A lot of multiple monitor games (like G Darius, Robot Warriors, X-Men 6player) are done this way on mame. When you play them they look like they're being shown in "widescreen" with the black bars on the top and bottom. It kinda sucks if you have a small monitor, because the characters look smaller than they normally would, but you see everything. So with a big enough screen, it'll look arcade perfect.

Problem is, that's impossible. The arcade machine itself used two TVs put together, which is impossible ot emulate.

Not really impossible... there's two ways to do it: have the game span the display onto two monitors (people can have multiple monitor displays these days after all), and/or make it output the image to two simulated screens (ie: split screen view). The latter is how MAME does it right now. So the game is emulated, the only problem is sometimes when the screens "shake" they don't properly shake together so the illusion of one giant screen is broken for a split second).

i just noticed something..why is Magneto leading Sentinals into battle in the opening?..sort of contradictory..makes no sense..two kind of seperate x men storylines..Apocalypse,Magneto­..although I think they kinda converge in the comics..along with Sinister..does anybody else remember what i'm talking about? haven't thought about this shit in like 15 years...great game though..TMNT rocked as well..the reign of the Arcade is pretty much over..sad

I always thought it was weird having Magneto leading the Sentinals. I mean, come on, they were programmed to Hunt down and kill Mutants, so, the idea of Magneto somehow controling the Mechanical Mutant Killers is beyond comprehension

i remember when i was around 12 and they were selling the 6player arcade in the mall for $300 or 400 but i couldnt buy it. we'd have no where to put it. its real rare to find it now. that sucks.

DAYD111, the bosses can be fought one at a time if you avoid scrolling the screen. Do this by staying on the left side with your enemies always to the right of you.

omg soooo many hours and soooo many quarters spent on this game! Frustrating....they gang up on you and you're basically screwed unless you discharge your mutant power. I hated the guys with the big cannon gun, they suck! Wolverine has always been my favorite =)
