Dusty succumbed to renal failure in September 2011. She was a month shy from 17 years of age. Then 5 months later George passed suddenly from heartworms. He was almost 8 years of age. These cats are family and very close friends. Both of their bowls are now empty but their voices still echo in our house. We were with them. They will stay with us.
He apparently wrote this song for his dog that passed away. I love my dog is much, he's like part of our family! So this song is pretty sad thinking if he left us :[

I had to say good bye to my cat. She'd been with us for 13 years, that's more than a half of my life. I know it sounds silly for some people, but it was really hard time for me. The saddest thing is that I had to made that decision. She's old, very ill and all in pain, and I know it was right thing to do but sometimes I just feel guilty. This song reminds me everything. How she was sleeping on my knees when the vet was on his way, how scared she was, how I cuddled her little inter body after all

I recently lost my cat too, she was only 5 years old and I took her to the vet thinking she just needed a simple operation and that she would be home with me the next day but no, that was the last time I saw her. Vets think she died from a blood clot. It's hard but don't feel guilty, she'll be grateful to you for taking away the pain. :) <3

After I read the interview where he explains that this song is about a friend's dog, who had passed away I began to really think about how it must be to lose a pet. My dog is 14 now, he's been a constant in my life and this song destroys me every time I hear it. I know it will be hard, but to lose such a constant presence must simply destroy.
It does, I remember, we had this very smart dog for 16 years(he passed away in 2005), he was good to me, you know? I've known him since I was born, then to have him die, on a cold december night. We couldn't help him, we all knew it was his time, but it was emotionally crushing for all of us.

But sometimes I shed a secret little tear. I may be a big 41 year old vet, bit I'm only human and these thing just don't get any easier.
As a vet, I have to put down animals on a daily basis. It's one part of the job that never gets any easier.
I can be happy with a successful surgery, or a good diagnosis. But I'm never happy with a euthanasia, no matter how peaceful it took place. Although I can be content with the way the animal fell asleep and how serenely the passing went, but I'm never happy about it.

I think this video is about moving on in general. What is beautiful about music is that it can be interpretted to fit the experiences of any person. That being said this can reflect the loss of a person or animal through death, the end of a friendship, end of a realtionship, or even a child moving away from home. For those that don't know, this is a song about a family friend, who had to put their dog down. They ended up doing it at home, in their back yard. So heartbreaking.

A freind of mine died, in a solo car crash, almost a week ago.
It's amazing how a song can describe the feeling of loss. It really hurts to let go.

@Jamakusai this song reminds me of my cusin Amanda, her "boyfriend" shot her in her temple (bodypart not building) and it can describe the feeling of loss and i finly found someone who lost someone close resently and i found a vidio that helps make the time when someone passes a lot easyer to go through so if you want a look just message me.

The song and animation reminds me of the film 'Help! I'm a fish!'. It's style and beautiful lyrics are similar. Must watch! Really brings back a childhood feeling of innocence. How I have changed since then.

We honour its life by ending it in the most humane way possible, surrounded by its owners.
I have devised a whole ritual for a euthanasia, in a quiet little room with some flowers, incense and music playing softly. That way it can be a beautiful thing, respectful an loving. But sometimes I shed a secret little tear. I may be a big 41 year old vet, bit I'm only human and these thing just don't get any easier.

As a vet, I have to put down animals on a daily basis. It's one part of the job that never gets any easier.
I can be happy with a successful surgery, or a good diagnosis. But I'm never happy with a euthanasia, no matter how peaceful it took place. Although I can be content with the way the animal fell asleep and how serenely the passing went, but I'm never happy about it.

I think this video is about moving on in general. What is beautiful about music is that it can be interpretted to fit the experiences of any person. That being said this can reflect the loss of a person or animal through death, the end of a friendship, end of a realtionship, or even a child moving away from home. Their presence is always apart of your "house" or your memory.
