  • Nice

  • can you teach us on how you made it from scratch

  • Now it makes sense. Hes asian, not one person watching this would even try to attempt this. Gratz bro on the RC

  • Looks like a good try but now you have bunch of other twists such as the entire axle rotating..

  • can u build me 1?

  • bigsstone please say what is this song name?

  • what is song name? it's good vodeo

  • how much for one but a cherokee?

  • very nice articulation concept you have here. I had a little idea myself to change weight distributions, thought about having some kind of servo with a lead mass affixed to it so you can dynamically change the center of gravety. then furthered that idea with having a ballast tank (like a nitro tank) holding water. and then some mini pump arrangement to pump the ballast water forward into another holding tank say at the front of the truck ( possibly into a bubber bladder- rather than a tank

  • NIce Crawler Truck and Cute Kid :D lol..

  • nice one man! crawler is funn!

  • Way to think OUTSIDE the box! Nice design! Hats off to you! We need more people (thinkers and engineers) like you in the world!

  • Well its innovative, but a clod crawler would embarass that thing. Your over thinking and over engineering. (lose the wood youll get much more respect lol)

Ever hear of a stick chassis?

  • wood atleast use plastic or fiberglass

  • Nice crawler 4 stars!!!!

  • its a very unique crawler you have

  • so after the storm, its a full droop crawler with motor on axle setup? moa setups dont have torque twist. duh.

  • Over "enigneered" (I can't think of any out of the box crawler that wouldn't out crawl this) total waste of time sorry

  • Nice.

  • Nice rig execept you should have not used the wood though

  • Might be good If you could get the pivot point and geometry in a way that when it rotated up it didn't swing out to the side.B/c like in your demo, wen the buggy goes over bump and the chassis swings way out the opposite way. Thats no good for tight areas and trails. On a motor at axle setup like you have there's no torque twist in the suspension, that happens on scale type center drive trains that have shafts from middle to axles with a ring and pinion.. But easily solved w/ worm pinion setups

  • i dont mind the setup but the pice of wood lol looks shotty

  • cool ich plane gerade ein rc event in der nähe von Augsburg bei interresse bitte einfach mailen oder bei facebook freund anbieten

    meine e mail: Bazajatee@web.de

    gruß Patriiiick

  • @Bazajatee hahaha WTF???

nice rig man!! is it still runnin? tiny motors, I bet they work good tho!!

  • Comment removed

  • Cool suspension and motor solution! :-)

    My hat's of to you.

    Regards from Sweden.

  • its ot grand clearance its ground clearence

  • dood you should like take this worldwide and make a fortune off of it this is pure geniuse

  • sweet!

  • how much money would you need and how would you build that its amazing

  • Now lets get ti to the states. I'll try it!

  • I can see your son is already interested in it. I see how you used two tank style motor/gear units. By changing the wires to the ESC (2) you could make that truck steer like a tank also (just a thought). I like the way you think, some r/c maker might be happy to buy some of your thoughts. Great job,and I know your son will do something great in this hobby too. Mike D Secaucus, NJ

  • very cool

  • what the fuck is the GRAND?!?!?!?

  • Hey I think you really got something here . You need to make some phone calls or take it to a show . You could make some big time money with that !

  • Genius.

  • sooo you made a way overly complicated 3 link with a centered panhard bar?

  • homemade.....ROCKS!

  • how much do these thing cost??

  • woa nice design how much :)

  • Looks like a 4wd mousetrap

  • high quality chassy right there

  • @flappyjockstrap LOL its wood! xD

  • from what truck are the joints in the axle

  • do people eva use brushless motors in rockcrawling? why not? hav brushless motors not as much low end torqe?

  • people do....i was at a comp the other day and a guy had one there. it worked really well and no one uses them because they r so expensive

  • @gewizz2 brushless are less common because they offer a very poor feel, non sensored brushless have a very noticeable cogging sensation at low rpm. This is inherent trait due to there three phase design. with no sensor the esc doesnt know rotor position, causing this cog until syn can be achieved. sync stat ON requires revolutions no matter how you look at it. rev = time. besides, crawlers go slow. B/L is efficient through rpm. ALOT of money is spent to go brushless with little or no advantage.

  • @Duckyistrippin i think i got it, so B/L motors are rough at low revs? ok , i often hear people saying B/L motors are expensive but i got my B/L motor with 35amp ESC on Ebay from honkkong and it was very cheap!! but is for my plane! so maybe car B/L motors are more expensive?

  • @gewizz2 b/l motors are more expensive than brushed motors. you can get a HK brushed for like 83 cents. The HK esc wont work well in a crawler because no drag brake {unless crawler has worm gear axles, then you dont need drag}

a Sensored brushless does not have the low rpm issue most b/l have..but they are much more expensive.

if you are getting into crawling there is NO advantage to bl. the wheel speed is nice if you can use it properly, otherwise it just makes it hard to go slow.

  • @Duckyistrippin ok thanx 4 that info,

but one advantage is brushless motors are much more efficient right?

u dont hav 2 answer mate!

  • @gewizz2 yes, b/l is much more efficient. longer run times. but again, in a crawler this is almost not an issue. your typical brushed crawler with a 1100mah nimh pack will have more run time than you will ever need. you arent on the throttle that much in a crawler like you are in a plane car or boat....

  • i just want to say if it will be in store i will not buy it but if i made it my self and put it in store i will buy thousands off them you designed it wery good just create a body nice work :)

  • What's with the gay ass music?

  • in the real world that design would cause a bad crab walk under compression of the suspension... hents why cars and rock crawlers using latteral mounted shocks/springs still use trailing arms.

  • but its only for the rock crawling...

means ,when you'll drive a regular road at max speed of this "toy" the axes will always hit the body...:\and that sux

  • Grate video I'm going to use it to design and build

    me one thanks.

  • You really, really, really designed it very nice :D

I just love it, man, I wish I could build something like that.

  • Brilliant! The ultimate compliment would be if someone saw this vid and built a full-size crawler using your revolutionary ideas-it´s not as easy for them to eliminate the torque probs by putting the engine(s) in the axles!

  • very impressive. yet, where is the clearance from axle to chassis?like when u r driving up a small ledge, head on. Not much ground clearance for the chassis

  • Thank you for comment. Its focused strech -side suspension stroke, so axle-chassis is no clearance for compression-side.

  • @bigsstone great vid, loved the diagrams bro..

  • @bigsstone its a very good design, i can say that.

  • @bigsstone how much would that cost me to build? could u build me one?

  • @bigsstone can you sent me the blue print.. my email apie_boz92@yahoo(dot)com

  • engineering at its best

  • The only possible issue that I can see is simple.. Their was a gap in the sheet metal that you used to shield the motors/diff (around the control arms/axel knuckles), what happens if it took on some dirt/crud?

  • awsome design i love how you designed it

  • wow that is a VERY good design good job :)

  • cooool

  • wow. very interesting! you thought out the drivetrain very well. though, it seems to me your goal was to get rid of torque twist. which, really only occurs on crawlers equipped with a single motor with drive shafts to each axle. so why not just use clod axles? more power, and a much wider stance, and a wider stance = lower center of gravity. please note that i am not trying to "bash" you or anything. i am just inquiring. ( i love rc crawlers) either way thats a bad ass crawler. "two thumbs up"!

  • Thank you for comment. Exactly. discord axes of roll and axle twist, in my thought ,it need for crawling on slope, side hilling. it prevent inclining the body for shaft-drive and also MOA.its the goal for flex and stability. Wide stance is lower center, too wide under axle hit easily. tires inside distance is narrow better. stance/wheelbase ratio is important for running through rocks. my crawler refered to full-scale truck Scorpion, jeep MB/GPW,low cost, easy build,1/10scale,so unused clod axle.

  • Oh my god! Or should I say oh my buddah? Your Asian!!

  • I have designed and built an 1/8th scale RC car and I know the effort that went into making that car.

    I love it 10/10.

  • you could put a plastic base instead of wood

  • What tares are those?

  • great concept. sometimes simple is better

  • how much did it cost to build, and how long did it take to build?

  • a nice fuel engine and its cool

  • da song is kinda G@Y

  • men your the best ... thanx about that idea on the wey how to build it

  • Cool build. Goofiest music ever though ;)

BTW: Looks like one of your axle shafts is bent :/

I like the suspension design though. Interesting setup. But why are the springs lifting the axle up rather than pressing it down?

  • the spring pulls up rather than push down to reduce pressure points. and even the weight of the vehicle out.

    well, thats my guess...

  • dont get me wrong, this is great, but why go through all this pain and effort? id just buy one, which is exaclty what i did LOL

  • probably wanted a hobby and a challenge

  • Realy nice ! Max

  • Your are a genius. Now you just need to get Toyota to do that on their next FJ

  • toyota..your true patriot ...pfffffff

  • cool idea i wouldn't of thought of that

  • Congratulations!!!

  • Genius! (By the way its GROUND, not "grand")

  • Thank you for comment and correction.Ground. I should check spelling.

  • U R very smart. Genius design. Well done. If you could put together a kit, i would buy from you.

  • Very creative would love to see it in action rock crawling.xstreetg

  • umm ur kinda smart,.... just a lil but lol

  • yea, but if i were to do this i would say screw it and not waste my time and get one rtr LOL kuz this is real hard

  • yo that shit is tight

  • excelent! but one question... in the real truck, this suspension how work? the problem is in the tranfer case to de axle shaft

  • Thank you for comment. the real truck its my incentive, there seems using propeller shaft and tube frame axle carrier.(search " scorpion 4x4 scorpionrear.jpg ") its complicated for me, my RC crawler is motor on axle.

  • search in google "renault racoon"

  • hey those trannys are from tamiya caterpillar this i have that i should get another

  • how much does this weight?

  • It weighs about 2 kg

( with front wheel add weight 110g x2)

  • GROUND. not grand

  • Thank you for correction. Ground Clearance. I should check the spell.

  • cool truck but your music is gonna make me throw up

  • Excellent work, creative engineering, congratulations.

    Some questions:

The twin gearbox tamiya are original without modifications? you have mounted another motors not the original that come with the gearboxes, why? for speed, power, torque.

    Thank You in advance.

  • Thank you for comment. I use gear box is tamiya craft kit double gearbox, with some modifications; for strength final gear and the drive pinion gear is metal gear, dirve shaft is stainless steel shaft. plazma dash motor is using for torque and wear against high-current at low speed crawling, it has big commutator shaft.

  • awesome!

  • great amazing work

  • Very nice you did a good Job on it.

  • I still see the problem of axle sway. It looks like a glorified pimp cane honestly.

  • why would you show us it, instead just get it patented and make some for the lhs?

  • recieved some inquiries about structure. it originated with real truck Scorpion 4x4 . this only making RC model and modified.

  • this helped me make a good one and thanx alot for the help:)

  • hey thats cool!

i like the wood chassis... LOL

    sweet,,,, i need a crawler.

  • im lovin the wood chassis. no bs. it shows that you have the brain to really make something from scratch on a budget.i had to make a sharpie telescoping driveshaft bc half of mine fell off and i have no money...were the real crawlers lol. nice rig man

  • has it gotten waterlogged?

  • great work! that is very impressive! the wood chasis is funny but you proved that it works just great!

  • need a pan-hard-bar but i like the axles you should make it so you can control each tire

  • its nice but now try to make it have A arms

  • Very nice. This is similar to one of my axial trucks. The shocks are mounted vertically (to reduce suspension steer) and bent link bars increase clearence. Where did you find the axles?

  • thanks comment. this axles homemade case using tamiya gearbox for educational craft kit.your crawler sus is interesting and seems like good motion.

  • very interesting idea !!!!

  • cool!

  • chiquito coco el nota

  • waaaaay too much flex steer.

  • It only looks like it, watch both axles. The correlation between front and rear axles is pretty perpendicular.

  • thanks insightful comment.that's right.its the effect of swing-twist shaft bend.

  • THATS VERY EASY WITH A MECHANO TOY

  • dont mean to say this sucks cause its a good idea but i think it brings more thrill to the people when ur on only 2 wheels wondering if ur ganna tip or not same with real life driving rock crawlers i dont think half the people there today will think its fun if they did that to their real cars either

  • I'd like to do rock crawling on 1:1 scale. But if i did it, the same way i do with my rc, i'd probably be dead by now!

  • lol thats the same style suspention i made for my custom rc check it out on my page

  • Great creative work! Patent your ideas while you have the chance! What's next? In-wheel motors?

  • ahahhahahahahahahahaha is it made out of a peice of wood?!?!

  • better than metal. wont break

  • as easy ^_^

  • Check out my video of a traxxas summit you might get some new ideas to make that beast run even better :D

  • thanks its a very nice and cool video. sorry for my english but i do my best.

  • Thank you for comment. Im glad. My english just crawling.

  • you need to replace the wood with metal

  • Thanks comment. the merit wood panel is light weight, radio noise reduction, low price, easy to work.

  • Great job ! ! !

  • Thanks RCCrawlerBros

  • Looks cool. Good Job.

  • Very creative work, definitely a different approach from the traditional shaft driven four link suspension.

  • thanks. thought outside the box and tried RC. Its not perfect as a suspension and likely to continue struggle.

  • Great video!! I am constracting something like that.

  • Thanks. RC Crawling so much fun.

  • great video bigstone, the young fella's happy to. cheers mate.

  • Thanks mate.
