each side?

  • If it would work, then yes, 4 on each side. What makes it work is that the racquet has pairs of main-skips on all four corners, and the mains have to normally end at the top (when strung "normally")

  • You say that it looks nice on the outside because there are no crossovers, but you do have 2 loops next to each other on two places (tie-offs), don't you?

  • Yes, but those are not cross overs.

  • I just strung a Wilson Hammer 6.2 using this pattern, but in order to tie off, I ended up with ridiculous long cross-overs (my last main was h5 and the tie-off was at the other h5, and my last cross was the fourth (bottom) which I tied off a the second cross (bottom)). Do you have to widen grommets, and if so, which ones? You say that on your racket, there are no cross-overs. How is that possible (what about tie-offs)?

  • You often have to widen grommets. Doing this allows for no cross overs on this racquet. Some racquets may have crossovers, but they should be minimal if you widen grommets.

  • How do you decide how many mains to leave open when you're stringing a racket with 18 mains? Do you know any modern rackets that have mains that end at the head?

  • (with 18M) If you start at the head, you can leave three open, but I'd only do it if you have two main skips on the T and H. If you start at the throat, leave two open and you can do it with one OR two main skips at the H and T. I know there are a few, but I can only think of the N6-2, ALL O3 racquets, Fischer Pro1 FT... etc.

  • So this pattern is only useful with Wilson 6.1 rackets?

  • It is useful for any racquet that has 16 mains, two skips and starts at the throat. :D

  • i have a friend with this same racket. iv'e always done a two piece because that's what he wanted. i did this box without him knowing it and showed it to him and he was thrilled. now he wants it done this way from now on. thanks to you and your vid. like you said, for this racket it just fits it.

  • When do you decide to use this scheme instead of the classic one? And why? Are there important reason behind this choiche?

  • Well, I covered that in the video. But, the outer mains and crosses are more consistent this way and the crossovers on the outside of the racquet are more neat(non-existent actually.) I only do this pattern on my racquet. I wouldn't do it on a customer's unless they asked for it.
