the reason he took his tie off and said that is because when they're in the alleyway at the end of this episode and his says 'i can travel in time aswell' the to prove it, he goes back in time, takes his tie off, says 'like so, see?' then when he reappears in the alleyway, and is putting his tie back on, she says 'no, but that was this morning!' and that's how he proves he can travel in time, so when he sees her in this part of the episode, he's actually proving he can travel in time.
Others may hate you for spoiling but for me it's a release though I haven't seen the whole episode right know (it says 9:57 of 44:26 minutes on the BBC iPlayer) 'cause I found it quite enervating not to get the point of that scene. So I'm the type of reader who always takes a look at the last two or three sides of an exciting book - blimey! :-p
If David Tennant or any famous person appaeared out of nowhere in front of me and gave me anything while saying " like so. See?" and would scream out loud and be thinking " they're insane" at the same time.
