You know how they say the Prettier they look, the dumber they are? Well, im sorry but i have to say you are really Pretty. I guess ur not thinking every thing straight
ur taking transhumanism to another level. if the best breed with the best than slowly and surely, the weak will die off. less diseases too.(not virus/diseases like cancer but lactose intolerance, heart burn, near/far sidedness, etc)
but that's unlikely to happen anytime soon because the ignarant and disabled breed with people as equal or less than themselves
@arsenalskate123 "Breeding" won't matter for very much longer once genetic engineering becomes commonplace. It will be, in fact, initially *easier* to provide genetic therapy to adults than to engineer "designer babies".
I suspect the only way there will be a delineation among humans will be due to those who embrace enhancement/augmentation and those who, for various personal beliefs, reject it. I don't view one as "better" than the other - I just know I plan to be part of the first group.
Chipping a human brain? Depends on who's making the chip, doesn't it? It'd be a really great way to control the population's thinking, wouldn't it? Big Brother would love it!
2:50 I liked the "natural" you put in air quotes. As I see it, everything IS natural. Every other animal alters its environment, and we don't cast them out of the "natural order". Nor should we cast out ourselves. It doesn't mean we could or should condone everything we do, but to label things as unnatural, artificial, or supernatural are just category errors.
on the overpopulation thing: don't you think we have the intelligence now to say we should only be having 1 or 2 kids instead of 10? do we need to wait for this technology to recognize this?
No, they shouldn't. They should be advocating for safe sex practices and teaching them how to properly use condoms, as well as making other methods of birth control available.
Do you not see how preachy your comment is, as in "We are the west, we know what is best for you developing nations!"
well birth control would certainly be part of the education.
and the truth is, western world or not, developed nations have the education and the resources to do this. im trying to promote education not some kind of arrogant preachyness.

Personally, I believe the brain is a deterministic machine, just like a Von Neumann machine.
With enough variables, it can be cracked.
We're getting there quickly.
It's GOING to happen, so, we should really be discussing this in terms of what we will do when direct transductive implants are invented, not if.

chips are only good for sensory interfaces, since memories and reasoning are non-local systems.

Um, in western nations people generally have 1-2 kids.
So I don't know where you are going with that.
determineninz 2 years ago
right so developed countries should be focusing on educating undeveloped countries on why it's unethical to have so many kids.
