After many years of thinking I was a Christian believer, I finally read the bible.
Thanks to reading the bible with an open mind, and applying rational, reasonable, logical thought process, I am now finally free from all that mumbo jumbo religious bullshit. I reject it entirely!

when he says that is a consitant book. Wasn't written all of them by israelites? or people that knew them and some of their belives? Did the mayans write about God or did the japanise write about the same God?

@tallliza Read Ephesians 5:22-29. Women are regarded as of great importance to the point that Husbands should lay down their lives for them. It says also that women are to be subject to their own husbands as to the Lord. You should listen to some good bible commentaries to understand what this actually means. The Christian view is not that women are second class citizens. Men and women have different roles in marriage and within the church. These roles do not devalue or degrade women.

Read "MIsquoting Jesus" by Bart Ehrman (or watch the youtube videos). The early manuscripts were wildly variant and inaccurate. If you can find a reputable textual critic ( someone who is truly an expert in the field of ancient new testament manuscripts) who is also a fundamentalist christian, please give me their name. I would like to hear what they have to say.

@devante11 what jfjweb is saying is true concerning doctrinal consistency, but you are also correct in that there are apparent contradictions throughout the bible such as the one you brought up but these can be resolved. in the example you brought up, Jehoiachin was crowned twice. the first time, he was crowned by Jehoiakim at age 8. Jehoiachin was then crowned again at 18 after having to wrest the throne from his younger brother.

I am 58 years old. I have been reading the Bible daily for 35 years. I have found consistency. Those who say differently are not objectively or consistently reading the Bible. I have also looking into inside and outside evidence for the reliability of the Bible. I have found thiat this video is absolutely true. As time goes one there is more and more proof that the Bible should retain its adjective - HOLY.

It's true that it is hard to know which religion is true, but we believe that there is one God who created us because He loves us and wants us to know Him personally. God doesn't want religion, or people to blindly follow a god they can't know is real. You are right that God is for the weak because it is easier to turn to God when you need help. God is not just a AAA service that fixes flat tires though. He wants us to have a rich relationship with him.

We do NOT have pieces of the NT dating to "25 years after they were written"!
There is scant archaeological evidence of biblical history. There is no evidence of Jewish slaves in Egypt, despite Egyptian historical documents pertaining to then.
David's empire is seriously doubted by archaeologists, and there's no evidence of Nazareth dating to Jesus' time, despite many archaeological digs.

@tallliza Read Ephesians 5:22-29. Women are regarded as of great importance to the point that Husbands should lay down their lives for them. It says also that women are to be subject to their own husbands as to the Lord. You should listen to some good bible commentaries to understand what this actually means. The Christian view is not that women are second class citizens. Men and women have different roles in marriage and within the church. These roles do not devalue or degrade women.

Jehoiachin became co-regent with his father Jehoiakim over Judah at age eight and became the ruler “in Jerusalem” at age eighteen. The age at which Jehoiachim became co-regent is not surprising, since his father’s interest would have been to secure an heir in the face of imminent Babylonian invasion.

@devante11 what jfjweb is saying is true concerning doctrinal consistency, but you are also correct in that there are apparent contradictions throughout the bible such as the one you brought up but these can be resolved. in the example you brought up, Jehoiachin was crowned twice. the first time, he was crowned by Jehoiakim at age 8. Jehoiachin was then crowned again at 18 after having to wrest the throne from his younger brother.

he is Supernatural. i know He's supernatural because of my dad. He came off of drugs, alchohol, profanity, swearing, all because of God's promise of great things for you. No human could convince a person to just give up all those things.

yes but there's a difference, when my father dies, he will be in heaven with God, no pain. Unless your mother accepts Christ into her heart, she's looking to an eternity of suffering. And if God was an imaginary friend, do you think that he would answer my prayers?

every religion has there own god and there is no way they are all real so i choose to believe none of them are real bc its almost immpossible to be real...evolution makes much more sense....the bible has great guidelines to live by but as far as god being real...that is for weak minded ppl to believe in bc they need the belief that god will help them.

rpals9, thanks for your candid comment. It's true that it is hard to know which religion is true, but we believe that there is one God who created us because He loves us and wants us to know Him personally. God doesn't want religion, or people to blindly follow a god they can't know is real. You are right that God is for the weak because it is easier to turn to God when you need help. God is not just a AAA service that fixes flat tires though. He wants us to have a rich relationship with him.

Jesus made it very clear that He is THE ONLY way to God.
No other person or ''religious'' leader died for someone's sins....So how do you wanna get in heaven if you are a sinner?? Jesus is the answer. He took the punishment ON YOUR BEHALF. :-)

Unfortunately all the manuscript, archeological and geographical evidence don't prove that God sent himself down here as a son (which makes no sense at all in the first place) Who then kills himself to save us all from fiery torment? How does Jesus dying save anyone? Why would God need a blood sacrifice OF HIMSELF NO LESS? sounds like a petty disgusting God to me.

Then explain in scientific study how God did not send Himself in His Son, who offered Himself as a sacrifice. Jesus offering Himself, as the perfect sacrifice, without sin, is the sacrifice that a human is not able to give. God is pure. He can not look upon sin. Tolerate it. I can see why sacrifice is not pleasant. But with the ultimate creator, authority, Intelligence, knowledge, we, as corrupted creation, are unable to understand His ways, thoughts, plans.

Bruce, the parting of the red sea was proved unaccurate by geoligists and other scientists, historians etc. Moses actually led them through a marshy area according to ancient maps. The first born killed was also prooved to be ironoxide poisoning. hell is not a real place. It is imaginary. It was conjured in the minds of some sick twisted men who established psychological control over societies by fear mongering them with the idea that if they don't believe in God and follow the religious leaders (priests and such) without question you will have an eternal end of such horrible magnitude.
