In response to SuperStan105... Stevie Wonder is a musical legend who has given himself to his fans repeatedly over the years in good times and, as per this clip, in times of tragedy. If you're paying your supposed "hard earned dollar" to see a real and genuine performer be as about as real as it gets, then Stevie's the man. You don't give a shit about his personal life? Fine.. In the meantime, get one of your own 'cause I can sum you up in 4 words son. You're an asshole...
Stevie in questo concerto era in difficoltà credo per problemi personali la gente l'ha capito e sostenuto sTevie è unico e i fans come me lo amano Stevie tutta la vita!
I was there that night. It was the last night of the first tour he did after his mother passed away. He talked that night about her passing, and how he had stayed off of the road for awhile thereafter. He was clearly happy to be back performing, but this song clearly meant something, and it was a real moment. Glad his daughter was there to help him out at the end of the clip.
@SuperStan105 If i'm paying my hard earned dollar I want to see him perform not cry like a fucking baby - like I give a shit about his personal life. Entertain me or get the fuck off the stage!

This almost made me cry too... Stevie has brought all of us so much joy, and I thought, this was a situation where we could give something back to him... support him when he really needed it. Very touching.
Stevie was and is the true master of the detroit sound. this version of "lately" is stirring and heartfelt. He has given me and so many others hours upon hours of his so very unique gift, once again he is the very best of all time, amen....nicholas
this is so touching... just like when he cried during a performance thinking about syreeta... i saw the midsummer's night tour as well, and spoke about how he did the tour for his mama. a beautiful, strong woman raised a beautiful, strong son/sun... tears...
I cry every single time I hear this. I was at the M.E.N a few weeks ago and the tears were rolling down my cheeks. He makes you really feel the pain of any rejection or loss you may have had. He is a genius.
Am going to see Stevie at the o2 tomorrow night & am SO excited (will be my 5th time....over 25 years!)so was just reading some of the reviews of the MEN show when I came across a mention of this clip. Have just cried too.....what a truly wonderful, sincere, human being he is. I have a feeling I'll be crying tomorrow night!
Think you might have read my mention on the MEN site - to cheer you up, check out the Stevie Wonder 'medely' of the MEN and listen to a really out of tune (not me!) around 3:40!!!
Just seen Stevie in Manchester (third time) and he was incredible. Searched for any recordings and then came across this. I can't tell anyone about this without crying - what a compassionate, giving, soulful human being and the world will be a sad place without him. Thank you for sharing this clip.
I absolutely love this man. What a beautiful spirit. I cried just watching him tear up. You can feel how much love his fans have for him by the way they fill in for him when he breaks down. What an incredible and inspiring human being. Thank you, Stevie--for giving so much of yourself to us. Godbless.
FOR THE RECORD. I saw stevie twice on this tour! his voice is different, but not in anyway worse and he is in no way losing it. This was touching to see him crying and to see his daughter Aisha helping him at the end. In philadelphia, he was playing You and I (we can conquer the world), And he began weeping. He sang "syreeta I love you" during the end of it. He was crying about syreeta Wright, his ex-wife, mother of his kids who died 4 years ago.
I don't now what was more touching -- Stevie breaking down and crying for his lost mother in front of a concert audience or the audience stepping up and filling in for him and cheering him on. This was an incredible example of the goodness in the human spirit! It's enough to send chills up and down your spine. This is also why a lot of times when I pray to God, he tells me to listen to Stevie! Blessings to you for posting this!
Well, I just saw Stevie Wonderful in Houston, and this video just did me in. What a special moment that must have been for the people of Boston - loved the way the crowd just carried him through it with their love. And then Aisha coming over at the end - so touching.
No worries about Stevie Wonder losing his voice - he was crying so its hard to sing when that happens. He sounds just as good in concert as he does on record, as I witnessed at the Concord concert a few months back
im so sorry to say this but he is loosing his voice, this has been going on for some time now. i have been a big fan of stevie wonder for a couple of years now, so im as sorry to say this as you are to hear it.
@kellmucious i mean he obviously got emotion there and couldnt sing first half of this video. plus its not like he uses shitload of woofers and tune up high base to make music sound good.
a big fan of stevie for a couple of years now lol, oh my God.. he's been around for over 40 years and you just now hearing of him? You are not allowed to say anything about him thats worth paying attention too. go back to your britney and little boy bands you're probably used to listening too.. go to those posts
okay he's crying and your point is... hell you would cry too if your mom just passed away, he was thinking about his mom when he sang this song idiot, I saw him in december for his toys for tots concert and he sounded great and if he is losing his voice a little, which I mean maybe a little, its probably due because he's been singing for like what? 40yrs?? hell no ones voice stays the same, I thought that was common sense but I guess not
